  1. Thanks guys. The Batusi is certainly going down well. Perhaps I should. Any excuse to watch the series again, right? Thanks mate. In related news, the Whirly-Bat showed up briefly in Batman #673 that I read today. It seems even the serious modern writers love that thing.
  2. The wheels do look a little small, and the suspension isn't quite as springy as the box would have us believe, but neither are bad. A S@H collection. Like these, but for Agents obviously. In the video section, at the very end of the Mission 6 advert, when all the mini-vehicles rush off... how cool is that? The vehicles section is pretty neat too.
  3. Let's have a look... oh, you're right. Can I change my mind about wanting it? I missed that... don't know how! In fact, the thing that annoys me about my family is when they take an interest in my thing. My mum doesn't really do it, but my dad and sister do. Here's an example. My sister bought a Wonder Woman t-shirt the other week. Fine, but she doesn't even like WW. WW and comics in general are my thing, so that annoys me. Now they're pointing out other WW products to her. Excuse me, who's the comic geek here? Who is a WW fan? She's done it with Doctor Who as well, just because she fancies David Tennant. I was a fan of the classic series long before the new series came out, I'm the one with the expert knowledge of it. I'm the Whovian. But she seems to have developed this idea that it's her who's the big fan, and my mum and dad have even started asking her about in-jokes, references and up-coming storylines! Excuse me, no, my thing. I had to harshly tell my dad not to buy a Riddler t-shirt we came across today, because it's my thing. Does he like comics? No. Do I? Yes. I want any clothes that express my passions to be worn by me, not him! I'm sorry, but it really annoys me. Oh, Ares of course. Forgot about him. Rather proves a point doesn't it? Look at us, we're even flirting now... Not to mention that the guy looked at least 50. Thing is, Batman had Alfred take his place in prison (dressed in the Batsuit once again, looking ridiculous). You think he'd have somthing important to do, either as Batman or Bruce Wayne, that couldn't wait for Gordon to come down and have him freed. But no, he goes home and reads the paper! Ah, that's Warden Crichton's special rehabilitation programme. He lets them wear their own clothes in the week before they're released. But Gordon applauding Batman's escape was really quite funny. Have you watched part 2, Batman Displays His Knowledge, yet? It's not quite as funny as this one, but there's a neat bit with Batman/Bruce Wayne/Gordon, and Catwoman trying to seduce Batman at the end is strangely uncomfortable to watch. That said though, Julie Newmar as Catwoman is always worth a look, if you know what I mean. It doesn't really matter which one you watch, they're all worth it. Try his the ones (it was a three-part story) where he teams up with the Joker, kill two bird with one stone if you'll excuse the pun. The Zodiac Crimes, The Joker's Hard Time and The Penguin Declines. When you've done that, check out the one where he teams up with Marsha (also a three-parter), that's pretty good as well. Penguin is a Girl's Best Friend, Penguin Sets a Trend and Penguin's Disastrous End. Youtube seems to have them both up as well as a couple of others. EDIT: Look! I'm famous!
  4. We already knew that though, as Dick Grayson is Nightwing, and no-one likes Jason Todd enough to include him. So Nightwing is an unlockable character as Batman is in every level, presumably with Robin. I'm wondering if maybe he picks up Gordon and Alfred (assuming they're playable) along the way on one level. Batgirl is likely to be the same as NW. Bruce Wayne is playable on the Wayne Manor bonus level. How cool does that sound? Rampaging round "Stately Wayne Manor, home of millionaire Bruce Wayne and his youthful ward Dick Grayson".
  5. Even the molds we all admit aren't so good still attain a certain level of engineering genius. However, while the original toys were mostly articulation-less, I still have a fondness for them. I wasn't around at the time, being born at the close of G1 (BW was my era), but seeing pictures I appreciate them for what they are. The level of technical complexity wasn't quite as easy to come by in the 80s. I have the reissue Jazz and Starscream, and I have to say I love them, even if they're not super-posable. A new intro and a new way of cutting between scenes and shots.
  6. He looks like the Joker with those lips!
  7. It's one of those things I know I should like, but I just can't quite manage it. I don't dislike it, and I can watch it, it' sjust that there are plenty of other things that I'd rather watch. They're not as bad as they used to be. They used to sort of ask me if I "really wanted [to buy] it" which in other words meant "wouldn't you rather have something else?" That happened with Lego, Transformers and comics. But I think when I reached 16 and stuck with my passions, they figured there was nothing they could do about it, and left me alone. Oh, I don't know. He only trained with the worlds greatest detective and all. I didn't and I saw it. And no, I didn't notice. Might have to have a look sometime. She doesn't really have any well-known rogues to comic geeks either! Save for Cheetah, Circe and Giganta, and maybe Doctor Psycho, the others are a bit obscure. Angle Man, for example. And no, I haven't seen Firefly. You've recommended it to me once before. It's on the 'must see' list. Let me down gently, why don't you! In the comics, it's Kevlar reinforced, lead lined memory weave cloth. It also has various electronics built in, and is shielded against mind control, and disorientation (via a navigation system). It also has a comm-link, Waynetech Starlite lenses, and often various countermeasures to stop it being removed. The 60s Batsuit on the other hand is attached round his neck by poppers. Woah, cool! But even better than that: BEEP BEEP Catwoman Goes To College was on last night (Batman Displays His Knowledge is on tonight). Take a look, it's pretty funny: Part 1 Part 2 Part 3 Watch out for the funniest line Gordon's ever had, when he reprimands Captain Courageous. Then, watch out for what Bruce Wayne does after Alfred swaps places with him. He must have something really important to do if he can't wait for Gordon to help him. You'd think so wouldn't you...
  8. We've not had a proper release for either Gordon or Alfred either, maybe she'll be with one of them? Perhaps Gordon, seeing as how they're related. To different degrees depending on the continuity.
  9. Yeah, I got it the same time as Mission 2. Remember, I told you the ATV was really big, and Gold Tooth only just came up to the middle. It is a good set though, the plane looks pretty neat. They weren't there. Everything else was, but no Batman. Usually, the collection comes out at the same time as the individual sets, doesn't it? You know, I was surprised there wasn't one, in fact, there usually is. Assuming my local one is the same, that sound quite good. Woolworths don't seem to have Mission 4 in, so that could be a help. The volcano base is a plus as well, of course. Thanks for the update.
  10. Ah, crap. I forgot to delete one of the copies. Did I do this anywhere else? Oh... thank you. I will post an updated truck MOD, but I just need one more white wheel arch. I found one I'd forgotten I had the other day, and I might pick up a Clone Troopers BP to get the other. The clones are always useful after all. No, please do. Like I said, it's surprisingly sturdy, and if the gun connectors are tight enough on the bar, they don't move at all. I only have two Chases. One is Chase, the other I've already borrowed the hair for something else. I can still use the brown one though. I just need to find a different suit. I have a black one, but I'm not sure if that'll work. Never mind though, I'll sneak him into the Batcave.
  11. I can't really judge, she's made so few appearances. ... yeah, good point. Well... I can't see her.
  12. A little. But for some reason, I just don't 'get' it. All my mates at college think it's one of the best things on TV, but I'm not so sure. One of my other mates doesn't like it either, but he's grumpy and doesn't like anything. Yeah, I think I'll have to do the same. I've got a taped copy from last time it was on, but if I can find it cheap I'll pick it up. Might look in HMV, they seem to have everything on sale all the time... Watched Fear of Victory the other week, that was quite good. Robin's back, with no explanation for his absence. Never mind though, because a few minutes in he's stupidly fallen for the old poison letter trick. Idiot. Scarecrow's redesign looks nice. No big changes, but he definitely looks 'scarier'. Time is of the essence of course, it's Clock King up next. Seeing as how this is done by DC, I should think it'll be born... of clay. Because I guess she technically was. It looks pretty good though, back to the mythical roots of the character, like the 80s reinterpretation. That is, rather than the pseudo-bondage WW of the 40s, which is probably a good thing here. And she doesn't look unattractive, which is right for WW. Maybe even something looser? Say, a set number of creations, but they can be anything BB1/BB2 related. Aw, you're so sweet. And thanks for commenting on Bat-MOC 4.
  13. A lot of my white bricks are yellowed as well, although I've put them in a special box all of their own. I can't bring myself to throw them away, and you never know when they might come in useful. Yes, but there are still two Batmen. One on the bike, one on the roof. I shouldn't think it's one of the Three Ghosts either, seeing as how you don't like Morrison.
  14. Spent most of today (and the last week, in fact) wondering what I can get my mate for his birthday as I've no ideas. It's his birthday on Friday. Crap...
  15. Talk about putting your foot in it, Brainbox... You've done that as well? I've taped them on video, but it's the same result. And it's free.
  16. And Batwoman's a little out of our league. You know, seeing as how she's a lesbian. Of course, because it's not been released on DVD, DC can just deny all knowledge.
  17. No, I mean, once again I haven't seen something that I probably should have. Well read, badly watched. Really? I didn't know that. I swear some of them actually jump into the water, rather than being pushed. What about Batman swinging that giant spanner... that doesn't hurt anyone?! And of course good old Alfred driving the Batmobile. With his mask on. With his glasses over the top. "Bless my dustpan!" I'm sorry, I've just burst out in a fit of hysterics at having written that. For some reason I found that really funny. The animation style certainly looks quite lighthearted. Speaking of, have you seen any of the new Superfriends toys? The ones from the new comic series that introduces the Justice League to a new generation. For some reason, I really want a Batman figure... That's a really good idea. We could even go so far as to involve a third party to actually post all the stuff at once. You're wrong there though. There'd be a couple of other people who comment, then it'd just be us for page after page. EDIT: Have you seen this about B&B? Looks good. Have you noticed that Batman's face is slightly reminiscent of Adam West?
  18. Perhaps a little. Batwoman's probably a little unlikely too, for the same reason. The current one, that is. I don't think she's appeared in a Batman comic yet. Oh really? Not what I've seen...
  19. I've just been having another look at the pictures, and he's growing on me. Still not sure I'll get him, but I definitely like him more than I did when I first saw the pics. I was referring more to them bringing back characters and ideas that are, to one extent or another, fan-favourites. There are some people that are real fans of the Masters lines, and they were quite a big part of the Transformers mythos, even to the extent that characters got rereleased with partners (including Prime). Look at the other characters we're getting- Prowl, Sunstreaker, Sideswipe, Ironhide (and likely Ratchet), Hound, and Inferno and Bluestreak/Silverstreak to a lesser degree, are all prominent and popular Autobots, and most were in from the very beginning. They're characters that are ingrained in the minds of fans, both from the 80s and not. Then there's Ravage, probably one of the most remembered characters in the whole of G1. Then there are the figures from other eras. Cheetor and Hot Shot have been chosen because they were some of the most remembered characters from their eras, and G2 Megs was one of the few rereleased characters to get a new mold. He was a good design then, and he still is. And on top of that, the new toys all just great molds.
  20. No, I have the hair. I've got Missions 1, 2, 3 and 6. So I've got all the henchmen save Claw-Dette, Fire-Arm and Slime Face. I still haven't found them, but I've not looked in TRU yet. Can't afford them at the moment anyway. Interestingly, I think the TRU website lists it as exclusive to them. But that's certainly good news, as I'll be able to pick it up whenever I can afford it. My Tesco hasn't got any of the new stuff in yet, so with any luck...
  21. When you said this thing was big, I didn't imagine this! I guess it's a good thing you didn't fill in the roof, you'd have had no bricks left. The outside is fantastic. Quite simple, but well-executed. The letters are really good, and I like the slopes on the roof edge. The inside is just fantastic. The lake in the middle, with the penguin statue, the tables, the bar area, wow! The lake is well-built, and looks nice and clean. Can I ask though, the penguins in the lake... why are they carrying guns? Surely that's not the image a 'respectable club' wants to give out? The 'secret rooms' are good too, they look very utilitarian, rather than classy like the rest of the building. But of course, they're not messy, as there's a brush there to clean up. The toilet is rather big, but it still looks good, and I guess at least it's there. Most people wouldn't have bothered. Seriously though, this is fantastic. A worthy addition to the Lego Bat-mythos, even if it's not one of the better-known locales. Great work mate. Hang on, why are there two Batmen? Three if Matches is still inside?
  22. Thanks everyone. My, the Batpod seems to be getting some praise. Strangely, so does the Bat-lamp... Like I said, I honestly think this is one of the best Bat-MOCs I've ever built, if not one of the best MOCs in general. Not at all, please do. What? The Whirly-Bat's awesome. What's even worse is that this actually existed... I should think so. Bat-MOC 5 will probably have MODs of this years sets, as well as a couple of other things I'm yet to think of. And then there's the Bat-lamp. That was one instance, yeah. The other came in only the first episode ever (Hi Diddle Riddle), when Batman is drugged by the Riddler in a nightclub and ends up dancing the Batusi. it is. Look out too for Robin bopping along in the Batmobile. He wasn't allowed in, you see, he's underage. I apologise most earnestly. The front tyre does sort of bouce up and down a little because it's got the old axle connection rather than the new one, but that doesn't really bother me. Three guns and a grey connector might have been better, but again I'm not really bothered. It's loosely based on the design of Mr Freeze's go-kart from this years set. A larger one? Well, I still need to MOD the Bat-ski from 2006, so that should be on it's way sometime. It's got that wonderful 60s innocence and charm about it though. It was nice to make a Bat-MOC that wasn't black as well. Seriously, this was actually in a comic. No, it's right as is. It simulates a curved umbrella handle. I had to borrow the suit and the black hair, so likely neither. It'll go in the Batcave disguise area though. It's only loosely based on it mind. Oh, hang on, I might have just spoiled a plot point... If you look at my Batmobile MOD, the studless disc at the front has to be removed before the plow can be attached, so no not really. Just wait and see what I've got planned for next time.
  23. Welcome to Bat-MOC 4. Up this time we've got some vehicles, some figs, some vigs, and... something else. I think I went a bit mad at times here, so bear with me. Bat-vehicles Batpod I accidentally came up with a really good front wheel design the other day, in an attempt to help WetWired with his then-WIP model. I liked it, so sat down yesterday and built the rest of the Batpod. It is quite accurate, and I've managed to get the front wheel attached on only one side. The guns don't spin with the wheel, and it's surprisingly stable. The rear wheel can raise and lower a bit, but I forgot to get a picture of that. Seriously, I love this. I honestly think this is one of my favourite MOCs I've ever built. Gallery Bat-snowmobile Batman needs some way of getting around in the snow, surely. Gallery Robin's Go-kart He wasn't always old enough to drive, you know. I based this on the design of the TOWN racers of old. Gallery Whirly-Bat In his last Treat, Batbrick built a Whirly-Bat, but he foolishly built the wrong one. He chose the gyrocopter one. I wanted to do something a little silly, so built the true Whirly-Bat, a single occupant mini-copter from the comics of the 50s and 60s. A book I have shows it in blue, so I did that. I took a few creative liberties, but never mind that. Just bask in the wonder... I'm rather a fan of this as well, I think it turned out quite good. Gallery Villain vehicles Pogo umbrella I was flicking through a book and came across a picture of the Penguin on a pgo-stick umbrella. Cue MOC stage right. You know, this turned out quite difficult to photograph. It doesn't stand up on its own, you see. Gallery Rocket Umbrella Inspired by the 60s film I watched the other week, I built an umbrella-shaped rocket for the Penguin. I'll say one thing for it, Pengy seems to be enjoying himself. Gallery Figs Matches Malone Batman's underworld disguise. I know Batbrick has one in his BS gallery of the same design, but I was the first one (of about four people) top post the idea, so I got it. Okay, so the suit isn't perfect, but you get the idea. I also did him with a choice of black or brown haor, as he's had both in the comics. Diver Robin I made Batman a diving suit for the last Bat-MOC, so decided the Robin deserved one as well. Gallery Diver Nightwing The I figured Nightwing should have one as well. Gallery Group shot Bat-armour (2) A sort of 'glider Bat-armour' loosely based on the one from Justice. Gallery Bat-vig Batusi! Past Bat-MOCs have included vigs of famous Batman comic panels, complete with sound effects. This time, I wanted to do something different. So, I present 'Batman does the Batusi' from that frankly bizarre scene from the 60s TV series, complete with music note sound effects. Gallery Other Bat-plow When Batman faces Mr Freeze, there's likely to be an awful lot of snow and ice on the roads. So how will the Batmobile cope? Simple: Gallery Bat-lamp For when the Batcave gets just that little bit too dark... Gallery Batbrick And of course, the obligatory Batbrick/Brainbox joke. As Batbrick and Brainbox chat endlessly and inanely, EB crumbles around them... What's worse is it's true. We ruined the Batman '08 thread, and had to rein ourselves in in Castle and Agents threads as well! Gallery Hope you liked.
  24. That was my thinking. This set also gives me all four Agents and Dr Inferno, and I've got all the original henchmen now, so I can hold off on the other sets, especially the boat and the car, for a bit if I need to. As for what I want to get next, I might try and get the Bat-sets, then look at either Mission 7 or Mission 8. You know, the Mission 6 shark slide names them as "Evil Shark With Missile Mount".
  25. Heroes? I guess there's Cassandra Cain, Steph Brown, Huntress and Azrael, but they're probably not well-known enough. Harold? Firefly will probably be in, as they can reuse the Killer Moth model to a certain extent. Likely. Actually, I think the Nightwing reveal article may have said that he could use Robin's suits in-level (as in, the costume change pads), so maybe Babs can use Batman's cotume pad. So who knows?
