Thank you kind sir. That was the challenge posed by designing at such a small scale. In hindsight I could make the sleigh and reindeer larger, and it would still work.

Here's a quick design of a miniature-scale winter diorama, complete with what's supposed to be Father Christmas and his reindeer. It was designed for the Holiday byMe competition (where the deadline was today), so I was restricted to the Design By Me palette.

I love how the box art shows the poor guy missing his plane, and being so desperate to catch it he starts running after it on the runway But seriously: these kinds of sets were a little after my time, but they bring back so many memories - back when piloting an aeroplane was as east as pushing buttons! Of particular note is just how good quality the printed torsos are.

If something isn't readily available, and there's no chance of it turning up somewhere in the near future, I'd be willing to pay a little bit more for the privilege of ownership - otherwise I'd exercise patience. It's a little bit like Christmas/January sales, although I haven't seen a genuine Christmas/January sale to date.

I had a go at the Christmas contest, fingers are very tightly crossed. -

I double-dare you to build this But seriously, this is insane. I can't imagine how long it took you to create it in LDD. edit: I just found out how long it took you -
My goodness! I don't have anything else to say, that's a heck of a ship!

Spray/Brush Painting Lego - How?
SilentMode replied to Joey Lock's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
FWIW, I've recently painted a couple of black hair pieces, using something called Decorlack. It's a lacquer/acrylic paint that's hard to get hold of (I bought some in a closing down sale, but I could only get more of it online), but I've had very good results. -
Is the Ark of the Covenant really in Harry Potter? Anyhow, great MOC.

Placed an order for three more S3 Gorillas, and a few minifigure heads, on BrickLink.
-
Well done, folks!

Just received three S3 minifigures from BrickLink: two Sumo Wrestlers and my first Gorilla Suit. Both awesome! Despite being ganged up on for saying the gorilla would be popular, it's been well received by other collectors.

Excellent work!

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 4 discussion

I was actually going to say Blonde Girl in Blue Dress and Guy on Skateboard. -
In the build a minifig section, from memory: Heads: the usual selection of plain faces, skeletons, prisoner with gold tooth, guys with sunglasses etc. Only one or two female heads, which aren't that great. There's one flesh-coloured head with a smirk. Of note is a double-sided head, with a cheeky grin and the "shocked" look, that many MOC creators like to use. Also great if you like faces with beards. Torsos: mostly farm overalls, prison jumpers and police jackets, but they've got some doctor/nurse ones as of late. If you're lucky you can also get plain yellow torsos. Legs: plain blue, dark green, orange, black and occasionally dark (bluish) grey and white. Most likely you'll see white legs with grey hips, or dark bluish grey legs with black hips. They've thrown in some "stubby" light bluish grey legs recently. Headgear: an odd and random selection of white caps, brown/tan hair pieces, with the occasional hood and castle helmet. The most common part I've seen are "prisoner" hats. Accessories: usually there are some basic weapons, witches brooms, cups and spades. There have also been quite a few suitcases, magic wands (the one with a star) and very occasionally food items. The PAB wall, also from memory: Transparent clear cheese slopes. Transparent red 1x1 plates (I think). Quite a few black slope bricks. White 1 x 2 and 1 x 10 bricks. "F1" wheels (in light bluish grey?) and tyres. Red flowers on sprues. Palm tree leaves. Red 2 x 3 cupboards. Transparent glass doors, prison bars doors and black door frames. Small white dishes. White "grill" tiles. Most of the parts there are in blue, green, black, white and red. There are also some tan, pink and dark bluish grey 2 x 4 bricks.

A bunch of BrickLink orders to complete a couple of larger-scale projects, some S3 minifigures from the States, and a raid on Westfield's Lego Store yesterday: - Kingdoms advent calendar - female minifigure magnets (for the minifigures, of course) - six create-a-minifigures, primarily for the minifig parts and accessories.

Very, very good effort so far! What kind of paint did you use to paint the various elements? If you can get hold of some S2 or even S3 maracas, you could possibly use those to create "pokéballs".

An incredibly impressive house! There's so many details in all the rooms, it's making my head spin. Also you're lucky enough to have those uber-rare cypress trees

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 4 discussion

Anyone want to guess what the commonality of each figure will be? I have a bad feeling the distributions will be even more varied than S3. I'd guess the werewolf will be in 5s, the hazmat guy will be in 3s and the viking and gnome in 2s. -

This is awesome, I can see myself creating small armies of almost all the minifigures (although for some reason I'm not so keen on the werewolf). But the best news of all: another one of my requests (the kimono girl) is coming out, and she looks good. -

£11 for the large ones, £6 for small ones. At least before the new VAT rate kicks in. -
New Lego Store opening in Cardiff, UK!

I'd be keen to find out what the PAB wall selection is like. I've found the Bluewater store's wall has a slightly better selection than Westfield's store, but I might be tempted to visit Cardiff once the store opens (ticket hikes and all).
