I live in the north of the UK and we don't get sunshine Seriously though I have a Venetian blind and lined curtains over my bedroom window. I very rarely open them. Mostly because I live in a very narrow street and the houses opposite are way too close for comfort. Also because I have toys on display shelves and want to minimise light damage. Plus I like a cocoon/womb like room to sleep in. One of the things we shouldn't underestimate is the damage the oils in our skin can do to plastics. Particularly when it comes to yellowing. An occasional nice wash with some sort of domestic oxy action fabric whitening solution like 'Vanish' keeps bricks nice and fresh and clean.

I've never entered an EB contest. This sounds like fun though so I may have a go.

Excellent. Thanks Tim, you're a star.

No it doesn't, it's an entirely new piece that is rounded rather than pointed like the two existing plane noses. The heliplane cockpit also has split windows not a panoramic window.

Any chance someone could scan the GS page/s of the club magazine and post them? The only club magazine I get delivered is a club junior one for some kid that used to live in my house. I really must join the Lego Club myself at some point. Can't help feeling a bit too old for that though.

Build more, talk less. Replace most of my red bricks with earth tone ones. Inventory my bricks and parts so I don't keep buying stuff from Bricklink that I already have.

Live action. Always has been far as I know.

Hmmm, so in a set called 'Hive Crawler' you see evidence that Insectoids don't make hives? You might want to take a moment and think that one through again....

I think tan tree with a mixture of green, yellow and orange foliage would be most accurate. Given the colour limitations. The olive green looks a little drab so I'd use green. Regular green not bright green. In the movie it's autumnal colours. The falling of leaves symbolic of the Elves dwindling time among men. So while there are lots of green leaves there's also the warmer colours. With the colour in the foliage it wouldn't matter so much about the bleached out look of the tree itself.

The Cargo heliplane is nice and different though. And it has a new piece for the cockpit/nose with split windows and a fat round look. It looks to be based on a CV-22 Osprey.

krystalKING have you seen the actual catalogue or just the same tiny .jpg's most people have?

The Earth Marshals... the next action theme?
Jargo replied to Yatkuu's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
The eco warriors buggy, quad and trimaran are good enough on their own. I'd buy that as a set regardless of the theme. I'm not awed by the stinkers side of the theme idea though. More realism might have appealed more. By which I mean as an AFOL. With some tinkering I'm sure it could be made to work for KFOL.- 39 replies

HAHAHAHA! Just brilliant. I wholeheartedly concur. *giggle* There should be a Flickr group for Billy too, where all these great Billy 'homage' images can be displayed to the wider world.

I think it's fair to assume that all the native American minifigures are male, shifting the focus to the two immigrant American female characters. Also, the hairpiece on the Mine native American is a Comanche male hairstyle. The hair that hangs down over the shoulders is wrapped in Buffalo hide. Which is why the hanging bits are brown and the top of his head is grey/black. Female Comanche I think tended to just have braided hair. I may be quite wrong in this, but I do think the minifigure in question is definitely male.

Loving your work guys. I reckon I'm gonna build an actual wheelbarrow shaped ship. Bug-squash clear up patrol sloop. Billy: "*sigh* It's a living..............."

I would hope without the massive silly ears. As with any conflict, whom the good guys are is entirely dependent on ones personal perspective. One man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter after all. Not that this is in any way as deep or serious an issue. I'm sure you catch my drift though.

31012 Family house looks great. I love that floor to roof wall of window and balcony over the garage. It'll look great next to Hillside house and Apple tree house. 31010 Treehouse looks a little strange and empty. More like Tree stump house. Seriously though, Why tree no got leafy? Whyyyyyyyyy Lego, whyyyyyyyyyyy?

I just realised looking at Echo's brilliant comic that the red robot looks like a buck-toothed rabbit. I'm going to name him 'Bugs Burn-e'. The green robot I'm naming 'OMG1' because of his gaping mouth. The blue one I'm naming 'Gibb-0n' because he looks like an ape. The orange one I'm naming 'Minimus-2' because he has that Transformer look but is tiny. It just felt weird the robots not having a name or number. Looking at the pic of 70708 Hive Crawler it looks like there's two tiny red team machines. one is obviously the scooter craft but there's a second thing in the background which looks like some sort of weapon. It has a blue blast coming off the front same as the foreground scooter. To hazard a guess I'd say it's a cannon with 'wings'. like a divers scuba-scooter but for space. And weaponised. So that's three tiny pieces of equipment Billy has at his disposal.

I wasn't meaning to sound negative btw. unfortunate choice of wording on my part. Re-do or re-working would be better choices..

Great Scot - Another 'copter?! The skies of Legoland will be roaring like a swarm of locusts. I assume it'll be a sea king style one seeing as the coast guard sets are sticking fairly close to the last lot of Coast guard sets we had. Town square sounds grand but could be fairly basic. A rehash of Town plan. I suppose a lot depends on parts used and the colours. Advent calenders don't interest me. I can think of cheaper ways to get common minifigures.

Lord LOLrus you bring up an excellent point in that Billy isn't even afforded a weapon to protect himself with. The poor sap. And he doesn't stand a chance against that huge Warp Stinger.

The red (and white) spaceman was the first ever space minifig back in 1978. People have a fondness for him. This is the closest we've got to a fully red spaceman in modern times. And even though we know that the red squad members are the ones with speed, not having a proper vehicle that actually looks like it could go 'zooooooooooom!' and 'whoooooooooosh!' is frustrating. Also Lego have pitted two tiny vehicles against big alien vehicles, hardly a fair fight. Those of us who go "on and on and on (and on)" would just like to see more respect for the red spaceman and reparation for being treated as second class. It doesn't have to be big, just bigger and able to go 'zooooooooooom!' and 'whoooooooooosh!'. Simples.

I'm not wowed by these new sets. I don't think anyone could be based on teeny tiny images. The Lion temple looks pretty much how I expected it to look.Just more yellow. Too yellow. Worriz' lair is interesting. Some have wondered how it can be a lair but one of the definitions of lair is 'base of operations'. So in that sense the set is pretty aptly named. I'm generally not a fan of ambulatory mechanical suits of weaponised armour. Too slow and cumbersome to be practical in battle. Masses of weak points an enemy could exploit. The Gorilla mech is just ugly looking. I don't think it really fits with the other vehicles to be honest. Something with wheels or tracks would have been more fitting. Can't make much of anything out on the twin bike image. The speedorz are my least favourite part of this theme. I just don't like the fact the back has no wheel and drags on the ground. Even if they actually work they look wrong. making one longer of wider isn't going to improve it or make me like it more. I look forward to images of the new minifigures and the croc hideout.

USA Today Video/Article on LEGO investing

I detest profiteers. Scum of the earth. Seriously. -
No idea. I'm too preoccupied with the image of Crominus having a tail in that promo video for the hour long preview episode. If you go to the 15 second mark and pause the vid, you can see a honking great tail on Crominus. I'm confused now as none of the other crocs have one and the Crominus minifigure doesn't have one. Lego could easily have given the Crominus minifigure the tail piece from the CMF lizard suit guy if he's supposed to have a tail. I just don't understand. Brain hurts - continuity squiffy - Need it 'splainin' to me.......
