Hi all, So I’ve just finished rebuilding all my modulars after moving home. I never had the space to get the 5 all lined up in one go before and I’ve realised a couple of things doing it. Firstly, although I love the Parisian Restaurant, it really doesn’t look right sitting next to any of the more recent modulars. So much so, that I’m almost tempted to discount it as a modular. It’s smaller in stature, and the style is more house like than any other building. Any thoughts? Secondly, despite meticulous deconstruction and then reconstruction, I’ve found I have some missing parts and some extras. Weirdly, quite a few of the extras are the little things you lose, if you're not careful. The missing bits have tended to be regular parts I could resupply from the parts bins. Although I am missing the top of the palace cinema sign altogether, which is more than a bit odd. The building and demolition took place in a hard wood floored room, and furniture has been thoroughly checked. It’s driven me mad. Has anyone else experienced this strange phenomenon? Any way, it’s nice to have all 5 built together, in some form of street. Considering a GBHQ to add in to the street, with maybe a mod or two, since I can’t wait for the 2018 modular to hit the stores near me. That’ll be the summer realistically.

Obviously Lego's own Bo-Rifle design is terrible and many have asked for a good substitute. I made mine using spare pieces so you guys can recreate it as well if you like it. I wasn't able to put any tan straps into it, but at least the bley color scheme is a lot closer than Lego's own black color scheme: https://www.flickr.c...in/photostream/ His weapon has been extended in Bo-Staff Mode: https://www.flickr.c...in/photostream/ This picture shows the weapon in Rifle Mode. An extra exo-force arm has been added as a handle. The other exo-force arm that was already there represents the barrel of the rifle: https://www.flickr.c...in/photostream/ I also tried to recreate the 'collapsed mode', a third option. It doesn't change in length however. The handle changes position and the gun piece flips on top of the staff instead of being underneath it: https://www.flickr.c...in/photostream/ The dark bley handle that gets removed when switching to the staff mode can be clipped on one of the spots that is still available, for storage, though I've chosen to remove it because the handle sits very close to the main staff when folded in. When in Bo-Staff mode, I used trans dark blue studs to represent the energy at the tips, though you can also use crystals elements like in set 75040 General Grievous' Wheel Bike if you have them in the right color. Chima crystals could work well too. Bonus: Agent Kallus' Bo-Rifle: https://www.flickr.c...in/photostream/ Kallus' weapon in rifle mode: https://www.flickr.c...in/photostream/ The relative scale of the weapons. They're very simple builds: https://www.flickr.c...in/photostream/

Spare parts for inventories -> LDD palette
Wolfolo posted a topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
To have an aid for building mocs I started to make LDD palettes of every new set I purchase, but with the last sets (Chima and Ninjago) I gave up because LDD was missing the parts (until today). Now I'm in trouble since I also put in a separated palette all the spare parts the sets contained, and for the latest sets I just mixed up all the parts. Is there someone which knows how to find those spare parts? I could guess some parts with 90% of accuracy, like the cheese parts or the 1x1 round plates, maybe some minifig accessories/weapons too. Rebrickable has the extra parts of some sets which are often used for the calculations, but often those lists are incomplete. Building all the sets/re-count all the parts with the booklets and separate the pieces I purchased from pick-a-brick would be a solution, as there will remain only the spare parts, but with at least 8000 parts it will take a lot :P- 3 replies
