LEGO Star Wars 2019 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!

I don't expect them to do too well to be honest. Resistance has much less of a fanbase than Rebels does (which itself was nowhere near as popular as The Clone Wars) while the target audience feels like it's aimed more towards the younger Yoda's Chronicles/Freemaker Adventures crowd - both whose sets were notorious shelve warmers. That said the Kaz figure does look pretty good for what it is. Much for faithful to the character's animated design than Ezra and Sabine's figures were. -

We're only getting five Anniversary figures and Luke, Han, Leia and Vader are too iconic not to be included. While the prequels do have more recognizable characters than Lando, I can understand why they decided to keep them all OT centric rather than have an odd character out. The prequels aren't getting ignored though. We already have a micro Naboo Fighter, micro Sith Infiltrator, Droid Gunship and AT-AP this year with Anakin's Podracer, Clone Scout Walker and potentially Slave I also on the way. That's more than Rogue One, Solo and The Last Jedi have. Even The Force Awakens only has a single set with the Starkiller Base Dual. No C-3PO unfortunately. Just Anakin, Padme and the Anniversary figure. I don't think Padme needs the medium legs. She wasn't any shorter in TPM than she was in AOTC/ROTS. Hopefully she will be one of the next minifigures to leak soon. They're supposed to be a new type of shooter game. Its too early to know how different the builds will be from the regular sets. -

Good eye on the tan collar. I didn't notice that but it's definitely present on the minifigure. With Leia's inclusion I suspect we'll also see Poe Dameron, Captain Phasma and BB-8 show up in the Resistance sets as well. -

The bright lime green color gives off more of a Juniors/4+ vibe to me. -

Unexpected but I'm glad we're getting another General Leia, even though it is a little disappointing its the same costume as before and not one of the Last Jedi ones. Her new face print looks good - not as aged as the previous Force Awakens minifigure but still looking like an older version of the newest Death Star Escape figure. It's a welcome improvement. As for which set she comes in - my first guess will be one of the two Resistance show sets as she's appeared in a couple episodes wearing that costume. -

Looks like we're also getting an update of the Black Stormtrooper minifigure from the original Imperial Dropship and TIE Crawler sets. -

Loving the new Scout Trooper minifigure! The new helmet is a huge improvement over the original. I'm glad they also went back to using white legs again as the figure looks more complete with the illusion of boots than the previous version did. Looking forward to picking a few of these guys up. -

It wouldn't be the first time a male and female character have shared a gender neutral torso in the Superheroes line though. Remember Gamora and Star-Lord in the second Milano set for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2? -

That's disappointing Finch is being added to a late production run of the Resistance Bomber, especially when the set is about to retire. Hopefully the figure finds its way elsewhere in a polybag or something because I'm dreading the aftermarket prices scalpers are going to sell them for on Ebay and Bricklink. Looks like the same version of Wicket we got last time in the Ewok Village. I'm more interested in seeing if there's any new Scout Troopers in the shooting game. They could really benefit from a new dual molded helmet, especially if it avoids the awkward visor printing that the Kashyyyk Troopers have, -

I'm not. As a Spider-Man collector as a whole and not just MCU - Michelle just isn't a character that adds anything to my collection. I didn't find her character particularly likable in the last movie and don't really like the "MJ that's not the real MJ" route they're going with her. Either stick with a proper Mary Jane, keep Liz or go with another established character like Gwen Stacy or Black Cat. The only thing I dislike about the existing Ant-Man helmet is the open mouth area. The Firefly helmet fixes that issue but it also means losing the transparent visor, molding details and smaller size of the original helmet. I don't mind the lack of changes. Iron Man's face and helmet are perfect as is while Black Widow's existing face print is the closest her minifigure has looked compared to her on screen counterpart, even if it is reused from Jyn Erso. Pretty low I'd imagine. Those pieces have been out of production for some time and licensing would prevent it due to the designs being too specific to their appearance in Man of Steel. -

Another Snowspeeder was to be expected. Can't imagine it will offer too much new aside from maybe another variant of the new Rebel pilot helmet. Not sure how I feel about the Clone Scout Walker. The AT-RT isn't a vehicle that demands that big a price point and I do prefer the minifigure scale versions that came with the Turbo Tanks over the oversized 501st model from 2013. Hopefully it is at least Clone Wars themed and not another ROTS Kashyyyk set so we can get a few more characters from the show. The Imperial Dropship doesn't sound terribly too exciting other than potentially being a Stormtrooper battlepack, but even those aren't really worth army building until the standard Stormtroopers are updated with hip printing to match the Mimban version and Vader's Castle Pilot. You know the change is going to happen eventually. I'm disappointed there aren't more sets from Episode I aside from the Podracer and Microfighters given its the film's 20th anniversary as well. Seems like a missed opportunity there. -

The new Chitauri head is a MASSIVE improvement over the original figures. It actually resembles how they looked in the film this time rather than looking like generic gold aliens from some random Space line. -

Its a nice throwback to the original yellow skinned minifigures, but I'm more excited about seeing what the anniversary sets themselves are. -

Love the new helmet on Captain America. Wasn't expecting it to happen after so long without one but glad it's here. The detailed printing looks great too although I hope we also see a figure in the traditional uniform as well. Can't wait to see the other characters. -

Its not even a rumor. Its a clickbait Lego Youtuber passing off speculation/wishlisting as fact for more hits on their channel. There hasn't been mention of a Star Wars CMF line anywhere else and all signs are pointing to the next wave being another Disney one. -

I imagine most location based Superhero D2C sets will take the dollhouse approach like Arkham Asylum and Joker Manor did. Expecting something like a modular building is just going to lead to disappointment. It's happened before in the Star Wars line. Quinlan Vos was originally supposed to appear in the T-6 Jedi Shuttle back in 2011 but got pushed back a wave later and appeared in the Republic Frigate instead. -

The Australian catalog is the one linked back on Page 49 right? It only says the movie is coming out in March. The sets are still labeled as January releases while the Collectable Minifigures are due for release in February. -

He only mentioned "New bat cave and bat car" on the image providing the 7 set numbers. He didn't specify if they were coming together or being released separately. Just to recap for everybody who isn't on Instagram: Set numbers for the upcoming Batman sets 76118 76119 76120 76122 76137 (4+) 76138 (4+) 76139 (D2C) What we know - One of the sets is a new Bat Cave that will come with Two-Face - We are getting the Batmobile from the two Burton movies (Batman 89/Batman Returns) What we don't know - Names to go with the set numbers - Anything about the D2C set beyond the set number - Whether the Batmobile is included in the Bat Cave or is a separate release entirely - Any other known minifigures being released other than Two-Face Speculation - Other characters beside 76117's Poison Ivy to be redesigned in the Super Villains video game include Joker, Riddler, Mr. Freeze, Deathstroke, Batgirl, Nightwing and Commissioner Gordon which may (or may not) indicate them also receiving physical releases in the near future -
Its a shame there's still no Shmi figure, but I'm glad Padme is at least making a comeback even if it is another Tatooine variant. She really needs to start making regular appearances in sets again.

Should be a decent wave coming up. The new side villains sound like they're going to be interesting minifigures and I'm glad Spider-Man is getting more new suits instead of reusing the Homecoming figure. The unmasked head is a nice bonus. But I'm really looking forward to seeing how Mysterio turns out. I'm hoping the MCU version will include his fishbowl and not wind up being grounded and boring like Shocker was in the last film. Not bothered about Michelle being excluded from the sets. I never liked the whole "she's MJ but not the real MJ" thing about her character and don't particularly want a figure wasted on her when we still don't have Black Cat or a regular Gwen Stacy yet. -

Pheiffer Catwoman is my most wanted character from the Burton films so you're not alone. Hopefully the Batmobile will cover both films and not just the first. -

He's also just revealed that the bat car is the 1989 Batmobile from the Burton films. Perfect timing for next year's 30th anniversary! The one that came in the Jokerland set was good but I'm definitely up for a more detailed stand alone version. Hopefully it will include a few minifigures based on the film(s). Nicholson's Joker would be a given - but Vicki Vale or the Batman Returns villains would be much welcome additions as well. -

Finally! I've been wanting a new Two-Face minifigure for ages! Never really liked the orange/purple suit of the 2012 figure or the gimmicky take of TLBM one. Another Batcave is also welcome. The last couple have been decent sets but none of them have come close to being as good as the 2006 version from the original Batman line. Hopefully the new set can change that. Would be nice if they went back to the darker colors for the cave too. -
Looks awesome! Still disappointed we never saw either Minas Tirith or the Golden Hall in the original line but you've done a great job at building them both here. Nice Denethor custom too.

I second this! Say what you will about how bad the movie was but I thought Ivy was one of the few high points of the film. Plus they did a phenomenal job at adapting her classic costume for the big screen. Easily the best take on it to date. I'd love to get a Lego version of it! Still hoping we'll see Catwoman from Batman Returns one day as well!
