Personally for me, this is one of the best things I've ever seen on this site. I love detailed and true to life airports. I am trying to do this myself and believe me, I know how difficult it is just because of the amount of space and pieces it takes. So impressive.

LOVE IT. I think putting this set on the end of the block (like Citizen shows) is the right move. There is just too much great detail on the side of the building (staircase/chimney/outdoor patio) to sandwich it in between another building.

Empire is way better.

I love realistic, functional airports. I tried to do the best I could with the space I have to work with, but it's very difficult. The road plates are not wide enough to accomodate the width of the landing gear. Given the challenges, I tried to base my airport of off the one I use the most, Midway Airport in Chicago, USA. The main terminal is elevated to allow for the monorail to run underneath. Parking garages flank either side of the terminal. The upper level is for dropping off departing passengers and the ground level is for picking up arriving passengers. http://www.flickr.co...N02/9501575083/

Thank you! I only have a couple of pictures. My layout is still under construction and doesn't look presentable (No sidewalks, train, airport, marina, etc.), but feel free to check out the Flickr page I just started. I based my layout on the town I live in, Crown Point, IN, which has the courthouse in the middle and shops and restaurants surrounding it. I really like that look. http://www.flickr.com/photos/94120459@N02/

Here's mine for reference. Just have to figure out how to incorporate Palace Cinema.

I'm in the same boat. I have a town square setup with the Town Hall in the middle and I'm trying to figure out where to squeeze in Palace Cinema. The two main corner lots that flank the Town Hall are taken by GE on one side and CC on the other. I may have to start to branch off from the square, even though I feel like a cinema should be a part of it.

So for VIP customers the decision is to buy 2 weeks early or wait until March for double points? I'll wait.

That is a valid concern, for sure. However, I don't think the back of the building is too bad. Maybe a small parking lot in back would make sense. The sides of the building are definitely not ideal for a stand alone building, though. I might try to put vines running up the sides so that there isn't just a huge blank wall.

Exactly! I'm Googling different fountains right now to get ideas. I can't wait until next Thursday!

I'm intrigued on how to position this set within my city. I am leaning towards changing my layout to a "town square" with this building in the middle and everything else around it. Surround the Town Hall with grass, flowers, and maybe a fountain in front. I don't think I like the thought of sticking TH in between two other MODs. Just wouldn't look right.

Layout WIP: I've finally started a real layout!

This layout is insane. Color me jealous. I have a decent sized setup (not nearly as big obviously) in my basement, too. I live in Chicago and my wife teaches Early Childhood Autism at a local school. I am trying to convince her to take the kids on a field trip to your house.
