What was the last movie you watched?

The Incredible Shrinking Man - on the TV at the weekend.

    Older Than Dirt!

Apparently I watched England win the World Cup in 1966, although I don't remember because I was only a few weeks old. That does however make me old enough to join this exclusive club. May I have a badge?

    What are you reading?

Starship Troopers is good too. The terrible film with the same name has almost nothing to do with the book and is based on literally about 6 pages in the middle of the book. If you read Starship Troopers then you absolutely have to read Bill The Galactic Hero which is Harry Harrison's satire/pastiche on Starship Troopers. Absolutely hilarious. Currently reading The long way To A Small angry Planet by Becky Chambers which isn't your normal run-of-the-mill sci-fi. This is more kind of space opera in an Ursula Le Guin style.

    MOC help - Cavalon Autogyro

I think you have your work cut out replicating the egg shape of the fuselage using plates and fairings. omething like flexible axles is possibly a better choice: http://www.brickowl.com/catalog/lego-flexible-axle-16-32202

    Slithy Toves Kinetic Sculpture

Definitely gyring and gimbling in the wabe. Awesomely hypnotic and fully deserving of the prize I'm sure.

    [EV3] Advanced Programming

I'm afraid I can't help with examples since I don't have an EV3. Multi-tasking on the NXT was relatively easy using the LejOS firmware since you could write multi-threaded java programs. There seem to be quite a few youtube videos on multi-tasking with the EV3 though.

    [EV3] Advanced Programming

Have you worked through the EV3 tutorial on the lego web site? http://www.lego.com/en-gb/mindstorms/learn-to-program

Does a part like this exist?

    What about http://brickset.com/parts/4610948 ?
  9. Have you considered a hexagon for the frame? I've build several of these over the years using the NXT brick and motors, and my most successful design was using a hexagon which forms a more stable base than a triangle. I'll see if I can find some photos. I think I even have an LXF file for the hexagon.
  10. Great review and photos are fantastic. I'm really looking forward to getting this set. Unfortunately my budget has been blown on the BWE and Volvo 160, but my wife has promised to get me this for Xmas ... so only 138 days to go!

    42053 - Volvo EW160E

I got this set a couple of weekends ago along with the BWE, but built this first. I think it's a great little set and really good value for money with a good variety of parts. I haven't had chance to build the B model, but the pictures of it look great too. I also reckon you could do a reasonable cherry-picker with this kit.
  12. Is it me or is part 53178 (cylinder connector) still missing? I don't seem to be able to find it anywhere in the most recent LDD :-/
  13. Bought mine at the weekend from the Lego shop in Westfield (White City, London), but haven't started building it yet. Quite overwhelmed by the thickness of the assembly instructions booklet!

    Porsche Pricing & Availability

It was available at the Lego shop in Westfield (White City, London) on Saturday, £249.99. I umm'ed and arr'ed and decided that for the money the BWE and Volvo EW160 were better value so bought them instead.

    Unimog wheel caps

I'm pretty sure they're the same sprockets that come with the 42028 Bulldozer.
