  1. I like it, but one practical problem, it will knock over all your drinks if they are on the edge of the table. Maybe it needs a front bumper that detects obstacles and stops all drive, then resumes once the obstacle is removed... TrayRacer 3.0
  2. Perfect, I will keep my kit together for a bit longer and wait for your 'B' model. But I guess it won't be called a B model, since it has many new parts, so a modification(MOC) of 42100
  3. So your instructions will be a complete build, changing the tracks, boom and bucket?
  4. Finished mine last night, I used whatever parts, so changed a few things including colors, but mostly stock. Model is very solid and initial testing shows it performs well. I would be interested in seeing how far this concept could be taken with the 'b' model shackles removed... Combine the body suspension and articulation with traditional independent suspension in each corner, front and rear steering to create the "ultimate"
  5. The clicking noise when rotating on carpet is normal, its the new clutch slipping due to overload. But agreed is not very nice, its very smooth in straight lines and rotating on smooth surfaces, but really struggles with the carpet rotate.
  6. Looking good, is the reach extended over stock? Certainly looks longer. Is this using the standard app still?
  7. Lockable diffs that can be easily opened would be the best. Like a manual lever either end to lock and open them when needed
  8. @kbalage when you locked the diffs, the steering was not very good?
  9. Looks deep enough to me. But a little concerned with the bucket curl, seems not able to curl out enough to get a good scoop.
  10. You are not at the limit yet, just the limit of traction on that surface, do it again on a more grippy surface, when it tips over backwards, then you have found it.
  11. These parts are the extra? Rebrickable list is the total?
  12. Standard tracks are not very smooth already, ok for straight, but any turn and its clutch clicking town. For the real machine, tracks are slow, but arm/bucket movements are fast, so the model is currently backwards anyway.
  13. Has anyone done a gear box, just a manual switch or two, where you can select high or low gear -> go fast(as stock) in high, flick gear switch, crawl over anything in low gear.
  14. Digital all the way for me. Using a 12.9" iPad pro sitting on a stand takes up near zero bench space, allowing for more room to layout pieces and the model. Can also zoom in on any section on the screen. Posture is also improved as I am not hunched over looking at the book, the instructions are at eye level. Build speed is also better as I can advance with a little flick on the screen, not turning a page. When I got 42100 delivered the digital version wasn't available yet, so I used the book for a couple days and it was a hassle, as soon as I got it on the iPad it all became much easier for me.
  15. Why did you do black beams around the tray? I'm planning to do them all in white, just wondering why you went black, when the real one is all white
  16. Doh, I purchased on rebrickable...
  17. It has to be left connected, might as well use it, how about ladder lowering function?
  18. That is what I was imagining. I think the harder part will be getting the bucket to curl and it behaving acceptably in the app...
  19. The difference is subtle, but comparing side by side, yours is much cleaner - and I hope stronger? Now, onto the most important mod - scoop bucket, so it can actually pick up bricks...
  20. Woot! Thanks man, I remember seeing that in the review now, but pretty sure I said to myself "It will be fixed before release" so disregarded it.
  21. I have hit an issue in my build, any ideas? I have tried: iPad Pro iPhone X Hub from 42099 Motor from 42099 Different battery packs No motor connected The first hub did a firmware update when I connected for the first time, this one has not prompted me for that.
  22. Oh wow, what a hack, I have been refreshing that link daily, thanks for the heads up, much nicer building from my iPad Pro 12.9, than the book taking up half my space.
  23. Nice, any chance of a parts list so I can get the inventory ready for the instructions?
  24. Top of my mod list would be to make the bucket a regular scoop type, not the face cut bucket, how are you supposed to load the bucket in stock form? This is the bucket it should have came with
