  1. I just hope it works with cars scaled to the Senna and the Chevrolet.
  2. For me, there's three levels. I organise car races with my LUG, so I've developed a standard chassis that helps first timers join these races. For these kinds of models, I use only the most common parts. Meaning: they can't be old or out of production, but they can't be too new or rare either. (Edit: I am well aware that PF is out of production by now.) example: Then, there are models that use new and shiny parts, but that are still buildable with some bricklinking. I try to put at least an LDD file online for these, as they are intended to be built by other AFOLs: (Check www.vayamenda.com for more of these) And then there's the models that are just for me, where I will use anything and everything I can get my hands on: I don't really expect anyone to replicate this.
  3. If Lego sells sets to consumers with stressed parts that may fail, they may end up with massive costs replacing parts and a bad image for selling faulty products. If they build a model with stressed parts for promotional purposes- who cares? They only need it to stay together to shoot some video of it.
  4. These pullback models don't really have a lot of weight, and the jeep tires don't have a lot of grip, since the rubber compound seems to be harder than the current tires. So with less traction, it's more likely that the wheels will just spin instead of launching the vehicle forward. Fun for burnouts maybe, but not great for playing.
  5. Are you absolutely sure it's not just a ? The door handle uses a regular blue pin with axle.
  6. That's great to hear! I see Sariel's beaten me to it. Thanks for helping out! I've also got a link to the page.
  7. Finally, a 4-wide steering wheel in the new ghostbusters set: https://www.brothers-brick.com/2020/11/05/lego-ghostbusters-10274-ecto-1-everybody-can-relax-i-found-the-car-review/lego-ghostbusters-10274-ecto1-15-lx7ui/
  8. I am. If technic just consisted of red, yellow, white and black models I would be bored out of my skull. The technic isle in the stores would look the same each year. That doesn't help attracting customers. I get why you think it's a problem, and that getting parts for a monochrome MOC can be very difficult. However, have you considered not building single-colour MOCs? Rare colours can also be used to add a bit of flair to otherwise plain builds:
  9. You seem to have lost the point somewhere. It was never the intention of the retailer that these pictures got out to the public. He trusted someone who betrayed that trust. If we can go by the instagram story, of course. However, even in the instagram story the retailer knowingly and willingly shared the pictures with someone who shouldn't have had them. Also, I want to bet that the watermarks aren't the only thing that can identify the source of a leak to Lego. There are an infinite number of tiny variations or discolorations they could have put into the catalogues so that each is unique and identifiable in some way. just covering up watermarks is not going to cut it.
  10. "Because he wasn't the one leaking the pictures" Yes he was.
  11. It's all plastic, so rust shouldn't be a problem.
  12. I work best when I have a deadline. Competitions, meetings and shows are a good excuse to turn up with a new model. Since meetings and shows have been canceled, my output has been lacking as well.
  13. Most of the parts of the 42113 Osprey are now available on Bricks & Pieces. Sadly, the rotor blades aren't available yet.
  14. Jang has said his thing; het put it better than I could: https://youtu.be/FL-C96iAJ6M?t=956
  15. Apart from all this whining about the set not getting a release, can I whine about its functionality? It seems like the separate nacelles seem really wobbly, as seen in this video at 11:50 https://youtu.be/UFQLVez8m6w?t=711
  16. Tons of arguments that just boil down to "they already went this far, I am really upset they didn't take it just this one step further!" Gotta draw the line somewhere. Personally, I would've drawn it earlier.
  17. Toastie; thanks for the background info, there was a lot of misinformation on it.
  18. Ya gotta draw the line somewhere, I suppose. So far, I don't think Lego messed up this much in a single model.
  19. I think Lego made a bad call from the start developing this model in the first place. I get it, it's got interesting functions. But throwing money at an arms manufacturer to produce a military vehicle (c'mon, those few stickers don't fool anyone) is a bad look.
  20. I have a completely baseless prediction: Lego is going to produce a dedicated part to make 1x1 stud piston engines. Both the cement truck and the volvo hauler have had problems getting their engines to run smoothly, and I think a dedicated part may help a lot. I think they're going to start with an axle part, with maybe a possibility of attaching 1x1 round tiles to get different piston colours. But they also may decide a shorter cam part would be an improvement. Like I said, this isn't based on anything. But their continued use of 1x1 cylinder engines instead of the regular piston engines might merit an investment down the line.
  21. Thank you! This honestly made my day Sorry if my previous post came across as a bit sour- it's just that this colour discussion doesn't bring much new to the table. As for the Sian itself- I'm pleasantly surprised. It's evolutionary rather than revolutionary, but it's a more attractive model than the Chiron. The door and spoiler mechanisms seem solid, and don't require a silly extra "key". Also, I'm very much in favour of all the new parts that have been introduced in Lime. I don't know if it's a side effect of Lego's 18+ branding, but the usage of different colours seem to be reduced a bit from previous models.
  22. Is there a way to automatically hide any posts mentioning the phrase "blue pins"? These people have nothing worthwhile to add to the discussion. Welcome to 2007. Lego is a company with a target audience of laypeople, not experts. If someone who doesn't have your galaxy brain buys a set and gets frustrated, they won't buy another one. Hence blue pins. If this is such a sore point for you, I recommend not giving them your money.
