  1. I suggest we make a list of things we want and have. I'm after... S3 Gorilla Suits S3 Hula Girls S1 Nurses Decorated slopes with "interfaces" (e.g. this or this) Crystals and jewels Any spare minifig parts, particularly hairpieces and torsos. I have... 1x6 yellow tiles 1x6 medium orange tiles and everything you see in my BrickLink store.
  2. VAT.
  3. 2 x 3177 Small Car from Argos, with a third reserved for tomorrow. It looks a lot better in my hands than it did on the box!
  4. Having seen the rest of the review, I think I might have a look at getting this set after all. Part 3 really saved it for me!
  5. I'm reliant on public transport, but I should be able to find a bus that goes to Westfield.
  6. Not a bad overview of the set. How much is it retailing for? I'm mostly keen on green suitcases and the number of new and unusual parts, but those minifigures have got to go. The only one I can really stomach is the collection police officer. I will reserve judgement on the rest until part two!
  7. Yes. Stand proud!

    MOC: Cabin

The cabin is awesome, especially against the backdrop of the rails and wind turbine. I want one of these! I also envy you for your abundance of white fences.
  9. Very clean and simple! Nice work.
  10. Excellent job on both vignettes! I remember seeing one of those king crab things over the Christmas holiday, where one of the rookie fishermen fell overboard and almost died of hypothermia. (Someone should tell him I don't like crab.)
  11. Do you reckon it's worth the discounted price? I am tempted to get just one. Maybe two.
  12. Prince of Persia Ostrich Race still in stock and discounted at John Lewis, for GBP 7. Heck, I think I'll get a couple more for the heck of it. I need more ostrich, damnit!
  13. Welcome to the show Zoidy. Hope you get your collection from your folks' house eventually! I have some tucked away somewhere, haven't been able to track it down though.
  14. Likewise, +1 to charlieboy for a trade. Picked up from the sorting office today.
  15. Awesome space station! It puts mine to shame and then some. I'm hoping to get hold of the space station set from this year.
  16. I'd definitely agree. Sometimes I just want to grab some heads, without having to purchase a torso, legs, headpiece and accessory as well.
  17. Inspired by Toa_Of_Justice's hovering racecar, I created this "set" during some down time yesterday. I also had the idea of creating a sub-theme called ExIT (Exploration and Import Team) with its own colour scheme. Just about everything (other than the invalid hairpieces) is either in my possession or being ordered; I'm only missing the black 8x8 round plate. This set would probably retail for GBP 9.99, taking the diabolical VAT increase into consideration.
  18. What kind of parts are you after?
  19. That's the first thing I noticed - my very first S3 figure was the rapper, and I was surprised to see just one mic. None of the figures have any extras, and I think this is a precedent.
  20. All right, I'm in I will probably be grabbing some more figures for extras. Have a look at my BrickLink shop for anything you want - I've also come into a number of 1x6 yellow and medium orange(?) tiles.
  21. I mostly buy parts from BL, but I've bought two smallish sets, of which one is in the post. So far I haven't had any issues, touch wood: the description accompanying the set listing in the shop was accurate. It's quite uncommon for used sets to include their original boxes, although you might be able to get them separately. I usually decide by the number of items in my Wanted List(s) that the store has in stock, and the collective price of those items - or if I'm looking for a specific part I'd look for the best price for its condition. I would also look for a shop in the UK before considering one abroad, but usually the prices in shops abroad are lower. Also important are shipping costs, and whether the shop adds anything to the grand total. Gotta watch out for those extras, particularly when using Pain-in-the-ayPal. Always keep in mind how much you'd be willing to pay for a set/part. Also keep an eye on the forum for posts about sales and offers of coupons.
  22. Great job on the review, and I appreciate that someone made a review for this set. I can now understand why it's priced over GBP 100 on Lego S@H - that thing is huge!. I think the main temptation for purchasing this set will be those Maersk Blue bricks (I had a look around once I found out it was released, and they are apparently Maersk Blue)... I know if I came upon this set I wouldn't bother building the ship. But I like the amount of detail in the model, particularly the crates. But I have no idea which company this boat is for.
  23. It depends how many of the figures in this set you wanted, I suppose.
  24. Given John Lewis a helping hand with those Ostrich Race sets: two of them ordered for pickup. My collection requires more ostrich.
  25. You guys have some really sweet parts in your PAB walls. Over here we don't have nearly as many plates and tiles, and the bricks are usually odd colours.
