Simtek S941

That's rather impossible at this scale without making everything extremely bulky and out of proportion. -

Second pass of the Simtek S941. Redone part of the engine cover around the back so the purple and black flow better like the art on the real car. Also changed the side of the engine cover to cheese slopes. And the rear wing should be more structurally sound, the engine bay seen some minor tweaks including the flag of Austria representing Roland Ratzenberger :) Also made it stand compatible. Instructions are something for the future, i need to look at it some more. I also need to find someone to do stickers, but i think MattsBrickMocs would be happy to do these. -

Yep, it's the Imola version of the car. -
Was bored from gaming for a couple of days and decided to grind my gears recreating this car in Icons scale :) This has only been built in digital form, as i have no parts at hand for a test build. I was surprised it was possible at all with the limited purple inventory. It could look better if more purple tiles were available and i was a more skilled builder :)

Something i tried the other day. A better looking exhaust, as it bothered me since i saw it.

My enhanced version is now available for free :) https://rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-256015/TheDeeGee/f2004-enhanced/#details

Would love to see Mika Häkkinen's Championship winning car from 1998/1999, and looking at the car more closely i think it should be possible in LEGO Icons Scale. They already have the rims for it aswell with the F2004. Though seeing there is a Alonso Helmet coming, i think their next car will be the 2005 Renault.

Some better comparisons of my modded version, next to a heavily modded Williams FW14B and the Original LEGO model.

@TheLegoMuseum I have some good news, i've been working on instructions. Which turns out to be easier than expected (for a small model anyway) and is actually quite zen to do. Since this will be the first time it's slow going and i also have to sort out a parts list, but i'll figure it out.

I dunno, i have no interest in doing instructions. So if i do release it you'd have to pick apart the model in Bricklink Studio to see how it's built. As for sticker placement, only the one on the side of the nose would need to be trimmed as it's on a 2x4 in the official model. Or it can be left off. Prototyp and Bentobrick on Rebrickable will also be modding it, and both do instructions. I did share my model with Bentobrick for idea sharing.

Final modding pass, with comparison of the original model.
-
No, it's the same as the official model as i mainly care about the exterior looks. I'm sure Prototyp (on Rebrickable) will make make it the same as he did for his MP4/4 and WF14B mods.

First modding pass :)

In LEGO terms the rear tires would need to be but a plate thickness wider for the rear, so i understand the choice for the same size front and back. Anyway, this model will have many issues like the previous cars. So i will wait for the Bentobrick treatment Like it looks fine up to the cockpit, but then it falls apart. The airbox should extend all the way to the rear wing, the red anyway as it currently ends with the white Marlboro logo, and the T-Cam needs to be fixed for sure. Also the rear wing seems to be far too high, or either the airbox is too low. And overall the car seems a bit too stubby looking, it could use a 2 brick length increase.
