LEGO Star Wars 2019 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!
wesker replied to Stash2Sixx's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I own Cloud City and don't mind having an extra pilot. I'm already using the original two figures to pilot the Cloud Car and plan to display the third one in the city itself to add more of a civilian presence along with 75137's blue uniformed Ugnaught and the silver protocol droid as E-3PO. The Advent Calendar Luke is also supposed to be the Jedi Exile version, not the Ahch-To one that came in the training set. Two completely different costumes. -

This year's Advent Calendar sounds like it has a much better line up than last year's one. -
I actually don't see the appeal of a Rebel Friend minifigure honestly. Its just a boring recolor of a Rebel Fleet Trooper from a videogame someone made an internet meme out of.

I'm a bit over Kashyyyk to be honest. It was pretty well covered last time and I don't think the latest sets have added much new to it. I would love to see Naboo and Geonosis revisited though. There's still quite a lot in both that hasn't been done yet both in terms of sets and minifigures.

Unfortunately its hard to get excited for these kind of exclusives when you can just build them yourself with your own parts. -
No one's brought up the Series 15 CMF Queen hairpiece? That one could work pretty well.

Not every minifigure needs arm printing though. Certainly not any of the human characters in the Tantive IV since they all had plain long sleeves with no details in the movies. What would be the point of it? The only one I can really see a case being made for is C-3PO since it was already done on the Force Awakens figure. -

Bail's costume got brought up in an interview with the set designer. The first draft by the graphic designer was originally based on Revenge of the Sith but they decided it made more sense to go with Rogue One instead. I don't mind either way as I'm just glad we're finally getting a minifigure of the character after all these years. -
Hopefully he'll show up in the upcoming Episode 9 sets. 2019 has already given us two long requested minifigures of Zuckuss and Bail Organa. It would be great if Nien Nunb continued the trend before the year is over. I'm hyped to see who else will potentially come in the Episode 9 sets. Spoiler tagged for anyone to remain spoiler free:

I wouldn't mind a set from the upcoming Jedi: Fallen Order game. The new Purge Troopers look awesome and a new Inquisitor is always welcome.

The leaked figures look great so far. Nice that we're getting most of the characters from the film. I'm really interested in seeing the set itself though. Having confirmation that it will indeed be based on the first film has really raised my anticipation for it! -

I'm guessing she'll come with both plain legs and the printed skirt piece just like Saruman did in the Tower of Orthanc. -

I like the look of it so far. Don't mind that they went with Leia's desk again as the interior is too small to really include much else. It looks like the radar dish has some kind of play feature - either as the form of a carry handle for the ship or as an ejecting function for the escape pod. -

The Mr. Freeze set is an easy pass. I own more than enough thrown together Bat-vehicles and while Freeze's face and helmet look good, the rest of the minifigure feels a bit bare compared to his other more heavily armored appearances. The new Batmobile looks great! I agree with others that it looks more like a scaled down version of the UCS set rather than a proper 1989 version but is still the highlight of the wave. The minifigure lineup is very lackluster though. Batman and Joker aren't enough for a set that size. I like the look of the new Batwing set. Its the closest we've gotten to a 1989 version. The GCPD car is a nice addition and I don't mind the campy look of the Riddler helicopter. Never thought I'd see the day when we'd have Lego grenades but they're certainly welcome. Disappointed by the new Batcave set. The colors and addition of the trophy room are nice but overall the layout feels a bit thrown together and isn't designed to be accessible from a minifigure standpoint like the previous caves were. The new Clayface build also looks like a step backwards from the previous TLBM set and it feels too soon for another Batwoman, especially with how long its been since the last comic version of Batgirl. Catwoman is the best version yet and Two-Face also looks good although I miss his dual-colored jacket. -

Gordon looks pretty awesome for the most part but I agree with everyone about the leg printing looking off. He definitely would have benefited from dual molded legs rather than having the coat printed on the front. -

Looks like a solid wave. Bit surprised there weren't more classic characters but I'm happy with the lineup. I noticed that the leg printing on both Jack and Hercules goes further down past the usual cut-off point. Hopefully this starts becoming a new standard for minifigures in the near future.- 961 replies

The Molten Man and Hydro Man sets look awesome. Glad they're making Mysterio easily obtainable. The Venice build reminds me a lot of the Indiana Jones set only more detailed. The Stark Plane looks decent but not something I feel the need to buy. It looks too similar to the Justice League Javelin set that came out a few years ago. -

Bit disappointing Clayface is brick built again. I'm hoping the number of parts used for both him and the tank doesn't result in a barebones Bat Cave build. I agree that Batgirl would be preferable over another Batwoman. It still feels too soon to be getting another one in such a short period of time. Only two minifigures in the Batmobile seems like a missed opportunity for more characters from the Burton films, but I'm still looking forward to how this set turns out. Not too bothered about Shazam coming in a Batman set. The trailers for the movie never gave the impression there was much potential for his own set and I'm glad we're at least getting the opportunity to get the character after being a SDCC exclusive for so long. -

Assuming its real, I can't say I'm a fan of the design. One thing I've always liked about the existing Bruce Wayne and Batman minifigures was keeping the face prints consistent rather than having them resemble two completely different people. The torso doesn't seem very fitting for a millionaire either. The checkered design kind of gives off that cheap old man's clothing from a bargain store vibe. Its a reuse of Gunnar Eversol's torso from Jurassic World but I think Eli Mills' black suit would've been much better for Bruce. -

I still suspect the leaked Riddler minifigure is the Juniors/4+ version and the DC Super Villains version is still yet to come in the regular Riddler set. Hopefully it won't be too long for the full Two-Face minifigure to be revealed. The new head design looks great so far. -

I wouldn't call it phoned in. She's still a decent minifigure and not everyone needs to be excessively over-detailed for the sake of it. But there have been so many Harley Quinn variants over the years that I find some of those to be more interesting than this one and she's not really a character I need an endless amount of figures of. -

Can't say I'm too excited for the new Harley figure. She looks decent but there are plenty of better versions of the character out there. -

Easily the best Catwoman figure yet! Looking forward to getting her. -
Honestly outside of Bultar Swan and Pablo-Jill I didn't think any of the arena Jedi stood out that much compared to the Council members and Clone Wars regulars. I'd like to see the other more notable Jedi that haven't been released yet (namely Adi Gallia, Depa Billaba, Oppo Rancisis, Yarael Poof, Yaddle and Jocusta Nu) first before getting to the really obscure arena characters. I agree Kit Fisto and Shaak Ti could both use a redesign, along with Eeth Koth and Even Piell who don't have movie variants yet. Shame we didn't get any new Jedi minifigures this year.

That doesn't seem like its going to be much of an issue. The stud shooter is very easy to remove and no one is forced to store Hawkeye's vehicle inside the Quinjet. There still looks to be plenty of interior space and the beauty of Lego is that we can always add more seats if we want.
