LEGO Star Wars Set Discussion 2025 - READ FIRST POST!!!
Yperio_Bricks replied to MKJoshA's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I posted a picture in this thread before but I don't know how to find my post. The dual-molded DBG legs with black boots are actually cheaper at PAB than the regular DBG legs. I guess the dual-molded ones are produced in masses because people buy so many of them. So at least this part should be rather cheap. It puzzles me, why this of all parts, didn't make it into the $1000 set. It easily makes a minifig better. -
Welcome to the forum @Siroco Great to have you aboard!

In my opinion the whole thing looks rather boring and is not very detailed. The trash compactor and throne room dioramas we got were much better than their counterparts in the DS. So I'd rather the diorama line would continue instead of this one very big set. Here's a question for y'all: You have the $1000 DS on display in your living room and guests come over. What do you do? I hide it in the closet so they can not ask question about it. I keep it on display and when they ask about the price I lie and say $500. I proudly explain every scene/room and mention the $1000 price tag with great confidence. Unfortunately there is nothing to display because my dog/cat/toddler knocked the instable DS to the ground where it exploded into thousands of parts. -

People complain online, then they go on and buy the sets anyway. So they real question is, why should Lego make better sets when they can make more money selling bad ones? -

You can not compare PAB and set costs 1:1. Don't forget the people that are picking and counting every single part in the warehouse when you make an PAB order. These manpower costs must be a big factor when it comes to PAB prices. -
Some parts for ship builders newly available at PAB online: https://www.lego.com/de-de/pick-and-build/pick-a-brick?query=6528951+6532096+6528952+6532097

They have LBG with black boots, but it's triple the price of the DBG ones. Then they also have dark tan legs with reddish brown boots, but I don't know if that's the color combination you are looking for. These are even more expensive. -

Actually I was wrong when I was complaining about the omission of dual-molded legs in a certain 1000$ set. Actually the minifigs getting the premium treatment! Plain dark grey legs are more expensive than dual-molded legs Seriously, we don't know how they calculate the prices of these different legs, but one thing is for sure, people buy the dual-molded legs in masses from PAB, so they must be produced in masses, and that's why they are so cheap, right? -

Not including dual-molded legs in a $1000 set is laughable. A classic LEGO move, but laughable. But who knows, LEGO just declared the 65 stickers in the Aslume set a "cool extra". Guess it is also a cool shopping experience to buy the missing legs from PAB online, to complete the $1000 set you just bought, eh?!? Would be funny if everyone, and I mean everyone, would boycott this $1000 set and make it the biggest fail in LEGO history. A perpetual meme machine that we could tell our grandchildren. One can dream, right? -
The kutter is such a beautiful boat. I love the dashing appearance All the details, like the rigging, the brickbuild canons, the bowsprit and anchors are spot on. Great job all around! Whan you want to share photos from your flickr, you klick on the little arrow symbol and then choose one of the options. The first one (in German in my case) will work for the forum, but also the last one with the BBcode. Simply copy the link and add it to your forum post.

That would be awesome! Fingers crossed! -
I can only second that! Dramatic scene - you definitely picked the right minifig heads to show the emotions! Do you plan tell more of the group's story with additional mocs?

Actually i was considering smaller sets like 77013 Escape from the Lost Tomb, which has a great ppp ratio for a licensed set (it shows what is possible!). Or the 75387 Boarding the Tantive IV, which comes with 7 Minifigs. But the question was about the best sets and I asumed it's all about the look

I use imgur all the time to share pictures in forums. It's simple and fast. Only for my mocs I use flickr.

Do you have the photos already uploaded somewhere? Then please post the link, so we can work it out. If you have not uploaded the photos I would suggest using imgur for now. You do not need a registration to use the website: https://imgur.com/upload Click on 'Choose Photo/Video' and select one or more pictures from your computer. When the picture is uploaded you klick with the right mouse button on the picture and copy the picture's address. Then paste the address to your Eurobricks post and the picture will be shown automatically.

The cutter looks beautiful! ... from what I can tell by the small pictures. Eurobricks is not meant to host pictures. You have to upload your pictures to a site like flickr, imgur or basically any other website where you can host and share your pictures. Then simply add the link to the image to your Eurobricks post.
