Hourman is a toughy, because yellow hoods don't exist. I reversed the color palette on mine to avoid that, which I'm pretty sure is accurate to a few versions. The Chima Wilhurt figure has a decent torso for him. Doctor Mid-Nite is less hard. The Mighty Micros Batman head, or just a head with a black helmet and goggles, would be cool. I've seen a lot of Robin torsos used for him, but the muscly red goblin torsos from Nexo Knights or one of the Speed Champions torsos could work for you.

There were other leaks? It's times like these that make me really hate the rule about not posting unofficial images :/ Oh wow, what a- wait, no, actually this was pretty much expected. There goes that pun. Irony is a cruel mistress.- 5,808 replies

Can't wait to see what Hela looks like without that headdress, because that's gotta be a really interesting head print. I don't mind Loki's new outfit, it's some nice parts, but I would've much preferred a greener version of his Avengers outfit, and some hair.- 5,808 replies

Ooo, that's a nice one!

Ooo, perfect! I just got the Detroit Steel set, and the Justin Hammer figure is, well...no thanks...but I can't think of any characters with glasses now that I have a good head with glasses! Any suggestions?

I'm not gonna lie, the second that set showed up online we all rejoiced at the long-awaited Flash legs, but the Booster Gold is definitely new and definitely useful!! Your first two links both go to Firefly, thought you'd like to know

I actually really like that Eclipso set! The Invisible Jet looks a little too similar to the one we already have, especially since it's not terribly accurate to the show, but I'm loving the Wonder Woman flight suit variant, and I'm kinda glad they didn't give Barry a mask, since he almost never wears one in the show. It would've been nice to have one of those hoodie pieces used here in place of it, though, if for no other reason than to finally get it in red. Ok, update: ALL those sets look really good! Is that Harley set the first example of Thor's hammer being used outside of a Marvel set? That Supergirl set comes with two capes for some reason, but looks really neat! I'm loving the Batgirl set, especially that little drone up in the left corner, and the Mad Harriet doll's hair is going to be so useful not only for a regular Mad Harriet figure but potentially for a custom Fire figure, too! This line has been so fun so far, and I never expected it to be! If only some of this could start rubbing off on the main DC sets more! Also: there's gotta be a new Poison Ivy appearance in our future, with City introducing those new venus flytrap molds!

Thank you, and welcome! I was just looking at the ToyFair footage of the Spidey sets again, and I noticed that our Not-Hulk's gun has a big orange tag on the side that says "DODC". Knowing what we know now, it's safe to say that the "DC" part stands for Damage Control, but the "DO" is a mystery. Either way, a really neat detail that I'm glad they included! Makes me appreciate that set all the more, even if it did leave out Iron-Thief and Thor-Stolensum- 5,808 replies

Ooo! How did I miss this post?? That's a brilliant idea!! Maybe the old old Mr. Freeze head, or the Lego Movie robot heads? I'd just focus on the most expressionless head with the most striking red eyes you can find. I'd try for one of the old-old red helmets, too, if you can, though the newer ones would work just fine!

Just heard a bunch of talk over on the Marvel thread about how much everyone wishes Peter's homemade suit would be in the Spider-Man: Homecoming sets, and I realized that we could make one that's basically spot-on ourselves! Here's a link to my concept Recipe being, essentially, plain blue arms with red hands on the CMF devil kid's red hoodie torso, with red and blue molded legs. The head's up to preference. I used the CMF Red Hood helmet, but you could go with the regular Red Hood helmet, Deadpool's head, Scarlet Spider/Spider-Woman's head, or whatever floats your boat, really. Oh yeah, and if you're a "Stickers count" purist, you can always use that spider emblem from the Spider-Trike set for the torso!

With Peter's suit-swapping being such a major plot point, I'm surprised they didn't include the homemade one. I'm still holding out hope for some kind of a release for that suit, though admittedly, if you've saved your stickers from the Spider-Trike, it wouldn't be terribly hard to make a purist custom alternative.- 5,808 replies

That's kinda disappointing in a way. I passed on the BvS Wonder Woman just because I figured this would be the same figure in a better, cheaper set. Guess I'm waiting for Justice League on that front? Secrets don't make friends, rob-ot I'm hoping our Aquaman is shirtless, or at least we get a shirtless one. I'm not really digging his armor. It doesn't look like the one on the box is. I also wonder if Cyborg's torso will have the weird little slit in the middle or the actual circular light from the most recent trailer. Hopefully some new pictures and info are on their way, because my JL hype is at an all-time high!

Thank you so much! That Squirrel Girl isn't just great, she's- dare I say it? -unbeatable!! Of course, the next obvious question is: how are we gonna do Cat-Thor? I love that Dormammu! I've been wanting to make him for awhile to fill out my batch of Marvel mystics!

I'd say she'll have a rubber headdress, like Loki's helmet. The Capaldi cut or the Joker hair in some shade of bley would've been ideal, so I'd work in that range.- 5,808 replies

I'd rather MCU characters be than their comic counterparts, honestly. Like, I'd trade MCU Falcon for that Falcon Cap figure from 2015 without any hesitation. It helps that I've yet to see the MCU design a better costume than the comics already have, though.- 5,808 replies

I'm honestly kinda disappointed. Hela looks fine enough but ultimately unmemorable, not only does Valkyrie not look like her comic book counterpart in any way, but she also just looks really boring. I adore Grandmaster in the movie, but that figure lacks all the vibrancy and weirdness that makes his design so cool in the first place. Actually, it's not dissimilar to why I really don't care for the Ancient One figure. Using the Pearl Gold torso instead of Bright Light Orange, it takes away a lot of the color and pop of it. I'd rather my MCU figures be vibrant and exciting than accurately drab like that.- 5,808 replies

X-Men characters haven't prevented Marvel from doing anything else like this before. Just putting a picture of Wolverine in paper isn't enough to screw them over financially or undermine the other 50-some characters in the book. Marvel's only been easing restrictions on X-Men stuff as of late anyway, with action figures, Funko toys, more comics, and even another Lego set (albeit a very, very small one). It could simply be the whole Disney/Warner drama of appeasing two competing brands, or they could just simply be uninterested in the market. The latter seems more likely, since Marvel hasn't even had a complete character encyclopedia for a good couple of years, and DC seems to publish one every other. I find it necessary to reiterate that the X-Men and Fantastic Four drought has little to do with movie rights and basically everything to do with merchandising rights. When Sony bought the Spider-Man movie rights, they ONLY bought the movie rights, so Marvel could keep producing toys and cartoons and what-have-you and collect all of the profit from them while the movies only aided in Spidey's popularity (which is why we've never been devoid of Spider-Man stuff) but Fox bought the movie rights and an undisclosed-but-clearly-pretty-large portion of the merch rights, so when Marvel makes a Cyclops action figure, they're making significantly less money than they'd make by producing a Brother Voodoo one, so Marvel's done what they do best and brought the characters they CAN make all the money off of into the forefront and focused less on the ones that don't bring home quite as much bacon. Deadpool's the major exception, though, because he just makes SO MUCH money.- 5,808 replies

Even worse is that the costume itself is pretty lame. All of those post-Convergence Trinity redesigns were garbage. It's a decent enough figure, and honestly there aren't many good costume variations for Wonder Woman since people tend to either leave her design her alone or light it on fire and beat it with a stick, but it's definitely not a variant figure I've been itching for. According to Comicbook.com, it's pretty likely that he won't actually.

Welp, guess I'm not getting rid of my Wii U any time soon. It just became my dedicated Dimensions machine. Hopefully they find some way of getting less traditional licenses to us. They seem to be trying to compete with companies like Funko, and it's hard to imagine them pulling the plug on their biggest source of pop culture merch without a secondary source. That might just be what happens with BrickHeadz, but it's the minifigure style that's really made Lego so iconic, so sooner or later they'll have to fill that void or lose the pop culture collectibles market.
