  1. Sorry but what else did you expect from a set that comes with 3 sharks in it? ;)
  2. I tried something like that, the exit pressure was below my expectations. As mentioned in the first post. The cylinder has metal parts. Better: water wars! --> Mad Max ;)
  3. So, I've been working on water pumps for a while and this is something like my testbed: Now, I know that using a non-LEGO element such as the syringe may be controversial. In my defense, I did that only after testing a number of pure-LEGO solutions, such as a peristaltic pump, where LEGO tubes proved too thick-walled to work. I was also testing a traditional pressure pump, with water being pushed out of a reservoir by pressurized air, but it did not provide the exit pressure I wanted. So in the end, I have used a regular 5ml medical syringe as a watertight container that can be easily operated by LEGO mechanism. Note that thanks to combining syringe with an automatically operated pneumatic valve, the resulting pump can empty and refill itself in a continuous cycle. It's effective and very easy to control remotely. Pics & some reading: http://sariel.pl/2015/07/fire-boat/
  4. I'm pretty sure TLG secretly hates EU, as demonstrated every 6 months by their pricing.
  5. Probably not. I will be using blue lights in it, not red.
  6. It's WeDo part which lets you connect other WeDo stuff to your computer. This includes motors, so yes, you can run motors from a computer, but don't expect miracles because USB provides only 5V, so motors are barely working. I did a few projects with WeDo a few years ago, but for most part it felt like poor man's NXT. The software is very limiting in what you can program, and low voltage makes motors' performance frustrating (running more than one at a time is a miracle). Here:
  7. It's in the video, at 03:37.
  8. Thanks. As for the picture, I don't have the Camper and my Mini is partially disassembled, as shown in the video. So the pic that's already in the video is the best I can do.
  9. Well, I ran out of Technic sets to review, and this happened :)
  10. I was using original strings for the Cranezilla, no changes here. I can't really figure out how much load the new turntable can handle, but when you look at the inner side of the halves, there is a reinforcing collar around the center. This gives me hope it can take a lot.
  11. Great piece of info. Sadly, that's the set most of us can only wish for :) To be honest, at the moment I have no idea how exactly the 42042's gearbox works. It's a monster. Maybe if I spent some time taking it slowly apart...
  12. My 42042 review, as they say, better late than never :) Pros: - color! - parts! - the most complex gearbox I've seen in a Lego set - easy to control - easy to build, even with all the strings, but at the same time quite educational Cons: - kinda sluggish overall - can't imagine adding RC to this thing - it's actually not so pretty once you look past the color - the load capacity is laughable because of a clutch gear - the B-model is almost the same, with exact same functions - it can do anything except turn
  13. I'm filming the last of it, it should be published tomorrow morning. Sorry about the delay.
  14. I think I will. Need to get the crane done first, though.
  15. Whoa. I was looking at large i8 Concept model just the other day, and though to myself "this is one of the cars you can't really build with LEGO". I was so wrong :) I still don't suppose it's possible for anyone to build a proper Mazda Furai, though.
  16. I'd say we have a different pumping performance ;)
  17. Not two builders. Four. There's RM8 and Nico.
  18. Whoa, perhaps it's Crowkillers who should pay you? No offence, but honestly, the man who designed the whole model and created instructions for it gives the instructions for free, and you want 10 euros for adding motors and making it uglier? I'm seeing another one of many reasons against making instructions at all.
  19. Well, the propulsion motors are the same. Everything else is different, including suspension, power source and remote control method. As for two models of the same exact vehicle, I'd say they're as different as it gets. Hell' we've even used different steering racks.
  20. I suppose it may be the pump's limitation. The new 6L pump appears to perform just like the Unimog's one. The cross section of cylinder's ports appears unchanged.
