Can't wait for the follow-up set with the boring white guy in a suit and his evil vaguely-greek speedboat! While I'm sure we won't be getting a hyper-realistic army green WWI tank any time soon, a simple biplane is pretty likely. Lego rarely does locales, and I doubt that a WWI battlefield would be much of a build without a vehicle and ultimately a little more gruesome than a tank. We should probably keep in my mind that these sets usually have some major inaccuracies because of how early the film's development is when they start designing (for instance: Hank Pym in the Ant Man set, Doctor Strange's inaccurate Eye of Agamotto, the very off-base head print for the Ancient One, etc etc) so it's probably based on something we've already seen. I wouldn't hold your breath for more Amazons, since I'd say the figures are going to be Diana, Steve, and whoever our villain is. I think Wonder Woman still needs to be in at least one Justice League set, just for it's own sake.

I'd say the reason you're seeing so much of Doctor Alchemy is because he's one of our season-long big-bads on the Flash right now.

I think a biplane is still possible. Even Scooby-Doo got one of those.

The LEGO Batman Movie Set/CMF Rumors & Discussion
Numbuh1Nerd replied to Sir Gareth's topic in LEGO Licensed
It's the only thing anybody knows about her, though. It's not even all that obscure, it comes up fairly often amongst Dick Grayson fans. Nightwing is a lot more well-known than you seem to be giving him credit for, too. What makes this really icky more than anything is putting Dick's rapist into the merchandising for a movie in which Dick is portrayed as a young child. The second that an image would come of her minifigure, comic news sites would explode and it would spread like wildfire. "Newest LEGO Figure is Robin's Rapist" is a pretty eye-catching headline, and I'm sure that while kids won't care, parents and the general public will. Comparing it to the Joker is a weak argument, when the Joker is a character synonymous with Batman and has had numerous identifiable incarnations, while Tarantula has done nothing of note other than sexually assault one of DC's most beloved characters. But, to be clear here, it's pretty much definite that we won't be getting that Tarantula but the unrelated Silver Age character. -
That might be a somewhat tolerable answer if Knuckles wasn't so grumpy in the same image, but for the sake of really putting this one in the ground, Batman, LSP, Aquaman, The Doctor, Harry Potter, ACU, all 7 Ninjago figures, Ethan Hunt, Chell, B.A. Baracus, Bad Cop, and Legolas all have expressions ranging from "Blinding fury" to "Mildly stern".

The LEGO Batman Movie Set/CMF Rumors & Discussion
Numbuh1Nerd replied to Sir Gareth's topic in LEGO Licensed
Rosario Dawson is actually Puerto Rican, and judging by the tones they're using for the minifigs, so are Barbara and Jim. I think, while that might have something to do with it, it's probably done in the same vein as all the other drastic redesigns done for the movie. Either way, they make for incredibly useful parts, with the Batgirl torso being almost identical to the Batgirl of Burnside design, and her civilian fig and Jim both provide nice options for Hispanic figures. I'm hoping that the trenchcoats make a big entrance, though. I've got a lot of custom figures that use less-than-purist trench coats in a fair variety of colors, so if they could pull those out for some City sets and the like, too, it would be much appreciated. -
I see Bumblebee as more of a Titans character, too, but she and Ambush Bug were on the Doom Patrol at some point together. I'm mostly going off of the Doom Patrol entry in DC's 2011 Ultimate Character Guide for the Post-Crisis team. I didn't expect so much passion from my decision to skip Ambush Bug! I'm only doing it because I don't think there's a way to do him that'll suit me at the moment, especially with my limited collection (from your list of suggested figures, I just have one "Galaxy Squad whoshewhatsit" in an olive green that I don't really like for him. You and the realization that he wears a shirt and pants during his Doom Patrol time have certainly convinced me to reconsider that decision, though!

I would hope. It's really hard to find anything on that guy, though, as far as photo reference is concerned. I saw Tarantula listed in one of the sets about 20 pages back. That's the more commonly known Tarantula, but Banjo's probably right about them using the Silver Age Tarantula. -
The LEGO Batman Movie Set/CMF Rumors & Discussion
Numbuh1Nerd replied to Sir Gareth's topic in LEGO Licensed
Grayson becomes overwhelmed by his realization that he didn’t stop Tarantula from killing Blockbuster and is unable to resist her advances, [Tarantula] forces herself on Dick in the midst of his emotional breakdown. That's from her Comicvine entry, and they have the panels where this happened in the Images section, but I'd rather not put those here for any number of reasons. -
The LEGO Batman Movie Set/CMF Rumors & Discussion
Numbuh1Nerd replied to Sir Gareth's topic in LEGO Licensed
This might be old news, but I've been behind on this thread: are we seriously getting Tarantula?? Like, Tarantula, the villain whose only claim to fame is raping Nightwing?? Like, if that's the case, I don't ever wanna hear anybody say Punisher is out of the question ever again. -
These sorts of sets tend to be $30, have one locale or a large vehicle with a smaller build to go with it, and 3 minifigs.

I believe we're supposed to be getting at least one more set, potentially a store exclusive, with the Flash, Granny Goodness, Eclipso, and probably someone else. Somebody correct me on that, because I'm sure I've bunked up a bit of that.

After looking into it a bit, I guess Mento isn't that prominent a Doom Patrol member after all. I checked out the new Doom Patrol comic that Gerard Way is doing as a fresh source of inspiration (also because I love his work and I heard good things) and I think I'm gonna try for some of those versions of the Doom Patrol as the team develops, but I definitely wanna finish up my Post-Crisis lineup, with just Robotman and a good head for Elasti-Girl away. It'd be nice to get Bumblebee in on that, too, but she can be really tough to nail. I'm not even gonna bother with Ambush Bug lol

Next year is what I meant. We already know what we're getting this year, at least for the most part. Wait a minute, Eclipso? When and where is he showing up?

I think we've all talked about Doom Patrol options at some point but most of the members are really tough to crack, especially Robotman and Mento.

Lashina's in there and she's never been on the show, or anything else DCSHG related as far as I can tell. Hal's pretty likely, especially since the official website has a bio for him in their very selective list of secondary characters (including Beast Boy, Catwoman, Cheetah, and Hawkgirl) Actually, what might really be worth noting: the "Meet the Heroes" section of their website has been updated with individual entries for Beast Boy, Hawkgirl, Starfire, and Killer Frost. Starfire has already started to show up in the toys, making her the first character outside of the main 7 to do so, so maybe we'll be seeing these 4 in minidoll form in the next wave?

Tails definitely should've gotten a physical appearance. The Sonic franchise may be bogged down with characters, but Tails is definitely the costar of the series. He's got enough skills to make for a solo character and would only take two new molds. A team pack with Tails and Knuckles would be ideal, but Tails absolutely should've been a minifigure. The Adventure Time level is fantastic and Finn has a great range of abilities. I would grab that one first, imo, but Adventure Time means a lot more to me than Sonic does. Whatever you love more is the answer.

That's certainly interesting. Both Hal Jordan and Star Sapphire are secondary characters, and Sinestro is the headmaster of his own school. If they just went up against the New Gods, maybe the Lantern Corps is about to get some focus? Or maybe it's just a cute touch to their otherwise generic bad guys. DC Superhero Girls always manages to exceed my expectations, though, so who knows? I hope so. Do regular hat molds fit the baby heads? Because Scarface needs a hat more than anything. I doubt we'll see Scarface and the Ventriloquist any time too soon, what with this year being packed full and next year having 2 more (potentially 3) DC movies AND a new cartoon. Hope that Justice League Action puts him on for episode and lasts long through 2018.

I'd really like to see them brick built, honestly. They look really big and cool already, so a couple of bricks dedicated to the wings (not enough to be considered a major part of the set) could pretty nice, imo.- 5,808 replies

Marvel Superheroes 2017 - Set Discussion
Numbuh1Nerd replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
Not to keep running this discussion in circles, but I think MCU versions of Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist are all totally plausible, so long as they put those versions in the right places. If they show up in Infinity War, or even Avengers Assemble (whatever they're calling it these days) they could be justified in sets. The comic versions are all clearly still on the table, though, and I'd call a Daredevil minifig inevitable at this point. As for Agents of SHIELD, we're on the cusp of that answer as we speak with the Cuusoo set. I saw a website report on it, suggesting that the set might want to update its cast to match up with the current season. Seems like as good an excuse as any to get a Robbie Reyes minifig! It's all about marketing, that. The same reason we got Deadshot, Captain Boomerang, Killer Croc, and Katana over on the DC side this year, and why we got Ghost Rider: simply capitalizing on what's being introduced to the market. It's a lot easier to sell these guys when you know for sure they're relevant. I could definitely go for an updated Power Man and Iron Fist. I think we could easily get Punisher. It's a guy with a gun and a van, he's just screaming for a set. Whether he's framed as the hero or the villain is the question, but Punisher seems definite. I'd say we'll get the Defenders in loose tie-in sets when the show comes out, sorta like the Suicide Squad. Blade might be a longer wait, but Moon Knight? He's a fan favorite, and we're getting Detroit Steel and the Super Adaptoid this year. He's got a better chance than he probably should lol- 5,808 replies
