MYSTERIES: Introduction and Rules
Yperio_Bricks replied to MKJoshA's topic in Mysteries: A Star Wars Role-Playing Game
I see the public sector control sheet has been updated. But the planet ownership and points tally have not been updated yet? Now the Dark Side has some points in sector P9, which is needed for the Light Side to get to Rorgam. What are the rules for sectors that are contested by more than one faction? The first faction that reaches 100 points gets control of the sector? How many points are needed to overthrow the leader? -
Let's talk about ships! How do you like to build your Lego Pirates ships? Do you prefer the classic large molded hull pieces or do you favor brickbuild hulls, using modern parts and techniques? And what about sails? Printed cloth or plastic? Unprinted? Custom paper sails? Something else? Tell us how your favorite ship looks like! Some examples of ships using various hull techniques and sails: 'Black Seas Barracuda Sets Sail for Its Next Adventure' by Krackenator4 on LEGO IDEAS 'Imperial Ship - The Fighting Mermaid' by CaptainCJB on LEGO IDEAS 'Small Imperial Brig "Swift"' by LM71Blackbird on LEGO IDEAS 21322: Pirates of Barracuda Bay Ship 31109: Pirate Ship 10210: Imperial Flagship

Not really translucent. Even thick sail cloth becomes "translucent" when the sun is shining like in the picture of the Götheborg, but in case of LEGO simple unprinted cloth would do fine. Maybe not white but with the color of ivory. If i remember correctly i once read that people dye their custom sails with (black) tea. So they don't look brand new shiny white.

I see what they were going for with these lines, but they are too bold for my liking. It's a rather strinking detail of the Imperial Flagship's sails, while i would prefer the seams blending in much better into the overall aesthetics of a (LEGO) ship. You see them, but you don't mind them, so to speak. Götheborg:

Hmmm, now that i think about it, i could need more of these rebel pilute flight suites. Now the mech becomes interesting. -
Previously we established which is the best Lego Pirates ship and which is the better set between the new Eldorado Fortress and Barracuda Bay. But we never had a poll about the best (bigger/big) Lego Pirates Set ever. So let's find it out! Which set is your all time favorite? Which set do you consider to be the best Lego Pirates set ever? Or is your favorite not on the list and you prefer a small set or something from POTC? 6270: Forbidden Island: 6276: Eldorado Fortress: 6273: Rock Island Refuge: 6277: Imperial Trading Post: 6278: Enchanted Island: 6279: Skull Island: 6281: Pirates Perilous Pitfall: 6242: Soldiers' Fort: 21322: Pirates of Barracuda Bay: 10320: Eldorado Fortress:

So far I only have one of those plastic pieces from a Star Wars set (see picture below). I guess I'd prefer cloth pieces and sails over the soft plastic. Somewhere I read it is vinyl, but I don't know for sure. Anyway, in the poll I voted for plain cloth because personally I think the sail with printed stripes and skull and bones look unrealistic Plain sail cloth is the best

I am not sure if there ever was a pirate ship with plastic sails, but theoretically it would be possible. Maybe it was/is more common in other themes. Big dragons with plastic wings also come to my mind. Here are some examples of plastic sails from Ninjago, Friends and Star Wars: 71749 41375 75020

That's good too My fault, i somehow assumed all the points could be allocated to a chosen sector. -

The Light Side places the 30 points in sector P7! -
So Barracuda Bay snatched half of the votes with the Imperial Trading Post a distant second. The original Eldorado Fortress came in third while the new iteration of this classic set got zero votes

Sorry to the person who already voted I had to set up the thread again because i accidentally loaded two of the pictures as attachments and was unable to delete them.

Since every Night Trooper is unique in that they have different damages to the armor, different red stripes of fabric, different gold inlays etc, I wonder how Lego would/could handle this. Every minifig in a potential Night Trooper battlepack would need exclusive printing, no? -

Welcome to BotBS @SevenDeadlyStreamers Great characters you have there and the restaurant looks like a nice place to stop by between all the raiding and plundering! And i really want to know how Elwood lost his hands! -

Yes, they are named characters. But the set is rather cheap and i like to keep one minfig as is and use the other one to create new characters for my mocs. The cape covers the studs well i guess. If the cape would be a little bit wider it would be even better coverage. My problem are not the studs per se but that they look bulky and if you attach something it builds up quickly. Same with the clip on the back of some armors. For example, if you attach a lighsaber hilt to an inquisitor's armor it stands out too much when looking from the side. But that's just my personal taste i guess and as you say, others like to attach weapons and brickbuild backpacks and stuff. -

Yep And Saw looks fantastic! So much better than in the very green renders. (My only nitpick are the ugly studs they always have on the back of the armor.) -

500 or 550, anyway, I never buy such large sets. Somehow I always feel like I can not justify spending so much money on a single Lego set. I tend to buy less sets every year (and more parts from PAB) and the only five sets I plan to buy this year are all LSW sets: 2x Tantive IV hallway 2x Battle of Peridea Escape from the Sarlacc Pit And i hope for some nice minifigs that will come with the magazines -

Looks like someone mixed up the numbers. 3942 parts for 550$/€ sounds better though.
