Chrome Plating LEGO Bricks?
Brandon Miller replied to _Samibotss_'s topic in General LEGO Discussion
True "chrome plating" for plastic is done by vaccuum metalizing. There is really no DIY method for vaccuum metalizing. Most of the DIY plating kits are not ideal. To plate plastic it first has to be plated with copper so the chrome will "stick" to it. The chemicals involved, even in a DIY kit, are very caustic. I have had a DIY plating kit for several years, and even I don't get it right all the time. I just wouldn't recommend it. There are several "chrome plating" houses out there for the plastic model car world. One of the best and well known is Chrometech USA. They are very inexpensive and the work they produce is fantastic. If you are truly serious about plating some bricks, I would get in contact with them. -
Just picked up a complete 7498 Police Station for $15.

That's awesome but in the real world I'd hate to live above a McD's and smell that crap all the time.

Got this in a mixed lot. Any idea what it is from? -
Just got back home late last night. This is definitely the time of year to go. Virtually no crowd at all. Even yesterday when it was busier the longest line was still 10 minutes. I would highly recommend staying at the hotel. Tons of stuff in the hotel for the kids to do. Our son took part in a Master Builder class. He took roughly 20-25 minifigs to trade and had a blast doing that. The Bricks restaurany inside the hotel is wonderful. Great food and staff. The dinner buffet is priced about like a Ryan's or Golden Corral but way better food. As my brain recouperates and the tiredness wears off, I will post more. As for now, it's time for a recovery nap.

On our second day here. Staying in the Legoland Hotel, and it is fantastic. The "Treasure Chest" in our room made our son's day. Once he solved all the clues and got the lock open, waiting inside for him was 3 minifig packs, 3 Mixels, 3 apple juice pouches, several lanyards, and magazines. This is the perfect time to come to the park. Hardly any crowd at all yesterday. Longest wait time for anything was 10 minutes tops.

We are also staying at the Legoland Hotel. Should be a fun time.

Should've been more specific, Legoland Florida.

2505 Garmadon's Dark Fortress
Brandon Miller replied to Brandon Miller's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
I'm assuming this is not a popular set for the set itself or for parts. -
I have a complete 2505 Garmadon's Dark Fortress. It has been built and is now disassembled. The cheapest one on BL is $75. I don't really know what to ask for this set. I'm not looking to make a killing off of it.

Anyone been to the Nashville, TN store lately? Their brick builder page hasn't been updated in a while.

I have nearly all the pieces I need to build this for my son. I will let you know how the build goes. -
When new product is developed from R&D, I am responsible for new machining and assembly fixtures (I usually design most of these), machining and assembly processes, work instructions, etc. I also work on the sustaining side of manufacturing as well.

Just out of curiosity, why is 7996 so expensive?
