LEGO Collectable Minifgures Series 8 Rumours & Discussion
Jargo replied to Piranha's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Businessman - I'll want several. DJ - Must have. Love the torso print. Conquistador - Will be a museum exhibit with a plain yellow head in my town. Rodeo girl - Like it, want it. Diver - Oh yes. Perfect city museum fodder. Skier - Want her just because I have the other winter sports minifigs. Thespian - Fantastic. More museum fodder. The ruff is perfect. Cheerleader - I could use the legs for a MOC tennis payer. Otherwise not wanted. American footballer - No use to me. The trophy will be worth getting from bricklink. Finally a trophy in minifig scale. Santa - The hat and sack look like useful parts but I don't want a santa. It'll never be christmas in my town. Austrian pretzel guy - Nice but not going to fit with anything I have planned. I'll bricklink the pretzel though. Robot - I don't like it. Didn't like the last one either. The bucket head is too big and I think I prefer the clockwork robot. Alien - Looks lovely but I have no use for it. The alien grey fulfills my alien needs. Fairy - Not hot. I don't like fairies. They're just overgrown butterflies who backchat. Vampire - Can't think of any place I'd use him even though he looks great. Pirate - Think I've had my fill of pirate captains. Some regular historical sailors would be nice as a change. -
"You are a unique kind of LEGO fan!" I don't think the page displayed properly? Is that an archetype?

I'm not fond of military themes but I like the look of OM3307. Nifty.

What would it take for you to stop purchasing Lego?
Jargo replied to Blackicep8ntball's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Boohoohooo whinge whine moan. That's all I hear. And I'll bet if every single brick was 100% top quality and cost more the same people would whinge whine and moan that they were being ripped off. If they're that bothered then fine, quit buying the stuff and leave the rest of us to carry on and maybe get some peace. -
LEGO Collectable Minifgures Series 8 Rumours & Discussion

I never completely believe any list until pictures appear. Too often some fan wishlist gets reported as fact and gets people's hopes up only to end in anger and disappointment. Take everything with a pinch of salt until visible proof is given. -
LEGO Collectable Minifgures Series 8 Rumours & Discussion

Given how British-centric Lego have been recently I'd like to think the trader or businessman might be a classic bowler hatted City trader with briefcase or umbrella. With the lovely bowler hat only coming in grey and blue, a black one would please an awful lot of people. I'd guess that the ancient Thespis would have alternate comedy and tragedy faces. Or even better mask headgear. The list doesn't fill me with excitement but I'm sure when the pictures show up I'll find plenty to like. -
AFOL Shopping at Lego UK stores Sunday 3 June 2012

Nothing is worth losing a Sunday lie-in for. Not even Lego. -

Do expressions on minifigs matter to you?
Jargo replied to lego idk's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Ditto. Okay I'll also say that I try to give each minifig a distinct character trait. so some are grumpy some are happy some are sceptical etc. I buy minifig heads from all the themes apart from licensed just to vary the expressions. Give some life to my collection. There's nothing so dull as a sea of those classic lego minifig faces. Onwards and forwards always. Progress. I have no time for the past. -
That may just be the best polybag EVER!

I like Brickarms and Brickforge Aerealight's scooter is a custom item I have a few of. I don't mind where extra bits and bobs come from if the fulfil a purpose not covered by Lego. I AM very choosy about the parts I augment my Lego with though. I doubt I would cut or glue or paint anything but have no objections to anyone else doing so to create something different. Actually, I would cut hoses to whatever length I needed. Or replace string if I needed something thicker or thinner than Lego standard thickness. When I was a boy I had no qualms about altering Lego. Melting, cutting, painting, gluing were common occurrences in my little projects. I have more restraint now and the money to buy parts and pieces to achieve results I could only dream about back then. I now have the ability to create stickers too. It is all down to personal preference and taste in any hobby. I think what other people do should be the least of your worries and that energy should be put into your own work. make whatever you do the best you can do and that's all anyone should care about.

How rude. I'm seeing more and more of this sort of cocky dismissive attitude and frankly I don't like it. It takes the enjoyment and fun out of the Lego community. Why say anything at all. If you don't like something you should move on or find a better way to communicate. Not everyone has master builder abilities and not every creation can be all bells and whistles. Everyone deserves encouragement and constructive comments. That's how people learn and improve. Slagging something and someone's ability off is not helpful and adds nothing to any conversation. And I'm not being a mini mod here this is one FOL to another.

The way I see it, putting an idea on CUUSOO is much the same as putting something on Flikr and adding a caption along the lines of 'gee, it'd be great if Lego made a set like this'. People should be grateful that others like their idea enough to say so in comments or support clicks. but at the end of the day Lego can pick and choose all or nothing from the CUUSOO projects. same as they can choose to borrow from an idea on Flikr. They're probably more likely to take on a project that has slowly accrued support through genuine interest rather than organised support rallies.

They're Dark orange and Dark green. The only red is their eyes. Plus the marines are a new red. Dark sand red if I recall correctly.

Do any of your significant others share your love of Lego?
Jargo replied to dark1san's topic in General LEGO Discussion
My partner was away for two weeks recently and when he finally came home he brought me three large PAB cups filled with the weirdest assortment of parts but top marks for effort. Now I just have to figure out a use for tons of trans neon yellow 2x2 round bricks and about a bajillion trans clear cheese slopes. Not to mention tons of those 2x2 flowers from creator and belville.... -
In that article they mention local residents. Haven't they all been turfed out so this lead balloon can occupy the space communities once inhabited? oh, and it's 'emigrate'. you are an immigrant but you emigrate.

Graveyards and the remains of the dead are not related to religion? Double standards methinks.
-
And can you sneak an ordinary 3x2 tile into the design of the vehicles somewhere. The piece so needs to be created. Don't change the helmet for dog's sake!! That's perfect. The body armour by all means but keep the insanely cool helmet please. :puppy_dog

But it's ok for them to make undead minifigs and evil monsters and litter their themes with skeletons and tombs? Hmmm.

Paramount pictures would probably contest the use of the name Starfleet saying it infringed on star trek copyrights.

I'm going to go slip on a banana skin so I can get a helicopter ride. The Doctor is pretty cool. Looks like a very poorly funded hospital though. All they have is two beds and a drip. Probably because they spent all their budget on a huge helicopter.

Bogeyman, Banshee, Demon, Goblin, Mud monster, Wraith, Siren, Harpy, Headless horseman, Witch, Troll, Gremlin. All good for a monster line up. Even Elf, Imp, Brownie and Pixie can be seen as monsters depending on your source. Folklore had them all as bad characters and it's only fairly recently in historical terms that the latter have been given nicer sides to their characters. The problem lies in giving the second wave a plot. Once you've collected all the crystals and stopped the Vampire's plan to take over the world how do you top that? Only place I can think of that the monster fighters could go is underground. Into the dark realm. And as for the 'red monster' issue, If it's just shown as a demon and not red then I don't see why it couldn't be included. I wouldn't go with black either. I'd go with dark tan and some sort of mottled print in dark green or dark purple. Or if it's underground then really pale. Underground creatures in the real world tend to be lacking in colour. That said I think in all honesty there won't be a second wave.

Robot dog? I can't tell if you're being serious or facetious but this would make a decent robot now that Nick has changed the Ugokin design.

Is Cuusoo too easily taken over by Rabid Fandoms?
Jargo replied to David Thomsen's topic in General LEGO Discussion
A what the who now?
