  1. I've actually almost completed my CMF entry :P It's the main reason I decided to finally join Historica, and I stayed up 'til three last night figbarfing. Gotta say I'm really pleased with a few in particular, and I can't wait to build some MOCs to go with them over Thanksgiving and Christmas break! As for the Civil War plot, is Avalonia's done then, or yet to come? And I'll check out the Mitgardia one if I can find it/when I have time.
  2. Erm... Is there a challenge going right now aside from the CMF thingy and the Guild-specific ones? The main thread says Prelude to Ch 2 or something is active, but I'm not finding anything else on that.
  3. Jason of Allerdale, at your service! Jason's home of Allerdale is comprised mostly of workers. Your neighbors are more than likely to be farmers or craftsmen if you live there. Even as their humble leader, Jason is skilled with woodcarving, crafting the sturdiest tools and finest trinkets around. ((I'm not sure if it's an issue to have several pictures, so I'll spoiler-tag the other two, along with some more information.) And finally, Allerdale itself is highlighted in yellow. The convergence of the twin rivers is home to Jason himself, along with the small town that serves as the capitol of the region. All along the rivers, many have made use of the hyro-power for various mills to provide for their families. ((Also, excuse the phone pictures. I'll post better a better picture of Jason eventually, preferably with some sort of MOC as a background- I just wanted to join the guild already! :) ))
  4. Except deep v-necks are much creepier than just not wearing a shirt... And in America, at least, guys don't tend to wear speedos, either. (Also, you've never seen somebody mowing their lawn without a shirt on that really should have been wearing a shirt? :P)
  5. I think my character is gunna be a craftsmen of sorts, primarily with wood... Is it okay to focus buildings on your character by any means or if I made some sort of woodworking shop should I make it more of a public crafting area? I also might include some other crafts, but I'll try to stay away from black smithing some since I know there's already a building dedicated to that. Edit: just to be clear, I now see a Carpenter's shop. I'm envisioning more handmade tools and such than furniture and whatnot... Is that enough of a distinction?
  6. Sorry to bump the thread, but I'm assuming the capital city is still in progress? I intend to join the guild posthaste- once I'm satisfied with my SigFig- but meanwhile might I lay claim to lots 16/17? I'll need some time to look through the first post and decide what exactly to build, but the plots look complementary to me.
  7. Also the outfit that Christo's fig is based on is just creepy. Honestly. I may be the only one here that thinks that, but I'd guess most kids would too.
  8. To be fair, Firefly features a prostitute as one of the main characters... Idk, I'm okay with Lego doing it, but like others have said, it is surprising. The difference between BBT and Star Wars and whatnot is that the sex jokes are much more prominent and fairly common on the show, I believe (haven't watched much). Still, for just one Ideas set, I really don't feel like LEGO is violating their standards- which they definitely still have. Didn't anyone but me read that employee manual thingy that went up on Brickset a while back? Explaining the core values and their focus on kids and creativity and stuff?
  9. Um... What? If they stopped making movies that would mean the opposite- more Lego Xmen- but I'm preeeetty sure they're still going strong.
  10. Honestly I'd be a bit surprised if they included 'figs beyond Sheldon, Leonard, Penny, Howard, and Raj. I haven't watched the more recent episodes, so I guess I can't say how big a part of the show the other girls are, but I still wouldn't be surprised if they limited it to the main five from the beginning of the show.
  11. Do it. I waited just too long to get Deadpool's Helicopter, and I have regretted it ever since. It was literally less than two weeks from me seeing it on the shelf, and going to buy it and it wasn't there any more. ...Granted I don't have one Deadpool... So I suppose I can't say with certainty that you should buy a second set just for a backup 'fig :P But hey, Power Armor Lex was a really good set.
  12. I actually doubt that will be an issue. Big Bang Theory obviously has their licenses all sorted for that kind of stuff, and Lego already has licenses for Star Wars, DC, etc... I don't see why there should be any issue *shrug*
  13. We obviously all want our favorite mutants, but to be realistic, the ones I see them including (give or take a few): Prof. X, Gambit, Rogue, Shadowcat, Jean Gray, Beast, Iceman, and maybe Nightcrawler and/or Colossus. Despite not being connected to the movies due to licensing, Lego will most likely stick to the mutants that kids and non-comic fans are familiar with.
  14. Sorry if the discussion is over, but I highly doubt it is... The reason it's okay that Lego approved BBT for an Ideas set- despite still being focused as a company on children (their views have not shifted- not much, anyways)- is that Ideas is ultimately an AFOL site. Sure a kid could build something to submit, but (and this is a guess) I seem to recall there being an age limit for making projects. Even if a kid had a good enough idea, their model would likely not be good enough to garner supporters, and they would probably need parental help to get it up in the first place. Simply put, ideas sets are more for adults than kids. The only exception to that is Minecraft, which they've extended into a full line for the kids anyways.
  15. Yeah... Not sure yet if I'll just put the new Arrow's head on my TV-version to make him more accurate, or stick to the New 52 'fig in the set. As for the hair discussion, just Google "New 52 Green Arrow" and you'll see that it's accurate. If you want it to look more realistic, it's not all that hard to switch out for a different color or the hood.
  16. Really? Am I the only one that's really annoyed about that on him and Hawkeye? Sure it leaves room for the hood-down piece, but then you can't see the quiver anyways...
  17. I posted a very minor spoiler in response to what he said about Heimdall and Loki being confirmed for Age of Ultron- you know, that movie coming out in 2015, that we're getting sets for? -And gave a possible explanation for said actors being in the movie. Discussion about the movie is perfectly on-topic when it involves speculation of minifigures in the sets that are rumored for the 2015 Marvel Super Heroes wave. If the mods disagree, they'll say so.
  18. To be fair, the Justice League movies being cancelled wouldn't be the worst thing to happen for Lego DC fans. Not saying I want them to flop, but even if they do we just got a whole wave of Justice League... That will only continue when we don't have movie sets to fill in.
  19. Just thought I'd update on Cloak and Dagger, since I got that piece :) (And she's attacking Taskmaster because 1. I just got him in the same BL order 2. He was instrumental to their role in USM.) Sorry for the poor lighting, it's a bad angle. Also, any ideas offhand for how better to show those things in flight? I can't think of any clear pieces that can actually hold them unless maybe there's a windscreen with clips, but that could get too bulky too fast. Just a thought I had while watching this week's Arrow: I might try using Mandarin's medallion torso to add a hint of the Arrowverse to my Ra's... As much as I like my current one, and as much as my love for him is based on the torso :P
  20. Come to think of it I'd much prefer Avengers Assemble sets to USM... Lot more dig opportunities...
  21. Come to think of it, Cap 3 will get us a Black Panther set it we get a wave, which could save them that slot for Thor 3 or whichever films are by BP.
  22. I get that the thread does say "2015," but in all fairness, "Future sets/Wish list" as a topic name makes it sound like it's all about wild hopes and dreams, whereas this stuff is guaranteed to be getting at least a couple sets... And I've seen plenty of discussion in the DC thread about the Justice League and Dawn of Justice movies which aren't 'til 2017/2016 respectively... But I guess I can see where you might be bothered by lots of conversations that are rabbit trails. (Not like this is a discussion thread or anything.) But despite all that, a question that pertains somewhat to 2015 sets, as well as the future waves. Can we get a wave that has sets for more than one movie? GotG and the XJet came in a wave together, right? But XMen is comic based, since Marvel doesn't have the movie rights... So is there a licensing issue keeping them from releasing, say, three Civil War sets along with a Doctor Strange set? I understand overlooking Winter Soldier for Guardians- trying to push the obscure film, and having more heroes to build sets around- but what about movies that are more equal in nature, such as Black Panther and Thor (which will each feature at least primarily only one hero)?
  23. So it sounds like we could be getting a Benedict Cumberbatch 'fig come 2016...
  24. He means they don't only use existing pieces when making a new minifigure (e.g. Batman's cowl for Black Panther)
