  1. Thank you. It is indeed a challenge but with a little help many things can be achieved.

    LEGO vs. Held der Steine

This is exactly what he was not doing. He very much spoke against firms such as L***N and only reviewed official LEGO sets. He mentioned many times in his videos that he likes the LEGO bricks, just not the firm as such (marketing, product development etcetera..). I understand that LEGO has to protect their brand and products but I think it is very un-wise of them to do it in such a manner. Thomas is definately a AFOL and really has some great ideas about what LEGO could improve to increase their products and sales. If only LEGO would take a little advice from the people who actually sell their products, and thus know the customer.. Die Füchse
  3. Yes indeed the la's are below the axle. This is the only way it would work. Your tip about using frames was very helpful.
  4. @TeamThrifty are you quoting yourself now? More progress and pictures. Like I said earlier I was able to redesign the back half of the tractor. I junked the pneumatics and went with two small LA's. Getting drive to them seemed tough at first but I think the final solution is pretty neat. Also started to work on the cabin. Don't pay too much attention to the construction yet because it still needs some refining.
  5. I'll just ignore you said that Firetruck would be nice but I always dreamt of being an astronaut, sooo.. rocket and/or space shuttle?? Anyway not to go wayyy of topic, i'm curious what TLG will come up with. Huge excavator or something along those lines with use of the new sprocket would also be pretty awesome.
  6. @I_Igor i hope you're right about the tractor tire but i'm afraid it will remain unique. Would be pretty cool to have a tractor as flagship model though..
  7. Thank you both again! I find it really motivating to read your replies. Tonight I made the decision to re-make the back half of the tractor. I have made some progress and succesfully installed two small LA's. Hopefully I can post some pictures tomorrow.
  8. @TeamThrifty I'm not sure if I can pull that off without redesigning the entire back half of the tractor.. It seemed a great idea at the time to close this tractor with it's long nose. Turns out that wanting to incorporate pendular front axle, 4wd, articulated steering, PTO, 3 point hitch and RC is, let's say, challenging.
  9. Looking good. Can't you use a train BB? It is quite a bit smaller but lacks the Technic holes.. I also like your idea of building several chassis simultaneously and testing ideas on them. Might 'steal' this trick from you
  10. This is starting to look great. When finished your MF will be a monster with these tires.
  11. Seems like you are dealing with similar problems as I.. Except the pets, because I don't have any Seeing what you have created so far I trust you will come up with a usefull solution. Unfortunately I cannot assist you very much on gearbox design. The only time I can get a gearbox to do what I want is when I follow TLG in the building instructions
  12. I think one small LA will lift more than two small pneumatic cilinders. Only I cannot seem to find a (discrete) way to get power to them. I'm considering to use a worm drive or maybe even a winch type of construction to power the 3-point.. I'll have to see what fits the best. Perhaps I will skip rc on the 3-point and use that motor for PTO and make the 3-point manual. "Joy" of re-design indeed!
  13. I have that part in my collection and used it on the back of the tractor. However tonight I have tested the pneumatics and the performance is pretty dissapointing. The 3-point is not able to lift 107x44r Tire plus rim, even when I put it very close to the tractor. So now I will have to come up with a different solution..
  14. Did you get a chance to work on your gearbox? Curious to see what you will come up with next.
  15. Thank you. And, yes, the nose is where i'm planning to hide the battery box. Probably will have to purchase a train battery box since the Technic one is too large. About the hoses, i hope they will clear the implements. If not i will have to modify them a bit. I wish lego had some 90° elbows for the pneumatic hoses. They would make routing these hoses a lot neater.
  16. More progress. Motors are in place. The rear 3-point hitch is pneumatic (hoses need to be tidied) and works with motorized compressor. IR receivers are in place which will be covered up a bit. Unfortunately most of the room in the cabin was taken up by the motors, compressor and IR receiver. Let me know what you think.
  17. Actually this is perfectly realistic. If you look at the picture of the real machine you will see that it also has a gap between it's wheels.
  18. Hoping they will make the XL sprocket in black.. got some agricultural equipment in mind that could use this sprocket.
  19. No worries guys, i'm glad you are all trying to help and come up with ideas for my little tractor, much appreciated. Unfortunately no real update tonight. Thinking about using pneumatics for the rear hitch, maybe with compressor. Depends on if there is enough room to fit IR receivers and pump in the cabin. We'll see..
  20. Bringing tractor builders closer together! Hello there. Interesting project you've started here. Curious to see with which solutions you will come up with. I will be sure to follow along and give input when and where I can. Mark
  21. Thank you both! That is a really massive tractor @TeamThrifty , I like it a lot. Unfortunately my tractor is not nearly this wide and thus the space in the frame is limited. My plan was to also make a hitch using a small LA but i'm unsure if I can get power to it. Hopefully I can post an update/solution tonight.
  22. Thank you for the images. I will try to make it work but the space is very limited since the motors take up quite a lot of room in my tractor.
  23. Tried that and it seems to be working. It still will be a challenge to fit a 3-point hitch but I think it might just work. Vertical gearboxes really are something else. For this tractor I think I don't need one though (luckily)
  24. Great looking tractor so far. I really like the narrow look of the frame and drivetrain.
  25. Thank you for your replies. I am still struggeling to find room for the motor for the rear hitch and/or PTO and get a sturdy construction at the same time. Trouble is that i'm still very much used to building with studs and even numbers so it's quite challenging to get my head around this 'new way of Technic building.
