  1. Thank you lightningtiger... There weren't any problems with the kids, except many of them liked to lean on the table and point at things! They particularly liked that there were a number of Gorilla and Hazmat Suit Guys in the display. It was surprising to hear how knowledgeable some of them were about past Lego sets as well! The delicatessen was a very recent build, designed around three weeks ago and built just in time for the convention; although it looks complete there are some parts that didn't arrive in time. The pizzeria (next to the deli) and the night club (the blue building) weren't posted before.
  2. Wasn't sure where to post this (either the themes or the events thread), but the models themselves would probably be best suited to the Town theme. Anyhow, I've gotten around to uploading some photos of my display at AFOLcon over the weekend, and you can see the rest of them in my Flickr set. It was great to be able to show my work to the public for the first time, and it was an awesome event. My display was right next to Cecile, and her Collectible Minifigure vignettes.
  3. Updated my post with my last two figures.
  4. Thanks to the tip-off, I bought one of these today. It was the only set out of the five or so on offer that appealed to me, although I almost bought the buggy. It's definitely worth it to get hold of the new figures, although I would have liked an extra gun.
  5. 3 points to entry #9, 2 points each to entries #30 and #31, based on being actual sets.
  6. Welcome to the show! I also like pasta, perhaps too much!
  7. Thanks for reviewing this set! I've been anticipating this boat, being a fan (and now owner) of the Cabin Cruiser. While the price point seems okay, the boat is ruined for me by having the dark grey on the boat base. It would be good to see the boats side-by-side, but right now I will also have to pass.
  8. I picked up a few at a very large Sainsburys in Vauxhall, earlier this week, at £1.50. Another smaller Sainsburys had them for £2.
  9. Check out Asda if you have the chance. I was at the big one in Clapham Junction yesterday, and they had: - Sunblock, Shave a Sheep and the banana game for £5 each; - the smaller Ramses game, the frog game and a couple of same-sized others for under £8; - just a couple of discounted Toy Story sets; - some discounted Ninjago figures, including the DX versions.
  10. It was meant for me
  11. Welcome to the show!
  12. If it helps: I had the same issue with 32-bit Windows 7, and none of the solutions I'd seen had worked - but 64-bit Windows 7 was fine.
  13. Not bad at all!
  14. Hazmat Sut Guys would make a good modern army; they would work whether there's one of 100 of them. For me, however, it's all about Gorilla Suits.
  15. +1 to Gregorovich, leg supplier to the stars.
  16. If there's a space-related RCB in the future, I'm in.
  17. (apologies for blurriness) If anyone wants these, hit me up.
  18. Touché to the frankenbiting. I just think those particular pieces should be more common.
  19. I'm just hoping the graduates aren't two per box.
  20. Some more ideas... Since Lego is sticking with 1x4x6 door frames, it would be great to have more door styles: particularly the glass doors in a non-transparent colour, and these kinds: And, though not new elements, I would make a plea to bring back 1x1 round plates and cones in green.
  21. Why not? He was supposed to have dark blue legs and hips, but it doesn't matter.
  22. +1 to the man of the moment, EverettYA.
  23. There's something about the lighting used on those models, that gives the impression they're trying to fluff up how much there is in the box. For whatever reason it doesn't sit well. Nevertheless, I'm still looking forward to the lighthouse.
  24. For my display at AFOLcon in a couple of weeks, I've got a bit of a shortage of minifigure legs. Of all the parts...) I'm looking for between 20-30 hips and legs for civilians, in just about any colour or design. Although I could grab some from a Lego store's build-a-fig, they don't have much of a range and I'm not sure I could get away with it! I wouldn't expect them for free either, I will buy them or we can do a trade.
