Which would you buy - The Caribbean Clipper or Red Beard Runner?
Capn Frank replied to Big T's topic in LEGO Pirates
That was Kevin (a.k.a. Bunny) in my class. X-D He had a lot of sweet lego sets back in the day. *y* My bro gave a lot of good pointers! I'd take those into consideration. P -
The only reason my sig-figs face was used originally used is because all my bricks were half way across wisconsin at the time. ZCerberus is now the captain since the orignal posting of the first Capstan Pics. :-$ Since i don't have the Red Admiral Torso, and i love throwing Z in my MOCs, so i've made him the Captain of the Constitution. :-$ (Hopefully he doesn't mind 8-| ) Here's a current pic: On the left is a Marine Sergeant, then a Lieutenant (Exobuilder X-D ), Captain ZCerberus, and a Boat Swain. Yes, i love those pure black Bicorns for officers. *y* They turn out very nicely and more realistic depending on the type of Bicorn worn. P

Don't worry matey. ;-) There are lots of comments on the good Colonel's flags. If you click on bold print of each "paragraph" like i've quoted before, you'll see lots of complements and comments. *y* If Col. Whipstick decides to make another miscellaneous flag or someone else does, they can post their flag in this thread. If someone plans on making A LOT of flags (like the Col.), then by all means have a thread for each group of flags. Savy? :-$ P

No, we wouldn't keel haul him Col. Whipstick. There are less humane ways to torture Cpt. Blockbeard if he were not to confess the use of Enlighten bricks :-P (j/k) BTW: Welcom back Col. *sweet* P

I voted for one month news letters and html emails. PDF is annoying to me. P -
Thanx Guys. I'm hoping to have the portion above the water complete by June 2009, but i'm not making any promises. The stern may be more complex than the bow to get all the curves and angles right (or close to right). Then, if i still have the motivation, I'll make the portion of this ship below the waterline. Yes, it is the power of the Xbox that holds back the great (cute looking) beast. :-P The only parts these masts are fragile at is where they connect at the top and bottom. The 1x8 or 1x10 plates on the sides provide a lot of strength. Hopefully my rigging will be able to keep the masts stable. The rigging i've made on my recent ships provided a lot of strength to the masts, LOL! I saw that scooter on BL looking for that Town Center. :-D It was the best scooter i've seen on B-L. :-$ I'll fix the link once i post this. Yes, I'm sure that the capstans spin independently, but only because i double checked on the Constitutions Website. X-D Thanx for the compliments Cpt. Blockbeard. Yup, he's a Blue Healer. Maslow (in the pic) loves chasing cattle and horses on my family's farms. He can't help it. From pics i've seen on the constitution, the spar deck walls before the hammock netting, is taller than a person. It makes sense, because then the crew on the spar deck is that much more protected. This also may explain why in most fights these frigates have seen, there were few casualties when they weren't boarded. P Phredit: I've totally changed the way the capstan is designed after looking through B-L for hours to see what type of bricks are available. The next design will look much closer to the design of the current capstan. Instead of using bricks i already have, there are a few bricks i can buy that make it more accurate and sturdy like these:

Well Mr. oDDerFisken, i hope your blood thirsty crew can a good piratey captain. X-D Also, I've added this vig the Index of Land-Based MOCs. P
-
Nice work Majek. This MOC is simple yet well made *y* This Vig has been added to the Vig section of the Index of Land-Based MOCs. He better remove that pirate flag from the top mast if he wants to be rescued and not arrested right away. :-P P
-
I've added the CADD Ship into the Index of MOC Ships. I'd check to see the availability of bricks on Bricklink. Many times, bricks seem to be a little cheaper on B-L. P
-
Great work Mr. Lock! *y* I like that you've added tumblehome to the new version. Is the latest model complete? P
-
Yup, this thread is the index and discussion thread. *y* Other than that, i'm not able to help with getting the needed template though. P

EB Pirates Episode 2 - Welcome to Port Paraiso!
Capn Frank replied to Captain Green Hair's topic in Pirate MOCs
Great work Cap'n Green Plankton! *y* Are you going to be making a thread with any new ships that you've created? *wub* Great MOCs and good comic again. Hopefully the next one will be worth the wait too. :-P P -
4 or 6 stud wide cars, which do you prefer ???
Capn Frank replied to Brick Miner's topic in LEGO Town
Silly Americans and their big cars. :-| Oh wait! I'm american too! Doh! :-$ I voted 6-W. Although I think big rigs and Military Vehicles are to be 8 studs wide. (if ppl consider one stud to be about 1 foot by 1 foot) I've driven military hummers a lot and they're definitely about 8 feet wide. Anywayz, most vehicles are about 6-W (in the U.S. anywayz X-D ) I would like to make a 6-W 4 door sedan of a Wisconsin State Patrol Car that's a Crown Victoria. -
They are pretty much that high. The lego netting is a little bigger than it's supposed to be, so the hammock netting is higher. :-/ Here's a link to the interior walls of the spar deck. I got the idea from a column that i saw on B-S. Here's the folder. Fixed the link And a pic: I think it'll end up to be about this big: There's going to be two, one on the Gun Deck and the other right on top of it on the Spar Deck. P

Thanx Cpt. Pegleg Blockbeard Here be the pics: The Prow of the Constitution is now complete. I got all of the 3mm rigid tubing i needed. Check it out. My brother let me borrow his only light bley lion head modified brick to see what they'd look like on my cathead: Here are some pics of the interior of the bow. There are a couple of doors that open to the front portion thingy of the bow. I think it's the head (but i'm not sure). Using the same idea as Errorist, i took a pic of my ship so far with our dog. X-D I've started on the capstan. On the constitution, there are two capstans. I just got the gears needed today to have them rotate independently, with them on top each other. The gray gears on the left rotate rotate independently of the yellow and white gears. P

Thankx Captain Zuloo :-$ I'll cook ya up a burger as soon as possible Captain Green Plankton! *sweet* The Prodigal Brother has Returned!! No biggie, I just like giving you a hard time. :-P I've got 7 of those black barrels and the next big BL order will have 5 more (if they're still there). P BTW: I've gotten further on the Constitution, just haven't taken any pictures yet. Will take them tomorrow.
-
i was thinking of putting it in the Vig portion after giving it some thought. *sweet* We get learn and get inspired by everyone's MOCs. Ppl have different amounts of bricks and building styles. And yours is definitely worthy of the Land-Based MOC Index. *y* P
-
I highly suggest not putting your sails through the washing machine! :'-( The edges of the sails will become much more frayed. I don't see a problem w/ hand washing them (gently) or letting them soak in detergent or stain remover. P Phredit: I'm curious too. :-$
-
LOL! :-D I hadn't noticed until you said something. As said already, this is a unique MOC. Definitely an "A" for originality. *y* I'm trying to figure out where to place this MOC in the Index of Land-Based MOCs. Would you put this MOC in the Vig sectoin or the Nn-Military section? Yes, it definitely is too bad that clone bricks have to be used. :'-( Looking forward to your future creations and welcome aboard! P
-
Thanx Captain SlyOwl *y* That cannon was already in the cannon index in the Other Cannon Types portion, but last time this MOC was found at save.9vtrains.com with one image. Now the index is updated to Brickadier General's B-S folder. Thanks. P
-
Thanx for the great find IS! *y* Its been added to Index of MOC Cannons That's a nice looking carriage. P
-
Oh don't worry Mr. SlyOwl, ;-) He plans to start a major piratey project this summer. *y* I try to pressure every one equally. :-P P
-
Good work Mr. Slyowl *y* This wonderful MOC has been added to Index of Land-Based MOCs in the Non-military Section Looking forward to more of your work! *wub* P

I just read a little info in a history book about the red sea and indian ocean. It was the Ottoman Empire that had control of coast along all of the red sea and much of the persian gulf in 1566. Suleiman was the ruler of the Ottoman Empire from 1520 to 1566. A history book that i just bought states that his conquests provoked conflicts with the Portuguese in the Red Sea and Indian ocean during his. Also, during Suleiman's rule he took the Island Of Rhodes from the Knights of St. John around 1526. The ottoman navy in the Mediterranean was about the same size as Italy's, France's and Spain's navies combined. So looking for info about the Ottoman Empire would be the way to go. I haven't looked up any thing about the Portuguese territories in the Indian Ocean though. P
