Post your general LEGO Star Wars questions here
wesker replied to XimenaPaulina's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I think there's definitely room for a smaller Slave I. The UCS version is a fantastic set but it doesn't really fit in with the "system scale" models and its size takes up quite a bit of space. I do hope any future versions will have a drastic redesign to make them better proportioned like the UCS one is. The fat base and low hanging wings on the system versions don't really hold up well anymore. -
Brickset has removed the Rebel Hanger from the database. As of now there are three unknown sets listed among the Summer wave (75176, 75177 and 75179), five that should be for Episode VIII (75187-75190 plus 75192) and six that are buildable figures (75526-75532)

I saw the checkered U-Wing/Y-Wing helmet design on one of the Blue Squadron X-Wing pilots during the space battle. The microfighter U-Wing helmet was also there for 2-3 shots as well. Interestingly both pilots in the movie were women unlike the minifigures that they're based on. I also noticed the microfighter Y-Wing helmet was also on one of the pilots in the background of Yavin IV's hanger.

Review | LEGO 75168 Star Wars ● YODA'S JEDI STARFIGHTER
wesker replied to Brick Ministry's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Looks like a fun little set. Glad the Clone Wars hasn't completely been forgotten. I'm disapointed by the minifigure selection though. Only two figures are included and neither of them are new. It would have been nice to have gotten an additional character from the episodes this set was based on like Senate Duel Sidious, Dark Yoda, Darth Bane, Force Priestess, Sifo-Dyas, Coruscant Dooku etc. Definitely a missed opportunity there. -
I don't think the armored torso actually belongs to Star-Lord. A lot of the figures in that picture look like a combination of random parts.

The Battle of Scarif turned out a lot better than I was expecting. The platform doesn't appear as small as it looks on the boxart and the bunker itself has a bit more depth to it rather than just being a door to nowhere. The small details that you wouldn't notice without seeing the film are also a nice touch. Hopefully Lego keeps going with more of these location-based sets.

Review | LEGO 75169 Star Wars ● DUEL ON NABOO
wesker replied to Brick Ministry's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Thanks for the video. The set looks a little incomplete with just a single wall panel on top but aside from that its a nice little set for the price point. It also should be fairly easy to expand upon with additional sets. I like the new face print for Qui-Gon as well. The grey highlights in the beard are a nice touch. I kind of wish his facial expressions weren't so scene specific though. I liked the ones he had on the previous figure more with his battle ready face on one side and his classic smirk for trolling Watto and Padme on the other. The other two minifigures are disapointing though. Maul really needed a new face print with either an angrier expression or a neutral one. The huge smile doesn't suit him at all. Obi-Wan is also 18 years overdue for a proper hairpiece and its sad that he still hasn't gotten one when every other main character in the series has had an accurate hair mold created specifically for them. -
Its still coming. Brickset has the Rebel Hanger listed as a seperate set to the A-Wing. They haven't tagged what movie its from though so it could be anything from Yavin IV, Home One, Rebels or even another Hoth set (please don't be another Hoth set!)

Cloud City is long overdue for another release. I'd love to see one with even more rooms than the 2003 version. I'm not too fussed on the bulk of the minifigures since most are currently available for cheap prices. The main requirements for me are a new Luke and Lando since both are horribly outdated, preferably a new Lobot with a molded headgear/baldcap piece and most of all - BOTH versions of Leia in the red gown and white jumpsuit.
-
Its easy to say Zuckuss and 4-LOM can come in any other set, but the problem I've been having recently is that most OT/PT/TCW sets aren't really coming with any new characters. Not counting remakes, the Weequay has been the only new addition in the latest wave. I'm not against having more alien species made into figures, but there's still so many missing characters that have yet to be released and there's just been too many missed opportunities for that to change lately. What I like about this "Character Pack" is that its potentially knocking out most of the ESB bounty hunters in one swoop for a cheap price. And its a great concept for other character packs that could be followed up on down the road such as the Jedi Council, Cantina Patrons, Jabba's Palace etc.
-
That would be so disapointing. I'm more interested in getting bounty hunters that are actually established characters from the films. We still don't have Zuckuss, 4-LOM, Bazine Netal or Sidon Ithano yet. Bossk, Zam Wesell and Aurra Sing are also due for an update as well. The less of that Freemakers rubbish the better.
-
The First Order battlepack sounds alright. More Stormtroopers are always welcome but I don't have much need for anymore Flametroopers or officers. The Bounty Hunter battlepack sounds awesome though. Great way to get Dengar and IG-88 in a cheap set and hopefully Zuckuss and 4-LOM to round off the ESB Bounty Hunters. Hopefully its successful enough to be followed up with more Bounty Hunter packs from the prequels and Force Awakens down the road. Bit disapointed there aren't any new figures in the Quadjumper. It would've been nice to get a couple more of Jakku's residents - especially ones like Sarco Plank or Constable Zuvio who wouldn't require new molds. Looking forward to the Rathtar set though. Hopefully Bala-Tik is one of the two gang figures. Don't care for the Freemaker stuff, but since Palpatine is supposedly coming in two sets I hope at least one of the figures will be based of his other ROTS costumes. Either the Senate Duel version or the red one when he created the Empire. The Republic Fighter Tank sounds interesting. I'm wondering if its a remake of the Battlefront one that we got as a Clone Wars set several years ago? Glad we're finally getting a movie version of Aayla Secura and hopefully Commander Bly as well. Great to see we're also getting an updated Jedi Starfighter from AOTC. That one has been long overdue for a remake. Just a shame we're getting Kid Boba again instead of Taun We or Lama Su.

I don't mind it. Dark green was more accurate but the lighter shade does add a bit more individuality to the pilots. Plus the different helmet designs indicate the two A-Wing Pilots are indended to be different characters anyway (2013 version being Sila Kott, 2017 being Jake Farrell) -
This has been my biggest pet peeve about the Rebels sets. There's plenty of new characters that could be included but we're always stuck with the same minifigures. You can only get Ezra, Kanan, Kallus and the cartoon Stormtroopers so many times. There's barely any variety. I thought the Clone Wars was pretty well covered for the most part. We had over 50 sets from both the show and the prequels, several different clone types and the ability to customize them with accessories, almost all the main characters, the Jedi, the major villains of the show and quite a few minor characters as well. There were a couple of obvious gaps in the lineup - we never got Duchess Satine, Mother Talzin or Bo-Katan and a lot of the one-shot characters that didn't make much of an impact on the show were overlooked, but overall it was a much stronger line than what the Rebels sets have been.
-
Not wishful thinking at all. Lego themselves designed a set that incorperated the pyramid into the build but never went ahead with releasing it. Its definitely do-able, but probably not at the price point the Rebel Hanger set is likely to go for.
-
I don't have a problem with remaking old sets either - we've been getting them constantly for the last 12 years after all. Even owning the previous versions isn't always a problem as I can enjoy having two drastically different builds for the same vehicle like the new Desert Skiff and worse case can always use the previous one for spare parts. But I echo what others have said that I do have an issue with sets like the Landspeeder being re-released so soon after the last one with barely any changes while others that are in bigger need of an update (Cloud City, Dagobah, the TIEs, Bounty Hunter Pursuit etc) are still being neglected. That just feels like a wasted slot in the lineup, especially when there are fewer options for OT/PT sets now with the new movies and TV shows coming out. There's a possibility we may be seeing Yavin IV in the Summer wave with the Rebel Hanger set. It would be a great way to potentially get Classic Leia in an affordable set along with Dodonna, Biggs, Mon Mothma and a certain Rogue One character. Still there's always the chance its also a Home One remake and I'd have no problems with Yavin being saved as a UCS playset if it meant getting the full pyramid instead of just a small interior build.

I thought the colour of his vest was innacurate too until I was looking through the Star Wars Visual Dictionary. Even though it appears dark tan in the movie, the studio photo actually shows it as being the same orangey colour as the minifigure. Lego isn't the only one to give him an orange vest either - Hasbro also did the same with their last release in the Vintage Collection a few years back. The holster belt across his torso is a glaring omission though.

Just been having a browse through Brickset and it turns out the Rebel Hanger that was originally rumoured to be the Lando set is actually completely seperate from the A-Wing. Will be interesting to see if its a Home One remake or a Yavin IV set (just as long as its not another Hoth!)

Turns out Qui-Gon has a new face print: http://cache.lego.com/r/dynamic/is/image/LEGO/75169_alt1?op_sharpen=0&resmode=sharp4&wid=4000&fit=constrain,1&fmt=png-alpha The grey highlights in the beard are a nice touch but I'm disapointed that of the three characters it was Qui-Gon that ended up being updated when he didn't really need it.
-
The A-Wing looks awesome! The curved parts and the new fins on the engines make it look even sleeker than before and I do prefer the push buttons to fire the missiles over the sliding cockpit from the Rebels version. Also great to see Lando in a set again and with a double sided face too this time! The Desert Skiff looks pretty good too. Much more accurate colours and I like the inclusion of the railings. The nose seems a bit stubby but that could just be the angle of the photos. Glad to see we're also getting the Weequay Skiff Master this time instead of a repeat of the guard from the last Sailbarge as well as a ROTJ variant for Boba Fett. Not that impressed by the Landspeeder. The curved tiles and R4 heads are a nice touch but ultimately its too similar to the last version which was available not that long ago and the minifigure lineup offers nothing new.

Looks great! I'm surprised Lego still hasn't made a Geonosian Arena yet, although hopefully that will change one day now that they're making location-based playsets much more frequently.

[VIDEO REVIEW] Star Wars 75172 Y-Wing Starfighter
wesker replied to Brick Ministry's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Wasn't planning on picking this one up since I was pretty happy with the last two Y-Wings but I have to say this version is definitely the best yet! The new cockpit looks much nicer, the greebling and build are fantastic and I love the new bomb dropping mechanism. The retractable landing gear is also a nice touch. The spring loaded missiles are a bit out of place but should be easy to remove. -

Thanks for the review. Still a bit disapointed the bunker wasn't done as a proper building like the Endor version but I'm glad to see the build is a bit more substantial than what I was originally expecting. The landing platform looks better now that I've seen it in motion at different angles. I'll probably buy a second copy to expand the set further. -
Both sets sound great! Wasn't expecting a Bruce Banner minifigure but will be nice to finally have him. Hopefully Loki will come with a new (dual sided) face print this time. The last one was too brooding and didn't really look like him.

At this stage the only Leia costume I want to see updated is the Cloud City outfit. That one hasn't been seen in over a decade and could really use an update with better colours, more detailed printing and an accurate hair mold. All her other minifigures are pretty definitive now aside from the Tamina head on a couple but that can easily be switched out with the current head. I'd also prefer to see the rest of Leia's waredrobe finished off since we've only got the Bespin Escape, D'Qar Gown and Rebels costumes left to go. Plus whatever comes in Episode 8 - but hopefully that one will be covered in next year's launch sets.
