UN Peacekeeper yes it is spacey... sort of
Brainbox replied to steelharbingerofdeath's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
Ooh, intricate. I love things built from lots of small pieces, they always look so cool. The legs look good, but how sturdy are they? I daren't ask how many pieces there are! -
*cough*Moonraker*cough* To be honest, I think a space set could be a likely possibility. Across the 8 sets, we've been to the mountains, the swamps, the jungle, the ocean (surface and underwater), a city and a mountain/volcano. Where else is there to go?

Doctor Who, Torchwood, Sarah Jane Adventures...

With any luck. I think they should certainly do something to celebrate the anniversary. All we got for 40 was a documentary, a radio times pull-out and a fantastic book (which I got on offer, so even better). And what better way to celebrate this time with a Doctor reunion? Sadly, some of them are no longer with us, but as long as we at least feel the presence of each era I'll be happy. -
An underwater one wouldn't go amiss either, nor would a specialist fireproof one. But I'm thinking we won't get 'the gilded gold garb' or the 'luminous Bat-suit' from the 50s/60s. Have you seen the 60s series Mad Hatter? As played by David Wayne, he's based on the later-revealed-to-be-fake Mad Hatter of the comics at the time. He sported a moustache you see. The way he spits out "Byat-maan" is simply hilarious. And watch out for the Super-instant-mesmeriser in his hat. Take a look here. It comes right at the end. Oh that was what you meant, right. Yeah, I'd go for that. Hmm... that gives me an idea for a vig. No actually, I haven't. I mean, I probably can't afford it just yet, but it doesn't seem to have come out. Sadly no. I think they're all sold out of tickets for Friday, but we're going to book for either Saturday or Sunday today. I prefer an emptier cinema anyway. It doesn't matter. It's just that I've sent it to everyone else via email, and that's how issue 2 will be making its way to you. But if you'd rather do it by PM, then that's fine. There's not much I can do about sketchy lines in the first issue though, that's closed. But I can throw stuff in later issues to clear up problems. This first issue acts as a bit of a tease anyway. Like I said in the accompanying email (which I snese you haven't read ) I used photographs and traced/modified them. It saved time, so I didn't get too wrapped up in the sketch art when the writing is what I'm really exhibiting. The sketches are only meant to be a guide anyway, so the people reading it have a basic visual idea of the characters. That's rich coming from us!

We have nice weather! I've just looked out of my window, and it's not raining. It's not overly warm either. I'm finally getting mine off in a couple of weeks. Seriously, it's been about 2 and a half years since I started.

Writing it down... Ah, I'm on holiday. My brain's turned to mush!

Lovely, absolutely lovely. The 7-wide building techniquea are all interesting, and with the compartment at the back and the rmoveable roof it's both superb to look at and highly playable. You've made me want to experiment with 7-wide now...

I'm not a particular fan of 'boiling hot' either, but it might be nice if it was at least 'warm and sunny' sometimes. At least I assume it would be nice. I wouldn't know, I've nothing to compare it to...
-
No change in the UK either. Apart from the prices of the Wizard and Knight Impulse sets, which have actually dropped.
-
Ah right. I thought that might have been the case. I guess it works in context though. It's underwater, it doesn't need to walk quite so much.
-
Not up here sadly. It was okay yesterday, and it's quite warm at the moment, but it's been dull until now. In fact, the sun came out as I was writing this. Eee, 'tis grim up narth.

Not quite the same problem with me. I MOD most of the sets I buy to varying degrees (take a look at my Mach 5, it's almost a completely new set!), but then can't bear to dismantle them because it's something I've made. If I didn't bother MODing, I probably wouldn't have a problem.

It's even found its way onto my noticeboard, a place normally reserved for phone numbers, reminders and important letters. In fact, there's a date written up there and I can't seem to remember what it's for... I bet the weather's nicer there than it is here!

My bedroom is my Lego room. While that means I have less storage, building and displaying space, I do like to display as much as possible to make my room very much 'my space'. It gives it character, and makes it a place I want to be. My sorting method has become too good. I've obsessively sorted to such a degree that I've forgotten that some pieces have been sorted.

Doctor Who, Torchwood, Sarah Jane Adventures...

I think Tom Baker may have expressed some interest in a return, and I'd imagine all the Doctor's currently doing audio stuff (5 through 8) would do it. Here's hoping. -
I'm wondering if maybe we'll get a grey suit with the yellow oval Bat-symbol sometime. They'd be able to reuse the dark blue cape and cowl, just make a slightly new torso. I'd rather have a hat that's at least a little oversized, but I guess I'd settle for a small one. Maybe we could get a David Wayne Mad Hatter, with the pop-up hypnotism ray in the hat. As for Man-Bat, I think I'd prefer a minifig-sized one, like the 70s design. Yes yes yes! For that, I might just make you a Batbrickmobile. Forget Superboy-Prime's reality altering temper tantrum, just set us loose! And then comes back and kills everyone else... I want to see this film so much... You'll have to show me some time. You know how much I like my super-hotties. Obviously this issue is finished and 'locked' but any suggestions for future issues would be a great help. What to have more of, what to have less of, etc. And you might as well email rather than PM. We've clogged up enough threads here, no point ruining the PM system as well. Have you any idea how hard it is to find decent pictures of male faces it is? I found loads of females faces I wanted to use, but barely any good male ones. That, and I've always found women easier to draw than men.

And the fact that it's the Brigadier improves it no end. As in, the Brigadier. -
A Super-quantum-temporal-destabiliser perhaps. Or maybe even a Megaton-moleclulariser-ray.

I don't tend to buy sets solely for pieces. In the long term, yes, but very rarely will I buy a set just to cannibalise it. To that end, most of my sets spend at least some time on display, but I MOD them all first. The actual act of cannibalisation doesn't usually take place until I run out of space... which is most of the time! I've run out again at the moment, so I could do with making some.
-
They're all fantastic sets, I have to agree. I think this and Batman are the only lines I've wanted to buy every set in. Batman, well, that's because I'm a comic geek. This is simply because of the sets themselves. TLG have really done something right with this theme.

Doctor Who, Torchwood, Sarah Jane Adventures...

Sarah Jane series 2. There's an episode where she goes up against some Sontarans left on Earth following their most recent invasion attempt, and she gets a little help from an old friend. Namely one ex-Brigadier Lethbridge-Stewart. -
I think it's unlikely we'll get any of the game Batsuits (apart from possibly Robin's underwater suit, that would be sweet), but the villains and Gordon would certainly be welcome additions to the line. Clayface is easy, just mould a one piece head/torso slip-on like the Wookies and the Gamorrean guards. Make an oversized hat for Mad Hatter, and some 'wing arms' and a head for Man-Bat. Of course, with the new Agents robot arm, a special Man-bat arm is all the more likely. Oh, are you single as well? Poor us. Yeah... I was joking though. Oh very funny. Fair enough. Guess I shouldn't complain, a yellow car is better than no car. And thanks, by the way. Again, I was just joking. But if I did one, it would be like the Goody Bag, only Batbrick/Brainbox themed. That's the one. The second and third parts weren't bad, but I agree, the first was better. All of mine have them. Sometimes they get new ones in faster than the shops I normally buy them from! I went in the other week and found new copies of Wonder Woman: Who Is Wonder Woman?, the one with art by the excellent Terry Dodson, and Catwoman: Catwoman Dies, which has a fantastic scene with Batman holding Helena (Selina's daughter). It's also revealed that the Batmobile has a car seat. Let's never mention this again. It's out on Friday, so probably next week. Hang on, that means that you'll have seen it twice, before I can even see it once! BTW, off-topic ( ) but did you get my email?

Just got back from my last afternoon of volunteering in school this term. The kids finish tomorrow, but I'm not going in, so I took some chocolates in for the class. Took ages to give out. Then the kids gave me a 'thank you' card they'd made and signed. Then when I got home, I was copying some music to my Windows Media library, when I realised what I was doing- prancing round the room to ABBA.

To be honest, I think I'd rather it had a stand. That way, it can 'float' above the lowly ground vehicles, looking down on the people of the earth like the insignificant wretches they are! Mwahahahahaha! Oh of course. Some sort of Agents space transport or shuttle. With an escape pod of course.

I like this, especially the turbines, they look really good. The arms are a vast improvement on the original, and the whole thing benefits from being something a little bit different. Subs are all well and good, but sometimes they're just not quite right for a given situation. This may not be exactly what we had in the official line, but it certainly fits with it. Can I ask, do the legs move? And then some tools it can hold, for even more functionality.
