Glorious MOC in a revival of an old and rarely done theme! That angled tower section really makes it and the whole architecture (especially interior), fauna and style is simply awesome. Fantastic creation.

That is one sweet facade. The upper floors subtle gap-less protrusion is most excellent. As with your previous builds one must look closely to see the absolute mastery of parts and SNOT techniques utilized. Very clean and classy creation. Fantastic MOC!

Love Town/City builds like this. We're hyper-modular-centric here so its always awesome to see big builds outside that convention. The pool and half-submerged minifigures are especially excellent as well as the modern exterior facade. Great work protein shake brah.

[MOC] The Tubinare, privateering catamaran...
koalayummies replied to koalayummies's topic in Pirate MOCs
Thanks Kai. Brick sails can be tricky to pull off convincingly so I'm glad you like that result. It appears as though I've peaked! Lots of ideas but no time to build. Need you to take the ship's wheel; I'm going overboard! -
Epic first post!

That is without question one of the most realistic aircraft I've ever seen built in Lego. Some of the hardest things to recreate in this medium are the flowing, almost entirely rounded and curved shapes of airplanes and this thing looks like a scale model that you also managed at minifigure scale. Most impressive and amazing work!

Everything about this is pure awesome. Adorable and fun creation. Fantastic building!

[MOC] Lego Art - Sridevi Mosaic (Building Instructions)
koalayummies replied to makushima's topic in Special LEGO Themes
That is simply put gorgeous, along with your other mosaics. I love the color palette you have chosen; its warm and easy on the eyes and the mosaic has the perfect amount of necessary detail without going into insane-piece-count-scale. Outstanding! -
Even if one isn't familiar with the source material (which I am not) anyone can appreciate that this is a fantastically awesome creation of a downright massive build. Those curved sections are amazing; without question MOC expert. Most excellent building!

Incredibly wonderful. Without a doubt one of the best angled facades ever created; such a smooth transition combined with a mastery and knowledge of parts that you combined for a truly gorgeous creation. Well done, one for the ages!

This is so good its like official architecture set quality. Great use of a wide variety of pieces as that is one complex structure to recreate at small scale. Fantastic work!

[MOC] Traditional Japanese House (Kawarabuki jûtaku)
koalayummies replied to teyubi's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
This is one of the most accurate Japanese style architecture I've ever seen done in Lego. Absolutely outstanding creation! -
Jalemac builds regularly go big! Such a pleasure to see and always an inspiration. Beautiful slice of a city; this is what Lego Town is about! Fantastic creation as usual.

[MOC] The Tubinare, privateering catamaran...
koalayummies replied to koalayummies's topic in Pirate MOCs
Thanks Aliencat, I've always been intrigued by multi-hull vessels and thought why not make a pirate-themed one! Thanks Carebear, the sails were critical to the build and it was nearly abandoned until that sail-plan. Thanks! Yeah I felt it needed something more than just the boat. Poor guy abandoned in paradise. Thank TLG, the scattered tiles felt like short cutting it but having enough pieces for fully-constructed water is a bit cost prohibitive. Glad it works as a representation. Thanks! Yeah definitely different from western aesthetics; I almost went with a "junk-rigged" sail plan but didn't want too much a Destiny's Bounty feel. Thanks Aurore! Yeah they need some companionship during long stretches at sea. Thanks! Yeah it was a really organic build so I guess I subconsciously took inspiration from a number of vessels and aesthetics. Thanks Anders T. Yeah I can see that aesthetic, the hull build was really just spur of the moment and getting outside my normal styles. Glad you like it! Thanks Maxim! Yeah I felt it needed some armament but thought the big minifigure scale canons would cause it to lose buoyancy Thanks Fairfang! Thanks friend! Thanks! Yeah I went with more of the lots-of-smaller-pieces for texturing approach and hoped I didn't overdo it. Thanks for the kind words! Thank you NOD! Thanks Garmadon! Yeah I wanted to do something different. Was considering a trimaran but didn't want to be too Waterworld-y. You are far too kind, thank you! Thank you all so much. Far too kind. I'm glad you all enjoy it and I hope it inspires everyone to make their own pirate themed creations! -
[MOC] The Tubinare, privateering catamaran...

I believe its "Unkars Brute" from Star Wars Jakku Quadjumper set. Sorry for late response. -
Lol dang it. It appears that I did in fact describe this hypothetical builder (who's definitely not real nor myself conveying any personal experiences) as 'very simple'. Its one of the great things about this international forum. Even though the primary language is English there's still so much that can be learned about other people, places and customs through both the discussions and creations with Lego.

It was probably just my fault as I haven't gotten anything at a lego store since, like 2019 or something. I don't even remember. But I was getting some Duplos (yeah, I said Duplos) for someone else and then stood there with a not so bright look on my face as they reminded me; they probably thought I just crawled out of a mineshaft or something. Recently unfrozen caveman.

::a very simple builder walks into Lego Store:: "Yes I would like to purchase one Lego please." "Ok great, do you have a VIP account?" "Why yes I do!" "Great! Would you like to use any points today?" "Why yes I would!" "Ok well you should have done that before you came to the store today lol. Get a load of this guy! We can't just apply VIP points right here at the register; what year do you think it is, 2015? Did you just wake up from a prolonged state of unconsciousness? Yeah I know we used to do that but we changed it just because. So you can do this all on your phone right now, don't worry its super easy and not at all convoluted or confusing but the signal will be terrible here in this shopping mall, you know the malls do that on purpose so you can't check prices online, anyway go to lego.com, yeah, and then log into your VIP account, wow yeah this is taking a really long time in fact this usually takes like at least eight or nine minutes, so yeah now go to the VIP center, then um I think you go to rewards center, yeah, then, uhhhhhh, select to use a reward and it applies a temporary digital gift card. See, super easy!" "Ok I think I did it." "Ok let me just scan your VIP card again. Oh no! OH NO! It looks like you did the VIP rewards for the shop at home online site and they're non-transferable so they can only ever be used online now and the item you want isn't in stock online and also its terrible for the environment to have this thing shipped from some warehouse in like Illinois when its right here sitting on this counter right now, right in front of you, but you applied your VIP points to the wrong thing LOL hey Josh this guy did the VIP thing again!" ::crying children everywhere::

eBay buyer claiming incorrect piece (not possible) advice
koalayummies replied to Tavis75's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Yeah I was going to say that likely voids aspects of the transaction. The seller is always allowed to list where they will and won't ship to and the buyer circumvented that part of your listing. It wasn't your shipping it was theirs so its their problem to deal with. You shouldn't get any negative feedback and ebay should remove their account for violating the transaction and going outside the platform. -
Counting the bricks before build commences
koalayummies replied to Rusty43's topic in General LEGO Discussion
You can call Lego, or just go on the website to get replacement bricks. Its completely free and they're quick to get the pieces out to you. This can also help other builders because they may ask you for the letter/number sequence on the tape on the box as that pertains to lots/batches for quality control (its not a requirement to get missing pieces but it can help them to find out if something was widespread and fix the issue).
