I knew about Classic-Castle and Forbidden Cove, and through them I learned of Eurobricks. I basically left Forbidden Cove for the Pirate forum here. It was a great decision.

Next CUUSOO set: 21103 Back to the Futureā¢ Time Machine
Grimmbeard replied to Blakstone's topic in LEGO Licensed
Don't know if I'll be picking this up. I don't think the DeLorean's that bad, but definitely worse than I expected. The figs are great though. -
Not bad for a first MOC. And it tells a story, which is pretty cool . I definitely agree that you should make some comics, as there are quite a few action-packed pics in there.

I wouldn't really recommend using actual Lego sets for "the set". I'd recommend buying individual bricks off of bricklink, as while making the animation you'd more often then not find yourself using walls and trees, instead of a whole building per se. Remember that you only should build what the camera will see.

Nice job! I don't think I was this good as a kid . Sorry to hear about it breaking, but hopefully it gets even better!

The Flying Monkey (2nd post attempt)
Grimmbeard replied to Captain Braunsfeld's topic in Pirate MOCs
Cool little ship . I love the custom cannons, and that monkey face gets me every time . -
Very nice The kneeling effect is indeed awesome, and it's cool how you have all the background information.

Holy hell, that's a big collection!

Nice going so far The level of detail is great, and the modularity, while not sacrificing design, is superb. Can't wait to see it finished!

Very nice Was this based on the Endeavour from Pirates of the Caribbean?

I like this a lot! There's so much texture throughout it, and the water does look nice.

Nice MOC Any plans to build it in the flesh?

Hey all! This is my first Castle - themed MOC. I have always enjoyed this theme, as some of my first sets as a kid were Castle sets. After seeing many great MOCs and scenes from builders here, I thought I'd have a go at one. I decided to do a forestmen type creation, as they have always been a favorite LEGO faction to me. Anyway, here it is. This is the overall scene, built on a 32 x 32 base. And that's it . Thanks for viewing, and as always, C&C welcome. EDIT: More photos and full set on Flickr

I see what some of you are saying with the "richer families can provide better education", and I generally agree with that, and it makes sense. However, LEGO is world-wide known, and I'm pretty sure any person you asked would know about it. Therefore, assuming an AFOL is defined as any adult that likes LEGO, I would say that no, they are not always well educated. I'd say that we have the same variety in education as any group in society.

Nice scene! There's not enough of these battlefield dioramas. Well built and displayed.

-Advice- What is a good project to use to "break" into Pirate
Grimmbeard replied to Demetreous's topic in LEGO Pirates
Well, what do you have? If you have hull pieces and other ship-type parts, I'd suggest starting with a smallish ship. If you have a lot of plant, tan, and brown pieces, I'd suggest starting with an Islander/pirate hideout island. If you have a lot of grey/white pieces, I'd suggest starting with a soldier fort. It all depends on what you have and what you feel comfortable with. I wouldn't suggest ordering a lot of parts for a first MOC, unless you know what you want to do.
