This is a lovely set. I have no interest in purchasing it but it's nice to see how little it changed in the design phase, and unlike the Big Bang Theory project (where only the license mattered and not the build) this is the complete opposite where it's all about the build, I like it!

A Parody? No way, it looks awesome! And we're definitively getting some kind of set with a motorcycle and raptors, sweet.

Not to mention that LEGO has their own helicarrier coming soon! I don't think the Museum is a likely candidate, it's kinda similar to the reserach institute with the dinosaur skeletons.. Hopefully LEGO'll pick the right choice.. And on another note, I seem to have been wrong about the ent in Orthanc. I e-mailed LEGO and told them that I really like the set and if they could mail some designer and ask if the ent is Treebeard or a generic ent, and here's the answer I got:

The orcs are named in the Hobbit. Both Azog and Bolg. Azog doesn't actually appear, since he's slain by Dain before The Hobbit.

I'm guessing that people are implying that we've gotten a nice ent, that's most likely treebeard and you people need to obsess over getting a "proper" treebeard just because it says "ent" on the Orthanc box when we have way more important stuff to get, and like I said we've already gotten a nice one which you can modify to your liking.

Yeah.. It's the figs we really need. Just a few more crucial, like Gondor Soldiers, Faramir, Eowyn, Witch-King.. I Mean, it's cool to get buildings, balrogs or fell beasts but you can easily MOC them.. I don't want to get custom figs tough.

So what's your guys opinion on the 79010 Goblin King Battle? I haven't gotten it, mainly because I wasn't interested in what looks like a random pile of rocks and wood. However, I've started to warm up to it.. The Goblin King is kinda cool.. However the main reason is that I just know that I'll curse myself for not getting it in the future, since it's the one set that I haven't got out of the LOTR/Hobbit line. So I could grab it for a bit under MSRP here. Anyhow, opinions?

No Spinosaurus? Aw. I'm hoping that they're making some sets based on the other movies, because 7 dinos sounds a lot from sets based on only one movie right?

Nothing. Which is really weird, someone should mail TT games. At this point I wouldnt be surprised If the game has been postponed until spring to be released together with BoFa on DVD and Blu-ray. They might skip on dlc and just release a whole new complete game.

I like it, but I agree - there's no reason this should be produced, especially since we've gotten both Galadriel and Frodo in cheap sets already.

I just supported all of them. Don't think if you like the model or not, just support it to show LEGO there's a demand for LOTR!

A Balrog would be cool, however if we just get 4 more sets other are more important.. A small Witch-King Battle style set "Last Alliance" with Sauron, Isildur and Elendil (or Elrond) One Gondor battle pack, with Faramir, gondor soldier and some orcs. A Pelennors Field set with Witch-King of Angmar, Eowyn, Thedeon/Snowmane. Throw in Merry in Rohan gear if you like. A large Minas Tirith-ish set, with more Gondor Soldiers, etc. Maybe a Battle Troll? Throw in Pippin in Gondor gear if you like. But I do agree that it'd be cool with a Balrog-set for a fifth set!

Yeah it'd be cool to get one in red, orange and trans-red/orange, similar to the Electro minifig. And you could paint it black if you want a Last Alliance Sauron!

In hindsight we've gotten quite a lot of sets - from the 6 Middle-Earth movies we've gotten 26 different sets, compare that to PotC (4 movies, 9 sets) or Indiana Jones (4 movies, 16 sets) Sure, the lack of armies and essential characters from LotR sucks, but at this point we can really be happy for what we got. Right now I'm just hoping for some kind of Minas Tirith set to get the last stuff we need, like Faramir, Eowyn, Witch-King and Gondor Soldiers. Buildings you can MOC, and while the lack of Dwarven/Elven soldiers from BoFa is sad, you can MOC some by switching around some elven/dwarven parts.

What language? I just expressed my opinion on this trainwreck, I do believe that any show with a laughtrack is horrible and should definitively not be a TV show. And Borador, yes early Simpsons had very basica plots, very anchored to reality, the absurdity and foulness ramped up as the show went on.

I'm still in shock that this horrible sitcom that's essentially nerd blackface is getting a set. Do you guys know that the creator is the same as the Research Institute set? Yeah, not suspicious at all..

Well, a cool pirate ship or some piles of generick rocks and tree structures? Not to mention, Army of the Dead figs and peter jackson minifig! Also, the pirate ship is from the vastly superior trilogy. I bricklinked the three dwarves and didn't bother with the Goblin King.

I think this is the worst of all Toa, the chest is just way too wide for how small he is. Huge bummer about the sticker on the chest, that really grinds my gears too. Shame, since Onua was my favourite back in the day.

I think we all would be okay with some kind of exclusive Theme killing playset of Minas Tirith. Imagine like Death Star but smaller, just so we can get the last essential characters..

The fanbase isn't huge.. This forum is one of the biggest (?) LEGO communities in the world, and there's like 10 regulars in these LOTR threads and then the occasional new face..
