  1. I was looking at the helicopter pilots last night and thought the aviator cap looked odd. So I tried the CMF hockey player helmet with a trans visor and it looks much more like a proper helicopter pilot helmet. The dark blue colour works well with the new police too. I don't have a camera or I'd take a pic to illustrate but I just thought I'd mention it. Also just got my exclusive Chase McCain minifig. WOOT! I've decided that the forest police and these 2013 police sets are from a different city than the older police. Probably just a town rather than a city. The older police seem like they come from a large metropolitan city. The new police say rural town to me. Smaller buildings. Smaller, tighter police force. Maybe beside a massive lake. I imagine the forest separates the two places. I'm desperate to get my hands on these new police sets but it looks like I'll have to wait until next year
  2. Perhaps the sets don't get good names because so many people refer to them by number rather than set name.
  3. Erm, the highwaymen mentioned in my first sentence are the bad guys. The good guys are everyone else. Smugglers and thieves and bandits versus the world. I only mentioned the redcoats as they would have been a major force in keeping law and order. As well as local sherrifs. However they wouldn't be the main focus of the theme. The main focus would be the rogue-ish highwaymen and the foppish dandies they steal from.
  4. 18th century gentry and highwaymen. Early Georgian era. (from my British perspective) Neo classical architecture, rich colours, silly pompadour wigs. Coaching inns, coffee houses, townhouses, horse drawn carriages, flintlock pistols and duelling at dawn. Masked bandits and the kings men (the redcoats). Not to mention peasant farmers and servants. Everything you'd expect for a historical theme that would in theory tie into the pirates theme without being pirates. There could even be a ship or two. Global exploration and trading. Tea and spices. Exotic fruits. As much as I love ancient civilisations I think the 18th century fizzes more. An age of discovery and invention. The agricultural revolution and the build up to the industrial revolution but mostly pre-revolution when times were simpler but in many ways more grand. A world on the brink of change. A world of silly wigs.
  5. Personally, Unless it's a tradesman or leisure interest or sport, I class all the fantasy, historical and sci-fi CMF's as minifigs wearing party costumes. True, there's a lot of that sort but eventually I'll just have enough to represent a big organised party in a city square. Which will be my way of displaying them rather than laid in ranks like a lot of people do. My CMF's are going to have fun. So having them all yellow skinned is perfect for me.
  6. Lol that's what I just said you silly goose!
  7. There's also dark blue-ish grey for anyone who wants to remove all signs of colour.
  8. My photo editing skills are limited but I made this...
  9. It's such a shame Rodney's metal leg can't be reversed and used as a left leg too. It's a great design for robots but who wants a robot with odd legs?
  10. One Pharaoh waging war? No back up forces? An Egyptian soldier would be cool. Or an Egyptian royal guard that could be used as a soldier. Maybe.
  11. They certainly made it easy to spot each other back in the day. Rules of engagement were so different. the white cross on the chest is as good as painting a bullseye target on.
  12. I think Space Marines will be treated as a completely separate entity. If it passes review. Space Marines may only get one set as a CUSOO project rather than integration into the pantheon of space themes. With GS currently up and running and probably getting a second wave plus the time it takes for Lego to work through product development it'd be an age before SM could be released. And probably not until GS has run it's course. Meanwhile friends of Billy are outraged at his poor treatment Not being named on the official site is bad form.
  13. Pinch of salt taken with this news. Also, why are there ducks in the city square? Bottom right corner. There isn't any water in the square. Peculiar.
  14. Just played the shooter game on the minisite and scored 360. I kinda got bored but fair play, it's a great looking little game.
  15. I just got that pop up while looking at the galaxy squad minisite. I was too slow to get a screencap.
  16. On the GS minisite they haven't even bothered to name Billy Starbeam on the product specs. The other team members get named but not our friend Billy no mates. Lego are prejudiced against Billy.
  17. I thought the stickers were laser blast marks until now. Not sure about the robot looking duck billed. it reminds me of the M113 alien from the original series of Star Trek crossed with an original series Battlestar Galactica Cylon. My favourite is the red one. I like the sleek lines of the head. The orange is next and the blue is interesting but a little bit too asymmetrical for me.
  18. The quintessential British policeman would look a little like this in blue not black. The British police force are known as the boys in blue for a reason. Also excuse the roughness of the sketch. I haven't finished this one off.
  19. Thanks GRogall. I love the bugsquash stickers on the cockpit canopy Really like that shield too. The base vehicle is great but I'm not keen on the mech. I really don't like the robot's head either. something about the open mouthed look freaks me out.
  20. The emphasis does seem to be on the away team. Taking the fight to the bugs. If anything there'll probably be a vehicular command post. Mobile command is probably better for dealing with very mobile enemies I suppose.
  21. Weird, I was just looking at the drill walker trying to imagine it as a nest buster. Perhaps with the drill angled forward and a more solid, chunky fuselage because there'd need to be some serious power to work a massive drill head. The cockpit could have a rapid release mechanism for hasty escape if the buggoids swarmed.
  22. Something like this minus the small wheeled vehicle would be cool. Detachable flyer, meaty bug squishing lower vehicle, big cannon.
  23. Bug squashers of the galaxy unite - Justice for Billy Starbeam!

  24. There's also the regular blue bicycle bottom right.
  25. Yay! . So what sort of vehicle do we reckon Billy should have? Some kind of bomber, a nest busting dozer, a robot drone deployment dropship or a tank with a single massive gun?
