  1. Very nice and different. Most of the SHIPS I've seen this month tend to the thin and slender microscale side, so this realish chunky minfig scale? creation is quite refreshing. If I have any critique, it is perhaps that the cranes seem a little less incorporated (or tacked on) and skinny than they could be. Maybe some additional structure or complexity would make it more interesting and more structurally believable. Good job anyway. I don't think I have enough devotion to SHIP. Maybe someday?
  2. On the sets themselves... I don't have much to say, but on your review... Well, nicely done on all technical points, but I actually laughed out loud at "parrot," dog catapult, "oh deer," and "shittier doghouse." I certainly did not expect that. GOURD job.
  3. Very interesting. Yeah, if you and lightningtiger ever MOCed together, there would be some epic building for this style.
  4. Guys, do we soon forget that what the picture is not necessarily what we get? LEGO will re-design every Cuusoo winner. Cuusoo sets tend to be in the smaller end of the price range, so it is unlikely that we would get such a huge building. If it passes, we will probably just get the team, the car and one ghost for like $45 US.
  5. Looked around and no body has mentioned it? The "women minifig series" hit 10K. If no one has made a thread, maybe someone could make a proper one for discussion. Or if it's not exciting enough, discuss here.
  6. Thanks all for the kind words! Good idea for a shower curtain, flailx - it's a little tight for this one methinks, but I have another residence that might have the room. I'm pretty happy with this one, especially that I used those giant sloped wall panels.
  7. A quaint little cottage in Classic Town open back style done to keep my Town skills fresh perhaps. Amenities of this starter home include: - Open kitchen with bay window seating nook - Front porch with occupiable roof deck - Brick exterior, with siding on bay and ornate woodwork and railings at porch - Basic landscape package with built in flower boxes - Second floor bedroom with built in desk and under-bed storage - Full bath with spacious shower and Flush-A-Brick toilet - Small home for small budgets! You can click the Flickr link for a bigger photo. Comments, critiques, and what-have-you always welcome. 612 Countryside Lane by TheWarden007, on Flickr
  8. Please no CMF series, please no CMF series, please no CMF series... I hate blind packaging and I buy none of it anymore. I'll probably buy every set until I get the whole family, but if they CMF bag it... nope. I'll just Bricklink it.
  9. Wow, what a keen idea. I await the multitude of photos and write-ups!
  10. Ha! I like this. I saw your avatar first so I think I knew what to expect.
  11. I don't think I have any rituals... I can't build with anything video based on, too distracting. I need concentration when I MOC. I do put on music, usually 80s stuff. Sometimes little sets I'll build while watching the news or during commercial breaks. I don't sort sets, but I sort MOC fodder of course.
  12. Fun fact: I just bought and saw UHF for the first time a few months back!
  13. Done, but it really didn't seem to ask much this time. I felt like I gave the same answers as the last, and perhaps I did.
  14. Buy both. Unique minifigs and they are only US$20, amirite? If you must ask, I think the design in the Marvel set is a little bit more fun, if I had to pick.
  15. I loled at several of these. Why not: 4. Kristel - 2 points 52. Blackagar - 1 point 51. Brickington - 1 point 22. Oky - 1 point

  17. Epic contests this month and so many good entries! Very difficult, but I guess I'll vote like so: 22. Pigs VS Cows - Ninja Nin - 1 point 40. Dinosaur extinction? - Cecilie - 1 point 5. Duh-Nuh - madLEGOman - 1 point 9. Mutant Bunnies - daisy - 1 point 8. The Parrots will conquer the world! - jedi1984 - 1 point
  18. Be very careful when you do your research on washing. I know dishwashers can be too hot with some settings and washing machines... well, I think that is bad because it scratches transparent bricks and can break them with the agitator. I wash mine in a big bucket of warm soapy dishwasher with a toothbrush, but that does take a while, but it's not too bad to do it while watching TV...
  19. Well, my plans for this year: Sets: - I will probably buy the entire TMNT line, I really like them. Haven't heard too much acclaim here at EB about the line, but they are must buys for my list. Yeah, and each set has a fig I want, arg. - The Nick Fury / Venom / Spiderman set and Freeze / Aquaman / White Bats set for sure, so much value. - Whatever KMart 50% clearance toy sale appears I check out. Last year was very good for me here at KMarts. That might be it really. If TMNT wasn't here this year, I probably wouldn't buy much. MOCs: - Last year I started the biggest project I ever attempted, a three block semi-modular style city project. (Links in my Flickr if interested.) By six months in, I had sketched and designed most of the building facades and color schemes. Currently, its about 50% complete all exteriors. So I am planning to have all exteriors done by midyear and all interiors by the end of the year. I work slow, so this should be doable. - Two VicVipers for Novvember 2013. - Two space rovers for Febrovery. - Organize bricks more / better. - Take photos of the couple mocs I haven't yet to share. - MODs/Moc of a castle for the... what do you call them, green dragon knight faction? - Quinjet MOD prolly. All I see for now.
  20. "Wings, we don't need no stinkin wings." I like the GARC. I've only started to follow the Flickr group, and it's been full of fun things so far. I might try a GARC racer before Febrovery if I can get to to it. Anyway... I like the shape and the color blocking. It might be interesting with more red/green, maybe near the nose area, but it is still interesting.
  21. Blimp, you say? Reminds me of this LEGO oddity: http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?S=5956-1
  22. Big! Like I mention in your other review, I think you could do with some more pictures / explanations: - How do the legs move? Well or stiff? How many points of articulation? How many poses can you put it in? - How does the cannon on top move? - What does the cockpit look like? It looks like it opens up. - Does the back open too? What's in there?
  23. How about a pic or two (or text) showing how the flip around sidecar function works? I can't figure it out from the back of the box. Other than that omission, fine review.
  24. Did I give out thanks yet? Thank you EB staff for the contest, the entrants for entertaining us, and pass on my thanks to LEGO for the prize support (if you talk to them).
  25. Unique contest, this was. Maybe... 1 by lego-maniac - 1 point 11 by whataboutlego - 1 point 10 by DarthNick - 1 point
