  1. I like the part with the friends....... Actually, I'm not a fan of this theme at all. I won't bang on about my reasons because it'd be boring. I do however like the turtle/tortoise. I wish regular minifigures could get small animals like this in a pet shop. Though I'm thinking I might use these cute animals as stuffed toys in a toy shop.
  2. It's an inch and a half high block figure. The source material is fairly simplistic. short of completely reinventing the minifigure I don't see how these could be any better.
  3. That's your preference. There are plenty of kids who love the real world and Lego City/Town and want to be a fireman or policeman or truck driver. Same as there are kids who want to be a pirate or cowboy or armoured knight. Plus the market for fire station sets is there or Lego wouldn't make them. Though for all the future astronauts there is the new space theme supposedly coming in 2013. Lego tries to please as many people as they can.
  4. Here's a Raven minifigure up for auction. The wing attachment is pretty weak IMO but I guess that's something they can improve on if there's a second wave of sets.
  5. Well there's either going to be a small very low resolution pic or some bogus Ebay auctions that will reveal the figures first. That's usually the way. Or a list from a non English website translated badly.
  6. There has to be a cartoon series to go with this theme. That's the best PR for any toy. And LEGO know this hence the Ninjago series. You have to burn something like this into the minds of kids. But it has it all anyway, catchy character names, various factions, weapons, monster vehicles, swooshable vehicles and tons of play features built in. Plus the rip cord bikes are pocket money price range which provides entry level. Then the larger sets fit the birthday/christmas present criteria. There's no way this can fail for LEGO. And knowing the way kids like to mix and match toys the Ninja Turtles theme is a shoe in the doorway too. Mutant animals FTW!
  7. I wouldn't buy licensed CMF's. The price would be too high. Not to mention I'd never get the ones I wanted because scalpers and speculators would swoop in and pick the boxes bare. It's bad enough with the current series'.
  8. It's a 2013 theme that is replacing Ninjago. Some sort of fighting animals scenario. mean looking vehicles. There's a thread about it. Scan topics from the last 24 hours.
  9. Great vehicles Flatbed truck 60017 only seems to come with a spanner and the back of the cab is taken up with a winch mechanism so that kinda rules that out. Fire truck 60002 also comes with a box of tools in the back of the truck though the pics we've seen don't show anything new. Bricks and more 10659 Blue suitcase is a mini gas station with tools so it might appear there. I suppose in the end though if it's replacing the old tool sprue wheel it'll just filter down in places like the S@H pick a brick section. And replacement parts.
  10. Legends of Chima has a croc head that would be great for Leatherhead. That and a recoloured tail from the CMF dino suit guy or something similar.
  11. Fabuland with roid rage. I kinda like this but I'm still not sold. High def pics will determine that. The alligator/crocodile head dude looks interesting. Wonder if the head will end up in TMNT too as Leatherhead. 70006 looks like the must have set for me. Olive ship hull and rubber dinghies, trans red bubble elipses. Freakin' sweet!
  12. The flatbed is part of the 7642 garage range. That's cool. Dark red car as well. That's a nice change. A must have set for me. Cement truck is a definite improvement on the last one. Fitting right in with the last construction sets. Another must have. I liked the old one but always intended to modify it. Now I'll just replace it. Now, where's the tank truck got to?
  13. Just watched the first three episodes of the new show and it's not bad. Strange mix of styles and totally pants theme song but yeah, I'm actually looking forward to more episodes. I really hope this theme does well as I'd like to see Spider Bytez, Snakeweed, Leatherhead, Metalhead, Baxter and his Mousers and Casey [coming in season two apparently]. WOO! So if anyone has those set pictures and is slingin' 'em into PM's then CC me in by all means.
  14. watermarked images aren't allowed in the forums. Lego get pissy about it so it isn't worth the hassle.
  15. Kili's beard looks like a mesh face strap for holding a moustache in place while you sleep. The hard line of dots along the bottom ruin it. Hopefully LEGO will make a running change and improve it.
  16. Hmmm. Thanks Dave. That kind of explains it for me. Well I suppose if One were to hazard a guess, The new parts in will come with next years Great vehicles breakdown truck set. They definitely look more City styled than Friends. Though only five of the tools are new. Socket wrench, wheel nut brace, adjustable spanner, screwdriver and rechargeable power drill. Still, that's five tools that will prove a boon to any garage or workman.
  17. Yes the comics. Before they were kid friendly and needed their initials on their belt buckles. I can cope with different greens but i definitely want them all to have red masks. On another note. I'm hoping that 79100 Kraang Lab Escape Has a Kraang that isn't just printed onto a figure. Maybe the size of the head swallowing alien from Alien conquest.
  18. Teehee, I read that first post in the voice of William Shatner.
  19. Curiouser and curiouser said Alice...... I'd prefer them to be all the same green. I'll be customising mine to look more like the original Turtles where all four had red masks.
  20. Freakin' sweet! About time we got some new tools. WAITASECOND! That set is from 2007 according to Brickset. How come I've never seen those parts listed on Bricklink? And there's also a sprue wheel of the old tools listed in the parts list of the set. Hmmmm confused.
  21. Aha, of course, Splinter. Makes sense now.
  22. Fishface is freakin' sweet! The box art makes things look a bit confusing but the sewer set looks alright. The wooden steps on the spiral staircase is a nice touch. The tree inside the sewer puzzles me but then I've not seen the show. Turtles are definitely becoming part of my city. Those DC and Marvel superheroes can take a hike.
  23. Ole Kirk Christiansen Godtfred Kirk Christiansen Kjeld Kirk Kristiansen Jørgen Vig Knudstorp Jamie Berard Mark Stafford *Insert other Lego product developers here* Maybe not as the main collectible minifigures series but as a side series. A tribute to the people who bring us this plastic joy we call LEGO. Perhaps each one could come with a golden microscaled one piece mold of a famous LEGO set they've designed or that played a significant part in how LEGO evolved. and each golden micro set would sit atop a black base much like the microfigure trophy in the regular CMF series. And the packets would be golden and there's be a mini website where there was a mini history of each person with a photo alongside their corresponding minifigure. It wouldn't really interest kids I guess but us TFOLs and AFOLs would probably get behind it.
  24. Urgh, those things are monstrously cheap and nasty looking. Horrible brittle plastic and sloppy sculpting. I'm not anti megabloks but their stuff is basically crap.
  25. Already got the names committed to memory. Fairly easy as they mostly rhyme. I think Tolkien designed it that way so children would find it easy to remember so many different characters.
