Aww man, I pray that that's true! I'd say it's no more out of Lego's reach than Simpsons, it only goes a little farther on average than Simpsons does. As far as character abilities, there are so many characters in this game whose abilities are such a massive stretch. Homer shouldn't have super strength, Slimer uses a hot dog as a boomerang, it's all a matter of creatively forcing these abilities to happen for some characters. These guys found ways to use characters that I couldn't ever dream of. If anybody could make Marge Simpson or Claire useful, it's them. As for unique, weren't we just all scrambling for a way to get Green Arrow, the guy we already know is a Legolas clone? There's more value in the character than the abilities. Actually, I just watched that video, and I can promise that that's not Billy West. I think it's just some generic figure that became Lord Vortech, or became another Lord Vortech, or something. Futurama would still be really nice, though. I'm surprised that with a whole Simpsons world and two separate forms of time travel that there wasn't a single Futurama reference. Maybe if we get more Simpsons/Doctor Who/Back to the Future content they could add a little something, even if it's just a Planet Express ship flying by for a second or a Slurm machine somewhere.

When marketing a movie that's painted as the biggest love letter to Batman ever put to film, I'd say that there'll be enough Bat-stuff to push the League out of any set appearances. The trailer alone has nearly every A and B-list Batman rogue there is, I can't imagine the movie doing any less. I'd say every set will have Batman in it, but most of them will have some Bat-ally, be it a Robin, Batgirl, Nightwing, Jim Gordon, or even Knight and Squire. I'm sure we'll see some weird ones, but apart from Green Arrow and maybe a Superman or Wonder Woman, I think the League is gonna stay out of the way so the Bat-universe gets all the spotlight. Agh, you're right! How did I miss those?? I'd say that Rainbow Batman is all but certain, with a good chance of Zebra Batman!

Marvel Superheroes 2017 - Set Discussion
Numbuh1Nerd replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
I feel like a lot of the Guardians hype has been muffled by Spider-Man and recent Civil War buzz. Thor Ragnarok definitely qualifies as the smallest movie, but I wouldn't be so certain that Guardians is the flagship just yet. I'd say Comic Con will really paint that picture, since we're supposed to see Guardians footage there, which oughta start the real hype. Personally, I think just a little more actual information about Homecoming is all that it'll take to top Guardians. Has Spidey appeared in a set with any character that exists in the MCU? Nick Fury is the only one I can think of, but he's just as much an Ultimate Spider-Man character.- 5,808 replies

I have a pretty good feeling that a lot of the Justice League will be taking a back seat to Batman, his villains, and the direct Bat-family. I can only hope. That would mean a really great Superman set. Problem is, there really isn't much room for comics sets next year, with The Lego Batman Movie taking up the whole winter wave, and Wonder Woman and Justice League taking the summer. The Batman Beyond suit is basically the only reason to even make a CMF line for Batman variants. It's like the only significant variant we haven't gotten yet, aside from AzBat, the first appearance suit, and anything involving the word "nipple". CORRECTION: There's still Kingdom Come, Red Son, White Lantern, Gaslight, Vampire Batman, and that time he painted himself yellow as a defense against Green Lantern, but MOSTLY the nipple suits, let's be real, that's what we're all here for.

Marvel Superheroes 2016 Rumors And Discussion
Numbuh1Nerd replied to Quicksilver's topic in LEGO Licensed
There's no way it'll be an actual Wolverine movie set, but a comic-based set to "coincidentally" profit is a possibility, like the Spider-Trike with Electro the year ASM2 came out. -
It's pretty neat that he can actually sit in it. Something tells me the color was changed for marketing purposes. They're probably afraid that a pack with a cuddly little thing and a pink car might be too feminine and scare off their 8-12 year old male target audience.

Marvel Superheroes 2017 - Set Discussion

That would be beyond nice. There really is no saying, though, that this helmet is just for Mighty Micros, though. Be it a full-size classic Iron Man, Mark I suit, or some other weird specialty suit. I imagine that there's room in the winter wave for comic-based sets, depending on whether they push Spidey sets off until close to Homecoming's release instead of months before. It does come out on the 7th of next July, meaning right as the summer wave starts if this year's any indicator. Summer I'd say will wind up being nothing but Spidey and Thor, though.- 5,808 replies

Oh yeah, Justice League comes out next year!! Judging by precedents and the release schedule, I'd say it'll be a ton of Justice League sets with one Wonder Woman, tops. It would make more sense for that set to come out in the winter wave, though, since it comes out in June as opposed to JL which is slated for November. Wonder Woman's really gonna get the short end of the stick here.. I guess she'll still be in League sets, too, though, or at least one.

His head is the hardest, since there aren't many flesh heads with eyepatches, let alone with eyepatches and facial hair. Honestly, I'd just suggest searching Flickr for Lego Deathstroke and seeing what you like best, because outside of the official figure he's painfully hard to replicate all that well in nearly any aspect.

Marvel Superheroes 2016 Rumors And Discussion
Numbuh1Nerd replied to Quicksilver's topic in LEGO Licensed
That's what I was willing to make of the chain thing when I first saw it, but there is just waaay too much evidence in Robbie's favor now. Coming 2019, Spider-Man fights Electro...blindfolded?! Iron Man's helmet is a new mold, isn't it? They couldn't print a face like that so smooth on the old visor, and it looks like there's just one solid piece there? Could we be getting a regular classic Iron Man soon, too? They are really perfecting the art of these Mighty Micros sets. The DC ones are so much better than this year's, and now THESE? Thanos's Infinity Gauntlet on wheels, Magneto's little car that's 90% magnet, the SPIDER-BUGGY, these are fantastic! I might actually leave most of these together this time! -
Wait, so the Lego Batman Movie sets are just outright replacing DC sets for the first part of the year? That's super lame. Those sets better be crazy good. If we don't get that classic Green Arrow, at least 3 new Batman villains, and Batman Beyond out of this, I'm gonna send Lego an envelope full of Batman heads and glitter >:c For sure! A lot of them I really wish they put even less detail on for that purpose alone. Right now they kinda look like those lame costume t-shirts, but if they got rid of the belts and just left the emblems they would be PERFECT. I'm praying that Wonder Woman can get more coverage than Doctor Strange. She is Wonder Woman, after all. I'm willing to bet that no matter how many sets we get, and whether we see a Steve Trevor minifigure or not, we will see at least one plane in a Wonder Woman set. Of course, not her invisible jet ( ) but like a biplane or something. I don't have a single doubt about that. As for that CMF line, is it just Batman variations or are we getting actual characters? If it's just variations, this'll be the hardest CMF wave to feel through the bag for

Even in the comics, she could hold her own for at least as long as Superman. Heck, isn't there a whole arc in the New 52 where Wonder Woman had to fight a Doomsday-ized Superman?- 8,446 replies

Marvel Superheroes 2016 Rumors And Discussion
Numbuh1Nerd replied to Quicksilver's topic in LEGO Licensed
There's legal issues with Marvel and CMFs. Since they don't come with builds, the collectible minifigures fall under the category of action figures as far as licensing is concerned, and Hasbro owns those rights. I think the reason we're getting Ghost Rider has fall seen the light of day. They've got a train in San Diego running with an Agents of SHIELD logo coupled with a flaming chain, and they've moved to 10 pm so they can get a little darker. The damning evidence (heh) is their casting call for two Latino brothers, one disabled in a wheelchair and one "the most dangerous person in the room." That sounds an awful lot like the All-New Ghost Rider Robbie Reyes and his little brother Gabe. And by "an awful lot" I mean "exactly". So, could be some subtle promotional work. If nothing else, that is a terribly convenient coincidence. -
No, we don't complain about that, because we have it BETTER. Boys get told that they can do anything through their toys, but girls are stuck with princesses and homemakers. Even the stuff that breaks that mold has to get a pink paint job and turn into a doll or an accessory before they'll sell it, and it's hurting women. By actively limiting what girls can imagine for themselves we keep them out of important fields and more generally as a tool of oppression. Even the biggest leaps forward are still painfully far behind, like DC's Superhero Girls line, that still had to make them all teenagers in high school and find some way to force dolls into the mix. Gendering toys isn't even a scientific thing, or even an old thing. It's honestly only about as old as some of the franchises in this game, honestly. Before the '80s and Reagan lifting restrictions on children's programming and advertising, pretty much all toys were gender neutral in their marketing. Boys and girls would be playing together in Sears catalogs with the same white toy refrigerator. Once Reagan lifted the ban, cartoons (which were already being gendered beyond reason) became half-hour toy commercials, and so the toys themselves had to do the same thing. Even the coloring is arbitrary, with the trademarked "pink for girls, blue for boys" concept starting out exactly opposite in the early 1900s. There's no science behind that, either. In fact, all babies regardless of gender prefer the color blue. So, tl;dr: gendering toys either way is really stupid and counter-intuitive (both economically and socially) and girls are getting the short end of it. So yeah, they need to try a little harder to break up this sausage fest and let girls actually be a part of this stuff instead of marginalizing them. And I repeat: Ugh Anyway... Tomb Raider could be hard, given Sony's just getting back on the wagon with that and could run into the same problems as our Nintendo discussion a while back, but that would be great. Alien would be so perfect if it weren't rated R! I'm kind of surprised they didn't try Hunger Games when the movies were still coming out, although I guess most of the memorable/buildable scenes do involve brutal homicide between children, which might be hard to sell lol Man, Alien, though. If Lego would ease up on their rule about R-Rated movies, we could be seeing Alien and Terminator, maybe even Rambo! All those major 80s/90s classics. Say, Warner Brothers has the rights to Rocky! I think that'd probably work just as well in this game as A-Team or Knight Rider ever would, at least for a Fun Pack! His build could be a large chunk of raw meat to punch!

I don't think they need to start licensing glitter and the color pink just to get a fair share of girls involved here. They put a generic soldier in the Jurassic World set before they'd do Bryce Dallas Howard's character, aka Chris Pratt's co-star. We got a Cyberman before we got a Doctor's companion. They skipped out on Velma, despite being the third most popular Scooby-Doo character. We got Krusty the Clown before we got any of the other three STARS of the Simpsons. They couldn't be bothered to add one of the most iconic female characters of all time, Dorothy, despite having the Wizard of Oz license. We're getting Voldemort instead of Hermione Granger, despite the absolute lack of sense that makes. And while they're off buying up Knight Rider and Mission Impossible, nobody thought "Hey, why not Charlie's Angels? Steven Universe? Buffy? Sailor Moon? Josie and the Pussycats?" No, not any of the dozens of female-led properties, nostalgic or not, apart from the Powerpuff Girls. Not even Batgirl! They aren't trying nearly as much as they could for anything resembling fair representation, and it's not because girls don't play with Lego, no, it's because everybody's too damned married to this decades old corporate misogyny that these same toy companies pulled out of their butts in the 80s. Ugh. Anyway...

Oh my god, that IS what that is!! Over on the Dimensions thread forever ago I got mad that they gave Superman some generic spaceship instead of this wonderful little monstrosity. I really dig most of this, though. Doomsday looks cute, and pairing him with Wonder Woman means the most inaccurate replay of that badass scene from BvS! I'm glad to be getting Bizarro, and I think even in this form he'll fit in with the rest of the figures. Plus, his car being Superman's but backwards is absolutely hilarious. Not crazy about yet another Batman (just do Green Lantern and Sinestro??) but the Whirly-Bat is a nice pick, and Killer Moth's car is really clever. Plus, this new Killer Moth figure will provide just the right parts for those of wishing to make our Fear Harvester Killer Moths dopier!
