  1. My guess is that SP and defense/defence are the same thing, and it makes no difference in the calculations, so ....
  2. Winter? Ahhh, Melbourne, that explains it. Get well soon!
  3. Sure, George, we believe you.
  4. Maybe I'm missing something glaringly obvious, but I have some questions about our strategy. Here's my recommendation - please point out where I've gone wrong! Battle Order Purpearl: Scroll of Confusion vs. Bors (Max damage 0) > Russel & Pigley: Crabspirator vs. Bors (Max damage 25, 7 health remaining) > Russel & Pigley: Crabspirator vs. Sneezy (Max damage 4, min 3 health remaining) Nerwen: Mourning Star vs. Bors (Max damage 20, 28 health remaining) Samuel: Lizard Sword vs. Sneezy (Max damage 15, 7 health remaining) Alexis: Steel Fan vs. Bors (Max damage 62, 11 health remaining) > XX: XX Hand Cannon vs. Bors (Max damage 27, 22 health remaining) Midge: Magnar's Axe vs. Sneezy (Max damage 16, 5 health remaining) > Matthias: Peashooter vs. Sneezy (Max damage 8, 9 health remaining) > Matthias: Peashooter vs. Sneezy (Max damage 8, min 1 health remaining) Also, just thinking out loud, but if all artifacts have been removed, the hero has no SP... so would they take 0 damage?
  5. "Master Ruffers, do you think you could blind them both quick?" Matthias shifts his sights onto Sneezy and fires twice, glaring at Featherhead in between shots. "Oh be quiet, you." > Matthias: Peashooter vs. Sneezy > Matthias: Peashooter vs. Sneezy
  6. We'll have to figure out a way to RP this once Quest #102 finishes. Expect a PM.
  7. Before I read your description I thought the white and black houses were larger-scale sheep... Nicely done! What piece is the fountain?
  8. Been there, died that. Hmmmmm.... how much will it cost me? No really, I'm quite interested. Get some sleep, Zeph. We can wait a few hours for the parade down memory lane to continue.
  9. Matthias shakes his head in slightly amused resignation and levels the Peashooter in Bors' direction.
  10. Boooo plot-relevancy! Hooray min-maxing! And also hooray dragon scales! But no, Matthias was handed a Quickdraw Quiver which he will not be quick to give up... (thanks Masked!)
  11. If anyone wants to lend Matthias a MoG.... Wow, this has a lot of potential roleplay value. And you can always shuffle cards between decks (without changing their actual attributes, i.e. WP) to keep your highest-WP deck as "Lind's Personal Deck," and roleplay it as his deck changing over time based on his experiences, growth, etc. I like it!
  12. Matthias laughs. "Called it." He readies the Peashooter, wishing it was his Extraordinaire.
  13. No need to apologize! I was more pointing out that your prose is usually so good that when you do make the rare mistake, it is hard to tell if you meant it in character or just missed something. And here's hoping you get the job situation figured out to your satisfaction. Matthias' interest is peaked by mention of a valuable artifact. While Samuel seems to think there's been a theft, the gnome wonders first if it might be connected to Aventine and Chauncey, and second whether it might be profitable... hey, his pockets are more than empty - don't judge! He finally addresses Bors directly, trying his best to look intimidating although he can barely see over the table. "First, Mister Chest, we already knew about R'Klif, so you won't get much gratitude from us for 'spilling' that bit. Second, how do we know you and Chauncey fell out? Prove it. Third, what's this artifact? Something connected to the two wizards? Out with it."
  14. "Exactly, Lady Nerwen - we gnomes will gamble on anything, but only when we know we'll win," Matthias replies with a grim laugh.
  15. Matthias isn't sure what's more surprising: that they've 'coincidentally' run into another villian, or that Ruffers and Pigley made it to the Marketplace and back without running one. Maybe the most surprising thing is Pigley's bad grammar; the animal is generally pretty articulate. "Ten gold I don't have says Lady Purpearl picks a fight here, too," he remarks in the animals' language, not wanting Berthadhiell to understand. Despite his disparaging remark, the gnome can feel the nearness of battle too - he doesn't trust Bors in the least. Seeing Midge pull the tiny dagger from the folds of his clothing, Matthias picks up Magnar’s Unreasonably Cruel Axe from his pile of weapons on the floor and holds it out towards the halfling. "Midge, why don't you take a look at this axe - you can borrow it if you want," he says, doing his best to make Bors and the dwarf a little more nervous by showing off the wicked blade. "And Samuel, I've got a big flaming sword wrapped up over here too that isn't doing me any good...."
  16. No Bob, thank you, for sharing your talent, passion, and design knowledge with us!
  17. Me too! My favorite is 7298-1: Dino Air Tracker, although 8412-1: Nighthawk taught me quite a bit about how helicopters work when I was a kid - I really enjoyed that set. 8971-1: Aerial Defense Unit is next on my list. What's your favorite? Which ones do you have so far? Welcome to Eurobricks!
  18. Pretty nifty builds!
  19. He then reconsiders and arranges them according to alcohol content by volume, then once again sorts alphabetically by the second letter of the drink's name...
  20. Matthias, having obsessed over every tiny detail of the Peashooter (easy and quick to do, since it's not exactly a work of art or a wonder of engineering), looks up to see the uncertainty in Ruffers' and Pigley's faces. "How was your errand?"
  21. "Hmphf," Matthias sighs, not really in the mood for a drink anyway. It's already been quite an exciting day, he has a new cannon in his hands to examine, and he doesn't much care to deal with Featherhead again. "'XX', why don't you and Midge have a drink; I'm not all that thirsty at the moment." The gnome finds an empty table, scanning the room to see if there are other patrons he hadn't seen, other entrances and exits, and anything else of note before sitting down and focusing his attention on the Peashooter.
  22. Matthias nudges Keith. "I'm sure her friends would enjoy something to drink as well."
  23. She really is just another party member. Also... (YouTube)
  24. Matthias eagerly accepts the Peashooter, turning it in his hands as 'XX' speaks. The firing mechanism is more up-to-date than his usual weapon, but the barrel and bore... so small! It's a weapon, though... He vaguely hears something about owing 100 gold if he doesn't return the little gun, and starts to pay attention again just in time to hear 'XX' say it's time for a drink. He heads to the bar and hails Featherhead. "So, what are you serving here? And what exorbitant rates do you expect us to pay?" "Give us a good deal and we'll think seriously about not having another fight," he adds as an afterthought.
  25. I feel so vindicated right now. In any case, this discussion almost makes me wish that I'd started Matthias with thrown weapons, if only for the interest value. And this, everyone, is the most important thing.
