Thanks for the suggestions guys. I'll look into it. So am I when they finally arrive over here. Prowl does look pretty nice though, as does Sunstreaker. The only thing that bothers me about Prowl, and it's a little bother, but the divides in the front bumper look quite noticeable in teh pictures. Maybe it's the black and white colour scheme. Does it stand out as much in the flesh?

I'm embarrassed to say, I didn't get this, especially as I'm one of them. To be fair though, I did somehow manage to read 1966 as 1996. Today I spent all morning in bed, then this afternoon I nipped into town and bought some Lego. Mediocre day, really.

Picked up Pohatu Nuva and the CITY Ambulance in Tesco today. Fancied some Lego and Pohatu was on offer. The Ambulance will be cannibalised for parts, partly for my much-needed MOD of Two-Face's truck.

Yes, that's what I thought. Nice to see they're not as stingy as they used to be. How well does the treasure chest fit? Good point. Missions 3 and 8 turned up in Tesco today. Might have to give in and get Mission 8 when I've got some money. Yes, I know I should get a job, you don't need to tell me Batbrick.

This is really neat, yet somehow I missed it earlier, but never mind. It looks really cool, and the fact that it's 'limited' by being an alt model makes it even better. Those orange tracks look really nice...

Oh I loved this set when I was young! I think I got it for my birthday, and it was one of my favourite sets at the time. Funnily enough, I was thinking about it the other day, and how I really should build it again... Thanks for the nostalgic review.

Yppah yadhtrib! Well, if you're allowed to write your name backwards...
-
Cool, especially as it was last-minute. There's something descidedly artistic about it. In fact, perhaps you should just pretend that the rushed, slightly haphazard approach was intnetional...
-
Yeah... me too. I really do. Trouble is, I just can't be bothered. Like I said, it was also what introduced me to Batman. I first saw the movie when I was quite young, and for many years it was Batman. Besides, it was played as a spoof. It's not as if it was unintentionally 'bad'. And I did. I watched it yesterday. The bit at the end where Bats and Leslie grieve was fantastic. So touching. That 'attack on corporations argument' is absolute rubbish. It was an attack on corrupt, above-their-station business men and their corporations, not corporations in general. Oh, I didn't know Jonah Hex was in. Nice. K? It's not too bad. I think the best Superman/Batman stories were when Loeb was writing, not least because of McGuiness' art and the Vengeance story. But it's not bad. We've seen some nice Bat-gadgets, and some guest appearances. Plus it allows me to get all geeky about Kryptonite. To be honest though, I don't really care what they print, as long as they print something. It's a way to get comics on the general British market, and the fact that we get three stories for less than the price of what two would cost normally (comics usually come out at £1.85 here, the CEs are £2.60 each). Plus, we're not that far behind the US market, so I'm getting stuff only a couple of months after rather than having to wait for the trade. At the moment, I'm just keeping up with it. But the first part was in Batman #676. We're up to #673 in the CE, so it should be printed soon. Images had a Bolland cover, and it was used as the cover to the last issue Batman Legends. I thought "ooh, Bolland drew it". No he didn't... Aw, disappointing. It's more of the same really. Plus, we get the first appearances of the Batcopter, the second Batcycle and the Batboat. There are some pretty funny moments in there, and of course the villains working together is always a good thing. It's like a long episode, without the death-trap cliffhanger. Oh, btw, Aunt Harriet doesn't know Bruce and Dick are Batman and Robin. Some of the excuses they come up with to leave are ridiculous.
-
Might have to come to that, yeah. Cheers for the suggestion. Exactly. It's now more acceptable than ever to be a 'geek'. Frankly, you should count yourself lucky. Over here we've only got half of the first wave.

I'm due to start my second year of college in a few weeks, and I'm planning on doing maths at university after that, with a view to teaching. I also volunteer at a primary school one afternoon a week.

Eight are visible, and there are two more hidden under the two removable bars. I quite like the look of the sub, it's kind of retro. Good work on the sets though. I really need to get these, they're both just so cool. Great designs, great parts and great figures. What more could you want?
-
Oh look, you've invented a new colour. This one? They came from 4856 Doc Ock's Hideout.
-
A very nice building, and there are some great shots in there as well, even if there aren't that many. The exterior is gothic and Arkham-ish, and the interior is just as cool. Great find.

Indeed. I wonder if his Tumbler is road legal? Because it says that it's fully working. I might be going with my mate this week. We'll just have to see if that comes to fruition. Found it in HMV the other day, so when I have a bit more money (next week) I might try and pick it up. When he ducks his head? Fantastic! They even have the Bat-theme tune playing. One moment... Appointment In Crime Alley. Isn't that based on There Is No Hope In Crime Alley? Good for you. That's the one with all the Ra's episodes on isn't it? Now if only it'd come out here... No, just #673. Images was printed in Legends Of The Dark Knight #50, back in 1993. The CE normally only prints modern stuff, but what with TDK they wanted to have a Joker story. Not sure why they didn't choose something a little more 'classic' but never mind. K is from Superman/Batman where they take it upon themselves to rid the world of Kryptonite. It's not a bad read, and we're getting through it twice as quick due to them printing it as a cross-over with Superman Legends. You know I favour modern stories over classic stories, and I don't mind Morrison's run, but I'm not sure about the Thomas Wayne bit if it's true. The destroying Batman bit is fine, good even. Batman's wandering round Gotham in a drug-addled state with little-to-no memory, Alfred is tied up and beaten in the Cave and Nightwing is semi-conscious and unable to speak in Arkham. That's fine. Thomas Wayne being alive? Please no... There's a lot of speculation that Batman dies, due to the RIP bit. But, my CE said, in response to someone asking if they're going to print Batman RIP (which they are) that "[we] don't even know what the RIP bit stands for." So, something other than Rest In Peace I assume... Especially the flashbacks, where there are only a couple of points of colour in a black and white environment., which I have to say look very nice.

But of course the idea of parading round is perfectly acceptable. If he has a girlfriend though, I'm sure she doesn't mind... Oh, my dad's been watching the 60s series when it's been on, but my sister's not really interested and has only seen a few episodes. My mum sometimes watches it, but sometimes doesn't. She says she can't watch it it's just that awful sometimes. Sounds good. All I have to do now is watch the ones we've already got... Actually, that's a point, why hasn't she noticed he's not there? Especially compared to the other female villains... That's an interesting point actually. For allwe laugh at the show for being the spoof that it is, we've had some great villains come out of it. This version of the Penguin is a lot better than the Burton version, which I didn't care for at all. Gorshin's Riddler is fantastic, such a manic energy, but clearly a great thinker. Catwoman is a mix of temptress (in that costume, how could anyone resist?) and thief, and she even has heroic moments, where her love for Batman threatens to overwhelm her criminal intentions. It may well do. Wait... I've just found the Catwoman/Sandman episodes, the one with the Alf-cycle. Part 1 Part 2 Part 3 Part 4 Part 5 Part 6 Said moment comes at the beginning of part 5. A classic sight. "I don't think we shall attract much attention sir." Oh I think it's definitely got to be the Bat-crotch. In other news, I watched The Clock King today. Honestly, I loved it. It's probably one of my favourite episodes so far. Perhaps because I'm a little bit like Temple with the stringent routines and such. I wonder if Temple has OCD... The latest issue of Batman Legends arrived today. It's changed to every three weeks rather than four, as has sister title Superman Legends. No reason given, but it means I can get even more action from the World's Finest. First we had Morrison's Batman #673 where after his 'death' last issue, Batman goes on a mind-bending trip with flashbacks to his finding Joe Chill (plus a cameo from a black version of the Whirly-Bat). Bat-Mite appears as well. Again. The we had Part Three of K from Superman/Batman #46, where Superman gets high on magic Kryptonite and Batman and Zatanna flirt. Again. Finally, we had part two of Images, first printed in Legends of the Dark Knight #50, telling the story of Batman's first meeting with the Joker. Again. I also managed to pick up the deluxe edition of The Killing Joke from the library today. I've already read the story, but this printing features new colours by Bolland himself, which look fantastic. Looking forward to reading that.

But for the first time, we had a proper back-story and proper characters. Some of the most popular Transformers characters came out of G1 and are still remembered today, even by people, like myself, who weren't around at the time. Hell, in Prime and Megatron we got some of the best and most remembered characters ever. That, and it killed off Prime. Having said that, I didn't mind the movie. Taken at face value, for what it is, it's an okay watch. By no means a cinematic innovation, but hardly bad either. Except that it got rid of Megs as well as Prime. But it did give us Unicron... As I said before, BW was my era. When it came out in 1996, I was 5 or 6, so it was my first experience of TF. I remember my 5th or 6th birthday, and my friend bought me Insecticon thinking it something I might like. And that started it all. I didn't get to see an awful lot of the series when it was on, and I can't seem to find it on DVD here, but I do remember some episodes. The one where Rhinox is subverted into a Predacon stuck in my mind.

Went to Chester Zoo yesterday. Had a great time, and the weather was nice to boot. Sadly, I can't go through the photos my sister took to see if there are any I like, as she took close-ups of a spider and a stick insect... Then today it rained all day, so all I did was nip into town... rather quickly so as not to get too wet.
-
Nah, it's not that. I'm just living in the 1960s.
-
The chef is neat, and I rather like The Mechanic as well. Either side, they're not not curved like normal minifig arms, instead being straight.
-
Great work. The boarded-up building and dilapidated (I didn't want to say 'broken') bridge look neat, and fit really well with the overall look and intentions. I don't think the dirtbike looks particularly out of place, it's certainly the right colour. I like the interior as well, it's quite sparse and fits in well with the exterior. I'm sure Batbrick will be pleased to hear you say that...
-
Creative and cool. Not that it matters, I don't have one either.
-
Ten. Oh, wouldn't that be neat? And we know Agents is continuing next year, so I guess anything's possible. The public may soon be regretting that decision... It's also stereotypical of comic books that no-one's noticed it.
-
Nice MOCs. The Jokermobile is good, with the clown motif on the front, as well as using a neat blend of Joker colours. It looks kind of clownish, but with a mean streak. The Spider-buggy is also quite nice, but I'm not too sure on the web at the back. He has. In the 60s series he had a dragster/hot rod called the Jokemobile once, and the comics have had several Jokermobiles. The one from the 50s was particularly nice. It didn't survive long though, Spidey crashed it shortly after it appeared. It made a cameo appearance in Spider-Man and the Fantastic Four #1 as well, as one of the shapes Impossible Man assumes to take Spidey to the Baxter Building. This one was green and purple though... and it was still driven badly.

I agree with the others. Like you said, it needs bigger wheels, but the body is very nice, and it's great to see three guns at the front. The other minifig ones I've seen, mine included, have all had either two or one.
