I'd say the red one is the beetle alien or Mantis. doesn't look like a scorpion or dragonfly. I like it more than the mosquito though. the trans neon wings on mozzy look silly. If I buy any of these sets I'll have to replace the wings with some other type. Maybe star wars Geonosian warrior wings would work.

Seriously? Wow, that's lame. Spell it with a K and an X and it's totally dumbed down. "Konstraxion, The laziness is built right in!"

*constrUction* Also I am totally smitten with the croc heads. I'm definitely on the side of the cool bad guys.
-
Also Flaming carrot from what I've been reading. The producers seem to be favouring really odd mutations.

WOO! Not quite Monkeys but I'll take Gorillas. Perhaps they're in an exclusive set?

The thing that went through my mind when considering this theme wasn't how long lasting it'll be but how cool to get a bunch of evil insectoid aliens. How cool to have a bunch of different coloured spacesuits again. Mars mission, Space police III, Alien conquest, all had a uniformity that while nifty and cohesive looked slightly bland. Galaxy squad seems to have that element you get in Ninjago. Each Ninja has a colour of their own and a set of skills. A child can identify with an individual and role play that. Galaxy squad has taken that on board in a way that far exceeds other space themes. These guys seem like specialists. A crack team of experts. If anything I'd say there's more depth to a small group of individuals than a large force with grunts and nameless cannon fodder. Children are going to invest more in characters they can identify with and have more interaction in group play with this theme than they would with something that resembled classic space. Children are more fickle now. Attention spans are lower. I think Lego are wise to hit them with one shot themes and quickly move on. I also think that with the rising cost of Lego, a lot of parents won't be wanting their children to get into something that is going to be a huge drain on their wallets. Recently Lego have asked for story writers and theme ideas. A clear sign to me that they're adopting this one shot theme idea as a modus operandi and adapting to modern tastes. Constant change. Fresh ideas. It is the way of the modern world.

LEGO Collectable Minifgures Series 9 Rumours & Discussion
Jargo replied to muscleman's topic in Special LEGO Themes
See, Dr. Jeckyl and Mr. Hyde there, that's proof. An official Lego picture. Same style as the series 8 pirate first reveal. I'm not overly impressed but there's always certain minifigures I'm not keen on. The Alien trooper? I'm still not convinced. I suppose the character backstory could say the alien stole Galactic patrol armour to explain why he has it. That would be weak storytelling though. There again the backstories on series 8 were quite weak and thin. I shall say no more. I'm in danger of sounding like a negative nancy. and spoiling people's fun so I'll shut up and wait for an official reveal of the series. -
LEGO Collectable Minifgures Series 9 Rumours & Discussion

For sure. It is frustrating waiting for news about something you're eagerly anticipating. I'd expect to see any new minifigures turn up on Ebay or a small grainy group shot appear on a foreign website before any actual video. I would think that any product for spring next year would only just be going into production now. After the production run of January products. -
LEGO Collectable Minifgures Series 9 Rumours & Discussion
Jargo replied to muscleman's topic in Special LEGO Themes
To be honest, it looks cobbled together. The armour and helmet could easily have been dyed or spray painted. The face could be a slide transfer. As could the torso and leg printing. Plus the fact we're not really given a look at the printing on the armour shoulders. The story of how this person got hold of the minifigure sounds bogus. Black polybags? It just doesn't ring true. It doesn't have the quality of a collectible minifigure. I don't want to be a naysayer but people seem to be jumping at anything and declaring it 'awesome'. I think it's better to err on the side of caution and yes, scepticism with stuff like this. -

I'm not convinced. Something smells off. -

Never. going. to. happen. You'll only ever see Lego police with non-lethal equipment. Technically that could include a taser gun as it's just used to stun a criminal, but not a ballistic weapon. -
Going on the one picture we've seen I think the orange is just the same orange as in Power miners and Mars mission. So there' another team member we don't know about?
-
So, on the good side we've got: Blue: Solomon Blaze and robot Red: Billy Starbeam and robot Green: Chuck Stonebreaker and robot Orange: Jack Fireblade & Ashlee Starstrider Unknown colour robot And on the bad side: Mosquito alien Beetle alien Mantis alien Scorpion alien Dragonfly alien

The Harry Potter theme's Dumbledore is a gay minifig. Just sayin'. Also I still think the series 9 list is dodgy. -
Oooh - orange. Nice. Me likeee orange. Kinda looks like an add on to Mars mission. Orange white and black. Can't wait for hi-res pics.
-
He doesn't but the beam of energy has attracted them like moths to a lightbulb.
-
Awesomesauce! Thanks Vyn.

The purple pod on the back of the ship would most likely be the propulsion exhaust yes? Otherwise I don't see how the thing would manoeuvre through space.
-
If those trans red bubble cockpits are elliptical they'll be in the legends of Chima theme first.
-
Yup. Shame we haven't got a Xever too.
-
Nawwwwwww, they're adorable! Cutesy little wings and proboscii. Kawaii!
-
It's Chris Bradford, Jackattack7. The shoulder spikes printed on the torso and bare arms give it away. Karai would most likely be dressed like the Foot ninja in the Shellraiser set which I'm guessing is a Foot elite seeing as we haven't seen one in the show yet.

Something that strikes me looking at the minifigures without helmets is that they don't look particularly eagle like. More like doves. It's a little odd.
-
No, because Eris has eyelashes and high, thin eyebrows denoting her femininity and a waist as nearly all female minifigures do. Equila has no waist or eyelashes but instead has thicker eyebrows and intense abdominal muscles.and is male. It doesn't need to make sense.
