Hi everyone, I would like to share with you my latest creation: Treebeard the ent in the style of an official lego set. I took inspiration from the videogame when i started the face and beard but quickly found out that the design would have been too fragile in real life, so after completing the face I built him using a mixture of LDD and playing with my own bricks I had to hand. It was extremely satisfying to experiment the design using in-hand bricks rather than just using the software as I normally do, a process which has lead me to one of my all time favorite creations of one of my favorite characters in fiction. One thing I discovered while sourcing parts is that element 6091 in brown is very rare which is why I didn't use it for his horn for example. "Little orcs...*grumble* " See more pictures and my other creations here: http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/401108

Hello! This is my first post and my first completed MOC! I have been lurking here for a while now, marveling at everyones amazing work and figured it was time to give it a try. I think I posted the pics at the right size and all that (please let me know if I didn't!) Anyways, I think the MOC speaks for itself but it's just a recreation of the Nativity of Jesus with Tolkien characters (elves, dwarves, hobbits, Earendil playing the role of the Christmas star, etc) Enjoy! 1 by fangorn_treebeard22, on Flickr earendil by fangorn_treebeard22, on Flickr Holy Family by fangorn_treebeard22, on Flickr There are a few more pics on my Flickr. Feedback is greatly appreciated! Merry Christmas!

Hey everyone! I'm really excited to share my very first Lego stop motion animation with you. I spent about 2 weeks on the project as a whole, and I must say it was a lot harder than I expected. This first animation is only 12 fps, but I'm hoping to bump it up to 24 fps next time around. Any and all feedback would be great!

My first completed MOC in almost a year time. I've had most of this built since early 2013, but only today I finally decided to fully complete it, so here it is, depicting the scene from 'The Two Towers', in which Gollum is climbing down the rocky hills of Emyn Muil quietly during the night, preparing to attack the ringbearer to reclaim his precious... "The thieves... the thieves... the filthy little thieves..." Extra pictures: Hope you like it, and hopefully more's to come soon!

Hello everyone, my younger son has come up with a nice idea that we completed together: Narsil in Rivendell: It might not be totally clear, but the guy standing behind the remains of the sword is meant to be an elven statue. That's it for now. Have a wonderful 2014!

The Adventure's of Bombur the dwarf Join Bombur and a group of various other dwarves on their mission to reclaim the Lonely pie. On his journey he will face many evil creatures such as orcs, goblins and giant spiders. Disclaimer: If you are a massive Tolkien fan you must be warned about the content of this comic. It does not fit into the Lord of the Rings timeline and is completely canon!

This is what I have been working on for the past weeks, my version of the council of elrond. Personally I think this is my best dio (would that be a correct name for this?) so far, I just love the colors so much! Even despite the design of the rocks I where managed to make it sturdy as well, wish is something that is usually prio 1 on my models. Hope you guys like it as much as I do!

This is Bilbo as seen in the beginning of The Fellowship of the Ring. I based his design off of the video game version, but it didn't turn out completely accurate. I'm thinking the upcoming CMF Grandma's hair could work for him. Might be a bit too lady-ish, though? Feel free to use.

Lurtz is an Uruk-Hai from "The Lord of the Rings." Lurtz did not actually appear in the books, but he did appear in the movie and had his 10 minutes of fame. Anyways, it's Lurtz's 30th birthday. I'm sure you didn't know that, so I have gone to the trouble to detail his elaborate, humorously sad, villifyingly long, 30th birthday.*** Some days are bad and some days are real bad. Saying Lurtz's birthday is anything but the latter, would be an absolute travesty to the abysmal experience of his 30th birthday. Enjoy. "Lurtz celebrated his 30th birthday. It was not an easy one. Lurtz seemed to think 30 was a harder birthday than any other one he had before. Some Uruks came by to cheer up their sorrowful leader. They all chipped in every coin they had to afford a nice bucket of honey. Honey was sweet. Honey could cheer anyone up, even Lurtz. Happy Birthday Lurtz." Lurtz's 30th birthday by SSchmidt--, on Flickr "Poor Uruks. Lurtz is allergic to honey. Happy Birthday Lurtz." Lurtz's 30th Birthday by SSchmidt--, on Flickr *** Detailing Lurtz's elaborate, humorously sad, villifyingly long, 30th birthday in two photos, is impossible. Feel free to follow the story at the aforementioned links.

Here's my newest creation, depicting the scene from ROTK where Frodo and Sam, disguised as orcs, are approached by a group of orcs and their linebreaker... "After Samwise Gamgee rescues Frodo from Cirith Ungol, they travel further into the land of Mordor, disguised as orcs. As they keep walking on and on, weary and tiresome, they find that up ahead a group of orcs is passing through, slowly moving towards them. As they keep calm and quiet, hoping not to be seen, they are approached by an orc linebreaker who sees them as little orcs and pulls them into the group to march among them..." ___________________________________________________________ You can find it on both Flickr and MOCpages, as well. C&C is welcome as always.

I'd like to present to you my newest creation, based on the scene from TTT where Faramir's Rangers of Ithilien ambush the forthcoming Men of Harad, as Frodo, Sam and Gollum are watching from a distance. (The latter three not included in the scene) "In order to protect the road from Minas Morgul to Osgiliath from possible attacks, Faramir has sent his Rangers of Ithilien to await the forthcoming Haradrim on the road to ambush them as soon as they are in sight. The fist group of Men of Harad is coming closer and closer, and as they approach the rangers, the first strike is received by the enemy..." __________________________________________________________________________________ This MOC can also be found on Flickr and MOCpages. Enjoy, C&C is welcome as always. It would also help me if you could tell me which of the versions of these pictures you like best, the one with a solid white background or the one with the map of Middle-Earth - this will help me pick a definite picture for Flickr.

Just what it says in the title. I'm willing to pay no more than $3-$4 USD for the polybag, and I'd also be interested in just the Mirkwood Elf figure and not the accessories. I'd like multiples. I have a large amount of collectable minifigs on hand, so I'd be willing to trade for the Mirkwood Elf. Just PM me with the ones you want and I'll see what I can do for you. ~Dwarf

Hello all. I'm looking for several LOTR and The Hobbit figures, so continue to see what I'm looking for and what I may have for you. Haves I'm willing to trade several SW figures. This includes clone troopers (Clone Wars (maybe but doubtfully commanders too), ep3 clones (2007 versions), and NEGOTIABLE stormtroopers (2007 versions). Maybe some Jedi, Ewoks, etc, stuff like that. Anything else depends on your wants, though the stuff above should be up for trade. I've got multiples of most of the stuff, and I may have some collectible minifigures. Note: Spiderman is gone. Still have an old Doc Ock figure (Hideout set) in sand green clothing, which I'd have to put together first. Wants Here's a list of the LOTR/Hobbit figurunes I'm looking for: [AMAP] = As Many As Possible * Must come with originally included weapon LOTR Rohan Soldier* - AMAP Éomer* - Several - (Loose helmets, legs, torsos and/or green capes are welcome too) Uruk-hai* (Breastplate) - AMAP Uruk-hai* (Breastplate, White Hand) - AMAP Uruk-hai* (hair) - A few Uruk-hai Berserker - AMAP Ringwraith* - x9 Mordor Orc (preferably w/hair) - AMAP Moria Orc - AMAP Merry - x1 Frodo (green cape) - x1 Brown Horse - AMAP Ringwraith Horse - x9 The Hobbit If you trade figs from a certain set, I prefer to have all the figs from that set, otherwise if I can't find the remaining ones I might have to get the set and I don't want duplicates unless they're generic figs like goblins. Probably don't need Gandalf. All 13 dwarves - x1 (of each dwarf) All editions of Bilbo Baggins* - x1 Gollum (Riddles) - x1 Yazneg - x1 Hunter Orcs - Several The Goblin King* - x1 Goblins (all available 3) - AMAP Legolas* (Mirkwood) - x1 Tauriel* (Mirkwood) - x1 Elf Butler Dark Red (With Key) - x1 Elf with Brown Hair* - x2 Mirkwood Elf* - Several White Warg - x1 Grey Warg -AMAP Star Wars (New - Additional Wants) Sith Trooper (2013) - AMAP (red and black - mostly the black ones) Republic Trooper (2013) - AMAP Jacen Malcom (2012) - x1 Satele Shan (2012) - x1 FM or post here.

I noticed a lot of people were listing their favorite dwarves in the main LotR/Hobbit thread. I figured it might be nice to have a separate thread to discuss which is your favorite, as well as have a poll to vote so we can see which is the most popular (could I a mod please add a poll with all 13 dwarves?). Hello all! Just wanted to share with you a diorama I've been working on, featuring the Battle of Osgiliath from The Lord of the Rings (ROTK). "Once the pride of Gondor, a shining city near the River of Anduin, now a battlefield overrun by the evil forces of Sauron. Gondorians and Ithilien Rangers are fighting for their lives as more and more orcs keep approaching from the East, but it all seems like a never-ending wave of evil sweeping itself over the outnumbered forces of the West..." ______________________________________________________________ Click the first picture for some more shots of this MOC in my Flickr photostream! As some of you may have noticed there is a designer video of the new elrond minifigure, here is a link to what you have to do to watch it, http://thelordofther...cmp=COUSFR9LOTR Once you are on the link and a map of lego lotr has appeared you need to look in the bottom right hand corner of that page and there is a box which you enter a code into to watch the designer video of the elrond figure, the code is A9FB4Q the box has a title that reads enter code, once you have entered the code a little clip will appear for the video, hope it works for everyone if not just ask me and I'll try to help :)

With the release of The Hobbit in the US this week, I thought now would be an appropriate time to share one of my better MOC's, The Balrog from The Fellowship of the Ring film. Backstory Way back in June, Barnes & Noble held Lego events at select Lego stores. At my store, we received two sets for children to choose from (while supplies lasted) build (with our help as necessary, using the instructions or building their own MOC), then write or illustrate a story about their creation, and finally take home all the parts from their set. The sets offered were the Harry Potter Lab and the Friends Ice Cream Stand - as shown in the Brickset link, except our Ice Cream Stand kit came with a wonderful bonus, the orange cat/Mrs. Norris from Hogwarts. The Poster and MOCs (Backstory Continued) To make our store's event more special for the attendees, I wanted to make a poster to show kids (and kids at heart) how to take their free set and integrate it into their own assortment of Lego elements. Fortunately, I had the parts needed for the The Lab and Ice Cream Stand. Starting with those, I used my own time to build a poster and two MOCs. The first used the Ice Cream Stand to build a Friends jungle adventure. The second used the Harry Potter lab to make The Balrog, Khazad-dûm battle, and Tolkien's study. The final poster looked like this - click the image for a higher resolution version - yes, for Lego historians, "Just Imagine" is a nod to the old "Just Imagine..." that Lego used to include on the back of some products: The Balrog, Khazad-dûm, and Tolkien's Study With the recent release of Lego's The Lord of the Rings sets, I decided to base the The Lab MOC after the set I wanted Lego to make the most: the Balrog. The final composition image, featured below, is made of three parts. From the top down, first we have close ups of the two main characters: the Balrog and Gandalf. Next is a wide angled shot of the Bridge of Khazad-dûm, and the confrontation between the Balrog and Gandalf. The rest of the Fellowship watches on in dismay. Finally, at the bottom of the image, you can see Professor Tolien at work on The Fellowship of the Ring. I'll admit that some elements in this last area, like the Harry Potter minifigure head - are not the best. However, I wanted to include as many elements from The Lab as possible - remember, even though it's a LOTR MOC, the goal of this piece was to illustrate how to use The Lab with other Lego elements. As with the poster above, you can click the image below to view the same image at a higher resolution: Afterward This was already a long post, and I haven't taken any more photos, so I didn't attach any more images. However, if anyone want to see more, just let me know and I'll be happy to take some non-Photoshopped Balrog images. For example, things like more views of the Balrog, the trapdoor in the Bridge of Khazad-dûm, or the Balrog's hinged jaw are easy to photgraph.

Siege of Tharbad after nearly 4 years since I start to thinking about this project and 2 years of building , I am finaly in the end. This creation is a part of castle commpetition on www.kostky.org (local czech and slovak LEGO fan forum) So, let me introduce my largest MOC - city of Tharbad. Fans of LOTR know this city probably... and because I am a big fan of LOTR and also of Castle, I decided to make my own small fiction to LOTR world and put this fiction in timeline between events from Hobbit and war of the ring. Tharbad was founded by Numenor colonists in 2nd age. After fall of Numenor it becomes part of Northen kingdom of men - Arnor. When Arnor broke in 861 TA , tharbad belongs to Cardolan. In 1409 TA, Witchking of angmar destroy Cardolan, but Tharbad survive. In tolkiens books, tharbad was destroyd by Great flood in 2912 TA. In my fiction Tharbad after fall of kingdom of arnor in 1974 TA still exists as independent city state and great flood in 2912 TA destroy only eastern part of the city. I decide to take my fiction to year 3008 TA when armies of Sauron from Mount Gundabad start siege of city of Tharbad as a last kingdom of men from numenor on the West of misty mountains. To help for besieged city of tharbad come elves from lindon, gondor and also rohan (all armies i have in my collection). Army of orcs was defeated and that was the reason why sauron was not abble to open western front in war of the ring 10 years later after events of my fiction. more pictures here : https://www.flickr.com/photos/91849803@N02/albums/72157706346200871 1 by richchie, on Flickr 3 by richchie, on Flickr 9 by richchie, on Flickr 12 by richchie, on Flickr 15 by richchie, on Flickr 17 by richchie, on Flickr and some pictures from castle : 18 by richchie, on Flickr 19 by richchie, on Flickr 18 by richchie, on Flickr 24 by richchie, on Flickr 25 by richchie, on Flickr 27 by richchie, on Flickr 26 by richchie, on Flickr 14 by richchie, on Flickr
