  1. I really hope they do a version of Bane like this later on without the jacket. Just thinking about Nolan's Bane makes me furious, so a traditional (i.e. good) Bane without any traces of that pretentious, whitewashed nonsense would be superb. Sorry, that's the best I can do as far as talking about that without ranting That's so interesting! I never considered that "Riddler" would be hard to translate, and I definitely never would've thought to call him The Sphinx instead! That's such a cool name! I'm kind of interested in seeing how some of these characters are translated now!
  2. It's not like it's a genderbent Eclipso, it's the Jean Loring incarnation. She was Eclipso for a good while in the comics, as well as Ray Palmer's ex-wife.
  3. I think he's just referring to the fact that they've been given the Lego treatment.
  4. 41238 Lena Luthor Kryptomite Factory 41239 Eclipso Dark Palace Oh man, I have a feeling I'm gonna wind up with a dozen Batgirl minidolls by the time this is over. That's yet another awesome-sounding Batgirl set! It's interesting how much they're using Krypto here when as far as I know he's barely showed up in the series. The Eclipso doll is probably going to have a pretty useful hat (though that's not even close to the hardest part of a custom Eclipso figure) and I'm curious as to how they'll do Flash, since the normal cowl doesn't quite fit. I'd say it's just as likely to be a new cowl mold as it is to just get him with normal hair and his mask down like he usually has it in the show. I'm really excited to see these sets, though. The DC Superhero Girls line has been surprisingly good. That is adorable! What a nice little touch!
  5. That wing design for Lapis is pretty ingenious! I'd imagine only the 3 main Gems and Steven would be physical figures, but the rest of these would work really well in digital form. I feel like the abundance of new hair molds is a little too optimistic, though, even with the digital figures. The Gems would fit really well with the games abilities, though. Steven would have Shield, potentially flight. Amethyst could have shape-shifting powers like Jake, Sonic's spin-dash, and grapple. Pearl would have intelligence/fix-it (she did build a spaceship out of garbage, after all), potentially arrows (her spear), and illumination. Garnet could get strength, shield (from her gauntlets), electricity (she jumpstarted Greg's van in The Message), fire resistance, and she could potentially split into Ruby and Sapphire who could use fire and ice powers, respectively. Maybe put Steven in a Level Pack (based on Gem Glow, maybe?) and do with the Crystal Gems whatever they plan to do with the Powerpuff Girls. In the absolute fantasy world in which they give us Peridot and Lapis, too, Peri could have intelligence, fix-it, tech, and potentially magic through her ferrokinesis (or they could just introduce magnetic powers to the game like they have had in past Lego games). Lapis would have dive, flight, water, whatever that thing Aquaman can do exclusively is called, and maybe even Lantern Constructs made of water. I like that idea for Ben, too! Then they could maybe even slip in some extra aliens! It'd be a real shame if they didn't give you one or two extra ones to unlock in the Adventure World, like the Fionna sword from the Adventure Time world.
  6. FINALLY! Rocket has some attitude! Some personality! That's exactly what was missing from the first Rocket minifigs! Could that be a new mold? It doesn't look like he has the molded mouth anymore.
  7. That Azrael is fantastic!! I definitely want that guy in my collection! Where's that cape from?
  8. Half the cast, huh? Do you think it'll be Trey or Matt that gets the boot? The difference is in how drastic the designs are from one another. New molds are one thing, but it'd be hard to translate just about any Steven Universe character directly into Lego form. I'm not saying that mature cartoons don't or can't have toy lines, I just mean that Cartoon Network doesn't seem to want to give Steven Universe one because of its less "8-12 year old boys" market. They tried action figures with the likes of Adventure Time and Regular Show and they didn't do nearly as well as they need to (not to mention Young Justice's absolute failure of a toyline) and it seems like they're trying to move away from that for those sorts of shows. Adventure Time is an exception because of how the audience shifted, starting with a massive Hot Topic crowd and now being left to the usual 8-12 target audience. It's not as unlikely as most themes to make it into the game, but I'd say it's still too unlikely for anyone to get their hopes up over. Oh wow, okay, I stand corrected. These actually look pretty rad. It actually does bring up another question, though: with color being such an integral aspect of the show's style, would they be making parts in new colors? Amethyst could get away with a lavender and Pearl would be fine in white, but I don't think I own a single brick that's close to Garnet's official skin tone.
  9. Oh wow, I'm definitely not getting the Lashina set now!
  10. I feel like Ben 10 would be a perfect fit if it weren't for one thing: Lego's suit wheels only have 8 slots. If they could somehow kick that number up to 10, they could totally include each of Ben's aliens, since they all have applicable features. They'd probably go with the rebooted version, since that would make the most logistical sense, but I could see them adding in elements from all 5 shows (if they don't make a time-travel area that involves Ben 10,000 or at least Alien Force Ben they're out of their minds). I wouldn't be too surprised if we saw Ben join Dimensions next year. Steven Universe is a much less likely, though, for two reasons: 1. The designs don't lend themselves to minifigs very well at all. 2. Cartoon Network seems to treat Steven Universe as a more mature IP from a marketing standpoint. All of the merchandise for SU tends to lean toward clothing, blind bag figures, plush toys, the sorts of things you'd expect to find on sale at Hot Topic or FYE. Adventure Time and Powerpuff Girls are both pretty toy-heavy shows. Once Steven Universe gets an action figure line, though, that'll change things.
  11. I love that Harley! Even her hammer is fantastic! I've been gone a little bit, but would it be too terribly off-topic to acknowledge the fact that the Wonder Twins and the Token Minority Superfriends are in this movie? If this CMF theme somehow gets a wave 2, or there're another couple of sets we don't know about, I pray they at least slip the Wonder Twins in there, because there is no way we'd ever get them otherwise. It's kind of a shame that characters like them and Crazy Quilt and Polka-Dot Man got the shaft in exchange for some novelty Batsuits and alternate outfits in the CMFs. I'd gladly trade our two Barbara Gordons and any Batsuit for any new character.
  12. The Guardians figures are looking pretty good! That Taserface figure is especially neat to me. They really got that guy's look down and used some pretty unusual pieces for it. I'm really impressed by how much versatility the Ms. Marvel figure has, but I still wish more than anything that there was some way to give her normal minifigure arms. Something about either her face print or her hair seem off to me, too. I'll have to play around with that. Super Adaptoid is just as underwhelming as I imagined he'd be. The Cap figure's not bad, though I don't think I have any use for his parts. If it wasn't for Kamala, I'd probably be passing on this set.
  13. Oh man. I've seen a lot of minifigs in Juniors sets that I've wanted but I've always let them slide in the end. This guy? This guy I'm getting. That Mr. Freeze is beautiful. The fun part is going to be seeing which combo I like better now that I'll have 3 different sets of pieces to choose from! If I can get two of those heads, I might just make both the Arkham one and a B:tAS one!
  14. These are all great figs, but I am LOVING your Ragman and Ratcatcher! You have a really great attention to detail! I used the Pirates of the Caribbean Blackbeard head for mine back in the day. For hair, I'd go with the Draco hair in black or, if you're feeling adventurous, Clouse's hair from Ninjago or the Hunter Orc hair piece would be worth checking out for longer options. The Barbossa torso is smart, but you might consider these two options as well (1) (2). When it comes to Savage, anything dark blue and militant will work pretty well for you. I'm actually a little tempted to see what I can do with my parts now!
  15. That is really weird. I wonder if maybe it's a sort of homage to Arkham Knight (where Riddler makes a bunch of racetracks because I guess those are kinda like puzzles??) or if maybe both the sets and the game share a common influence? Although, to be fair, a set that did go with Ed's MO would be a little lame, since you can't really build a puzzle without figuring out the answer.
  16. Heh...May...Spider-Man...hehe
  17. I just checked and the gold shoulders were definitely on the Civil War suit. These do look a bit thicker, though.. We were talking about the Iron Man suit. Speaking of Spidey's web wings, I wonder if they'll try to squeeze some kind of play feature out of those? Trust me, Shocker's outfit gets a lot closer to the comics than the one in that trailer:
  18. They were based on Ultimate Spider-Man and loosely on Avengers Assemble, yeah. The first 3 episodes of JLA are online and feature Parasite, Firestorm, and Lobo in terms of likely characters we haven't seen yet. The villain lineup has been impressive enough to make me Google things and Batman's just barely in 2 episodes so far, so we could get some really great stuff out of this. I hope they treat it like Avengers Assemble and try not to stylize them too much, mostly just focus on getting the characters from the show in sets.
  19. Is it new? It doesn't look all that different from Civil War's from what I can tell.
  20. I LITERALLY just came by here to say that! I think those guys might wind up being my favorite figures of the year, to be honest. That sounds like it'll be incredibly neat. Now, back to watching the trailer on repeat for the next few hours!
  21. I'd settle for John Stewart or Kilowog on that front. I just hope we get another really good DC wave after this year. Maybe if Justice League Action does well enough we'll start to see some sets come out of that. They've got a really great variety of characters going for them with generally comic-accurate designs. It's a little early to talk about 2018, I know, but I guess my point is that 2017 looks really good for obscure villains and alternate designs, but pretty lame for desired characters on the minifig front and they definitely need to make up for that in the near future.
  22. I have the Wii U version, and I haven't really regretted it. If you're going to do a lot of multiplayer, beware that the two control schemes are gonna be hard to switch between (My friend and I both had to work through the Wii remote controls together and that was mostly just to walk around an Adventure World). But if those Nintendo exclusives happen, you'll be one of the few who will benefit from it!
  23. I took my 2012 Batcave apart recently since it was taking up too much space and just left the Batcomputer section intact, but that Batpole feature was the hardest thing for me to take apart! That was such a neat mechanic!
  24. I hope they do a new Milano, since I missed out on the last one. I was really hoping Mantis would wind up being green, but I'm hyped for her both in the film and in minifigure form! I'm certainly on board for that! Robbie's been my favorite Ghost Rider since I read his first issue, and I was really hoping that, against the odds, that would be the version they'd do in the set. I don't know of too many other characters that can make use of the flaming head, so they might be inclined to let the Rider out again sometime down the line.
  25. As nice as comic accuracy is, I'd much rather have the character in some form than not at all. Marvel's pulling characters that debuted within the less 10 years while DC has given us just past the bare minimum in terms of iconic DC characters. Marvel's over there doing Scarlet Spider and Hyperion while we can't even get Atom or Firestorm despite them starring in a pretty successful television series. It's just such a bummer to be going an entire year without a single new hero, especially when they're not even scratching that many pre-existing itches in the villain department (save for Ares, Clayface, Bizarro, and Doomsday). I'm really hoping that DC has one really big surprise up its sleeve for this year, as unlikely as that is.
