  1. Oh, so you guys wanna change the piece caps, ay? Well my 200 pc "ship" will take on both of your 300 pc ships :-P P
  2. I'd retake the pic until it's clearer. Here's a thread on how to take better pics of your lego creations that i've found helpful. P
  3. Liar! :-P You are too addicted to B-L. (you just don't realize it >:-) ) P
  4. Knot evrie-won haz greight spellin skilz. :-P Jus cuz yer uh pour spellor, dun't maik ya uh doofus. P
  5. As woody has mentioned, there are other types of Shako styled head gear that can be made also. Too bad it costs so much to make this type of headgear. :-( I just know if someone starts making a shako styled hat for less than $5 each with the option to purchase at least 50 at once, they'd get my business and my brother probably too. *y* P
  6. My brother and i have been working on some rules (slowly) We're still stuck on the simple speed problem. My original calculations don't seem consistent and are usually too fast. We're going to tackle it once and for all when my brother and i finish our two MOCs of a U.S. frigate and some other ship that my brother is going to make. We'll compare the lego models to the actual ships and go from there. The weight of the Surprise came from the current remake of the HMS Rose. I haven't found any tonnage for the original HMS Surprise, therefore i've put that info to the side for now, until i know it's complete. Yes, a super complicated game wouldn't be too bad if Excel was doing all the calculations and kept track of the battle information during a fight.. X-D Though right now, we're focused on ships in the open seas. Once that's done, we'll worry about reefs and islands and such. I love the idea of having your crew eaten by sharks once their in the water. *skull* BTW: Lately, we've come up with the idea of having certain benefits and costs to having your ships a specific nationality. British marines are better than anyone elses. Dutch, then French ships are built the best and have better maneuverability and more hit points. There are more ideas i had; i just wanted to give examples. P
  7. I've gotten a Fabuland wheel borrow and scooter *wub* I'd love to use the wheel borrow, but the last thing i need is a scooter for the USS Constitution. :-D I try to get full lots too. It's easier for me and the seller. *y* I don't have to come back to their store later for that specific piece and he sells more. P
  8. Great work Duke (who isn't my brother :-$ ) I hope it's not captain green bucket getting struck by lightning! :-D P
  9. I'm surprised too. This be a sad bunch of pirates. :-P (j/k) Maybe i should start keeping tabs of who didn't vote for crocs or sharks and make a moc of their sig-figs getting eaten. *skull* P
  10. No worries mate! It's just that a "We want Pirates" rant is much more effective in the embassy. ;-) Phred thought it was kind of weird that you wrote your post in third person. X-D P
  11. There is a forum here at EB that you can post in that Lego Ambassadors read; it's called the embassy. JiPay added this forum so that the L-A only have to look through a portion of this forum rather than the whole thing. If you want pirates back, i suggest posting in the embassy. It seems you already know this Mr. Bluebard, but just making sure this thread doesn't turn into another "We want Pirates thread". There was a vote off between pirates and romans and it came to a tie. :-/ It's called Pirates or Romans? Here's what the conclusion of the vote off was that an ambassador posted. Also, there was another thread called We want Pirates!. (which i think should be posted in instead of the pirates versus romans since the ambassadors seem to have gotten the information they needed from the votes already) Another thing, in the Issues List thread, lack of fan desired themes (i.e. pirates) has been added to the issues list, but i don't know when TLG will find out about this list. Hope that helps. P
  12. You mean power of the Pirates ;-) I voted for a M-F scale ship *y* I know a lot ppl can't afford it, but i know a lot of ppl can't afford the millenium falcon either, which isn't stopping them. :-D P
  13. Yes, a 2x2 lion head would be ideal. :-$ Don't worry, it'll only be mutilating 50 cents worth of bricks. Plus i don't plan on tearing this ship apart unless i'm improving it for a long time. X-D I'd like to purchase a couple of tan lion's head bricks in my next B-L order. *sweet* P
  14. actually the carronade ports are 4x4 8-| The carronada barrels were a little bigger, but i think it looks real nice. *sweet* Anywayz... Cut up Lego!! X-O Are you crazy?!? Hmm... That's not such a bad idea. X-D And place black decals along the sides too or... ...since i'm cutting up a brick anyways, i could just paint it. *skull* I'm waiting on 3 small B-L orders right now to continue progress on the ship. Special plates for the capstan and wedge plates for the decking. P
  15. Oh good, i was worried i'd have to make a real stubby ship :-P Awesome! I don't like TLG's sails very much. :'-( ;-) P
  16. Can the ship be more than 32 studs long including the bowsprit? Just wondering, cause it's real easy to be longer than 32 studs with a ship. P
  17. I do make 2-3 order from B-L a month. Usually they're around $15-$25 orders. I buy bricks almost exclusively for my Constitution to keep building. I've got a lot of bricks, but i dont want a very colorful constitution :-P There are a lot of obscure bricks that i need to regularly purchase to keep that project moving. :'-) P
  18. Probably from a couple of Caribbean Clippers. ;-) P
  19. Talon card did a good job introducing the minifigures. *y* Everyone who contributed to this M-F guide did a great job. *sweet* I'm looking forward to more of them. Go islanders! ;-) :-D P
  20. I think this may be the best built Xebec on EB *wub* It looks great! Very proportional and good job following the pic. *y* I hope you're eventually going to show your models at a convention. *sweet* It'd be awesome to see your ships in person. :'-) P
  21. Who is this David guy? *wacko* I only know of Errorist or Hairy Ruben at your house. X-D P
  22. I was just looking for a guy with a serious face, because boat swains didn't seem like happy fellows. :-D I think you are right. :'-( I may end up using a decal on a 2x2 tile instead. Hmm... ...so with that said, any body want to make a decal for me with this cathead? X-D P
  23. I'll post pictures in the Constitution thread when i get a chance. Anything to help out. :-$ That's awesome! :-D Who's the guy holding the ship? Is that you or Mr. Ruben? P
  24. I probably will make the ship below the waterline, but there may be other projects that i'd like to work on before starting it. Also, if you'd start on your mega project, i may be more motivated to complete the entire Constitution. :-P Yes it does. *y* I'm trying to have every part of the ship as accessible as possible without sacrificing looks or strength. Also, i plan on have multiple component functional too. -For instance, i've just finished the gearing and it's now ready work all four anchor cables and two crane cables on the masts. -(I have no idea how to do it yet but...) i plan on having the rudder fuller functional by the steering wheel. -Then there's hand crank water pump on the gundeck that i'd like to have functional also. P
  25. The gun ports on my Constitution are also 3x3 and i've used different hingplates and covered the whole door with tiles. Here are some thumb-links: The doors are a little fragile, but they hold together real well if you're gentle. :-$ Captain Green Hair would suggest to put tiles at the bottom of each gunport to hide the studs. This wouldn't be possible on about 1/4 of my gunports so i didn't do this. These types of hinge plates were used: These hinge plates are much more discrete, and i think they look better for port hole covers. *y* For having your decks removable, i suggest only having the portion of the gundeck removable where the cannons aren't going to be tied on. That's what i did on the Constitution, and it's real strong so far. I frequently put it end on end to work on it and it never falls apart. *y* The berth deck on my constitution is going to be easily accessible though cause i plan on having the entire portion under water removable. Here are some thumb-links of the accessibility to the gundeck so far: Great work on the improvements of the bow. *y* I had a very hard time with the headrailing on my bow. Yours seems to be coming together much better. Hopefully my suggestions were helpful. :-$ P
