I concure with B, I think it looks real good with the dark gray statues instead of black. I'd keep it gray. *y* The fort expansion is looking great so far *sweet* I'd try to make this fort able to have some larger MOC cannons. I know you have those 3 black barrels. Maybe you could try to make larger MOC cannons out of them like this: Or with your buckets (if you have more than one for a bell) could make an even larger cannon like these: * You probably won't be able to put any of these cannons on your ships cause they're too big, but i think it's realistic to put them on a fort. If you still had 16 cannons on this fort and maybe half are the larger MOCs, this fort would probably be able to take on frigates of a broadside of 20 cannons. P

What do we think of the MOC ships from Evil Stevie's Pirate Game
Capn Frank replied to Mister Phes's topic in Pirate MOCs
Gotchya *y* I'd try to go for something more realistic looking. The penguin is more realistically designed. But before judging too harshly, I think it should be taken into consideration the fact that these ships were built way back in 2005. Their MOCing abilities probably (hopefully) have improved a lot since the creation of these we little ones. Also, they probably just made as many ships as possible to increase their chances of winning. (more ships=more wins) They'd probably swarm the enemy with all these little guys. If they made one bigger ship with all these bricks, that ship would be very colorful indeed. P -
Thanx B, Since sept '06 But i'm also a full-time student, so that always takes presidence in my time. Edit: Got the captain's cabin done. There was a meeting held there right away with a Spanish and an English officer while some other captain fell asleep in there. The lamp on the bottom left is what supports that whole corner. Definitely not realistic for the lamp to be like that, but it works in lego X-D (same goes for the lamp that's barely visible on the bottom right) The axels on the top left and right are for support only (they'll get fixed down soon and covered up) for where the steering goes from horizontal axels to vertical. Well the center portion is pretty much done and the stern has been getting a huge facelift to look more like a 18th century ship rather than a 16th or early 17th centry ship. The center portion just needs the "crane apparatus" for getting the row boats on and off the ship then i'll post pics. Here it is as of yesterday. The brown logs are going, just haven't got that far yet. And the port holes on the bottom deck still need to be covered.

I don't think so. All the females in castle sets had plain faces before 1989. Although I'm not absolutely sure on this. This is from browsing through the older sets @ brickfactory.com. The guarded inn had a female with a plain face, see link. And this blacksmith shop was released in 2002, see link. P

Hey Z, How many cannons guard the current Ft. Brighton Compared to how many you'd like to add? P

What do we think of the MOC ships from Evil Stevie's Pirate Game
Capn Frank replied to Mister Phes's topic in Pirate MOCs
For these ships, i think it's probably not very realistic for ships this small to have such a large cannon. A lot of the ships are Imperial Trading Post Cutters made in different colors it seems. i know there are some limitations for the size of the ships for this game for instance, the amount of hit points on ships is based on how many hull sections are on the ship. if the ship's too small for a hull piece, then it's considered a cutter. if you have a ship like my Dame du Loup and it's 32-34 studs wide and the hull is 140 studs long and no hull pieces, you can't easily give it a hit point rating. I'd be interested to know if there are more rules to bypass this limitation. EB member UKDevilz (pretty sure it's spelt right) made another pirate game that goes by the length of the ship for hit points. There has been a little discussion about this stuff in the Lego Wargames forum right here. P -
Her face came in the forestmen's crossing also in the king's mountain fortress both of which were availible in 1990 if i remember correctly, i think the castle ones came with a solid stud on top. the BSB came with her face first in 1989 i think i don't think any other sets came with her earlier than that. Thanx for the censoring simonwillems :) P

it came with lots of piratey elements though i don't know how much he pays for them on ebay, but he never pays more than BL, and probably buys from ppl in US or canada the sets he has gotten that i remember right now are: 5 armada flag ships 1 armada outpost (don't remember the official name :) ) eldorado fortress BSB Carribean Clipper Islander Catamaran 2 imperial outposts cannon cove he also got most of the western sets and more but i can't remember them all. He got them all while he was deployed to go to Kuwait P -
Hey that's an important one, EB is even mentioned. ;-) Yeah, i really like them. The english were told not to engage any US frigate unless their ship had at least 64 guns(or something like that) The US frigates had only 44 guns. They could out run anything bigger than them and catch up to any one who was smaller. P
-
Hey B, would you be willing to put the USS Constitution and Six original US frigates on the Wikipedia index? The other five frigates weren't nearly as well known as the USS Constitution, but here they are just in case: USS United States USS Constellation USS Chesapeake USS Congress USS President P

my brother regulalarly buys lego pirate sets on ebay. i also got an emporor's ship rescently for 15 USD although my brother had to help cause my ebay account is really screwed up right now :S -
yes they're the humans vs. the skelies. I'd go for '07 castle P
-
Lets see here. Maybe we should show some pics first :-) There that's better *y* It's pretty good for a first castle. I know my first castles weren't any better, and i had more pieces to work with it seems :-D I'd try to make a guard house or tower first, then eventually make a bigger, better castle after you've aquired more bricks (and experience). Keep in mind though, i haven't built a MOC castle in almost ten years *wacko* (too much into pirates) so my opinion shouldn't matter too much. P Edit: Oh yeah, with that chariot, i was wondering how the driver gets on the chariot to drive it. i can't see it with the pic above. thanx

Who are all the Pirate Lego fans on this board?

That's an interesting favorite type of ship Berry Syedow :) I like treasure galleons. Slow easy prey, and lots of treasure arrr. P -
I think Z is right about 1992 being when this brick was introduced. was also introduced in 1992. And its got 4 of those 6 wide bricks. Also, if this mast top were used instead. The mast would be a lot shorter and more proportional. P

Is this a european series? Is it available on DVD? P

The first one looks like it'd be easier to have clean lines. Though if you wanted to have only 3 studs, i'd go for the 3 brick high slopes and have a 2x2 white brick or 1 brick high sloped brick under the gun port. Can you try to have 2 x (whatever) black plates right on top of the white sloped bricks? if you did that, then you have something solid to place the gray plates on, or have tiles on the black plates, then have some gray plates removable *y* . Also with the 2 x (whatever) plates on top of the gun ports, there'd be a more solid place to put the port hole covers. Maybe something like this: Hopefully that helps, P
