    No Bionicle in 2017 confirmed

Ah, I see. My bad then.

    No Bionicle in 2017 confirmed

Not sure what catalog you're talking about, but the German LEGO catalogue for July - December 2016 does feature constraction sets - both Bionicle and Star Wars. Mixels are absent from it though.

    No Bionicle in 2017 confirmed

As someone who was mostly interested into G2 Bonkles for the parts (I feel this way about most constraction lines, though I did like the very open feel of Hero Factory's setting), my only gripe with the series ending is that we have no idea of what will come next - as of now, we don't even know for sure if LEGO has already prepared another constraction line, ready to be released in late 2016/early 2017. That being said, I appreciated G2 for the sets it gave us. Not only did they offer plenty of new parts (which were also helpful when mixing G1 with HF CCBS), but they also expanded upon Hero Factory's design with new and interesting builds. Also, to be completely frank, I couldn't care less about that unique mask. It's not a design that interests me that much. Though it's of course a bummer for all the mask collectors out there.

    Future Constraction Lines

There are a lot of nice ideas in this thread. My favourite ideas are piloted mechs, a Fantasy-themed CCBS line and various animals (dinosaurs and insects in particular). Personally, I'd like to see something like Space Marines, but in a style noticeably different from Star Wars. Perhaps with an Anime touch?

    Mixels 2016 Discussion

Yeah, Brickheadz are most like not the successor to the Mixels, as they lack any articulation. They remind me more of those POP figures. I wouldn't mind Mixels getting axed if the next constraction line incorporates somehow more LEGO System.

    Mixels 2016 Discussion

While I liked the Mixels for their creative designs, I wouldn't mind the line ending as long as we get a worthy replacement for it (which means for me mostly other sets with lots of those small ball joints).

    LEGO Dimensions Discussion

I wouldn't really compare these two situations though. The Miis are not really characters in their own right, but simply a system to generate your own avatar (and Nintendo was already a bit laid-back about them anyway, considering you could generate QR codes of your Miis to share them with other people), and Nintendo also hasn't any hardware on the Smartphone Market. Letting one of their very own exclusive videogame IPs cameo on a competing videogame system is a whole different matter. And it's still rather unlikely to happen, at least as long as Nintendo is making their own consoles. EDIT: Haven't read all the posts regarding that topic that came up inbetween prior to making this post, so I'm kinda sorry for digging this up again.

    LEGO Dimensions Discussion

SEGA (and Sonic) are multiplatform, unlike Mario, who is obviously owned by Nintendo (who surely won't let their IPs appear on a competing console). Unless LEGO comes up with system-exclusive sets, I wouldn't count on Nintendo-related IPs (though I'd be more than thrilled to get some Nintendo-IPs in LEGO form, such as Mario, Zelda, Metroid or Kirby). I'd be also happy with some more video game franchises and companies joining the fray. From the SEGA side, I'd appreciate if we get Phantasy Star some recognition (unlikely though), and I'd be super-happy if Capcom also throws in some content.

    LEGO Dimensions Discussion

I just saw the trailer, and man, I'm the most excited for Adventure Time and Sonic (and I'm not even that much of a Sonic fan). So far, I resisted LEGO Dimensions (as Portal was so far the only thing exclusive to it that really interested me), but I'm pondering to get the game now. There are so many more interesting franchises in now, and I'd like to see them interact with each other.

    Mixels 2016 Discussion

Ah, I see. While that is a bit bad parts-wise (getting this new piece as often as possible without buying multiples would be good), it's for the better for the set itself, as the poseability of Kuff's left arm would've been more restricted that way. EDIT: Ohmygod the Nixel that comes with the doctor Mixels looks heartwrenching adorable. I thought the Ninja Nixel would become my favourite of the bunch, but this poor little fellow beats him.
  11. Well to be honest, I would give all of them wings. ;P

    Mixels 2016 Discussion

Thanks for the reviews! It's especially good to learn that Paladum got these new joint pieces as well. I would've overlooked them without your review and thus skipped the lad entirely. Also, just wondering, is it possible that Kuffs also got one of those new joints for his left arm?

    Nexo Knights 2016

I think the one set of the Summer Wave I'm most excited about ist 70318 because it has this nice helmet in blue, which might fit better for this one MOC I've been updating every now and then. But the rest of the summer line-up looks good as well! My favourite is probably Aaron's Crossbow ship. The thrusters underneath it look particulary nice.
  14. I just got Kopaka today, he's my second set of the current wave (my first was Umarak). And after actually building this guy, I must say I like him more than I first expected. While his proportions (the large torso but the rather sleek limbs and somewhat short arms) are still not my cup of tea, they look better in real than on pictures. I also like his weaponry and the unity feature, though I do think that Melum would've looked more impressive with wings rather than paws, especially when it comes to the unite feature.

    Bionicle 2016 Sets Discussion

I'm a bit late to the party I guess, but that's not unusual for me - it's almost always that I don't check up EB just when the pics of new sets are revealed... ' Anyway, I actually like the entire Summer Wave from what I see. Most of them omit the awkward new torso armour, and their design looks overall more interesting to me. It probably helps that their proportions aren't as awkward as these of the current Bonkles. And they come with nice parts which look like they offer great MOCing potential. I will most likely pick most of these folks up, if not all.

    Mixels 2016 Discussion

The Nindjas and the Newzers look pretty interesting in terms of build and parts, so I'm looking forward to them! The Trashoz beaver fellow however is probably the greatest of them. I also like how the new Nixels are fitting to the theme of the Mixel tribes. Hearing that not all of them will make it to Germany is really bad news for me though, as I live in Germany. And for collecting them... the main reason as to why I collect Mixels is that they are great parts pack for Transformers MOCs (or brick-built robots in general), which actually led to me buying various Frosticons multiple times just to get specific parts.

    Bionicle 2016 Sets Discussion

They're also out in Germany now, if anyone is wondering. Haven't picked up any of them yet, but I'm confident I'll snatch Umarak, as he looks the most interesting parts-wise. Kopaka, Lewa and Onua also look interesting, and for the creatures, I like Uxar.

    Nexo Knights 2016

So, Nexo Knights are available in German LEGO stores! For some strange reason, the library is absent though. I picked up both Ultimate Robin and Ultimate Clay, and both are pretty nice sets for their value. Each of them comes with a handful of nice and versatile pieces, especially for people who like to build sci-fi stuff or robots. My only gripe with Ultimate Clay is that he lacks the massive claymore that he wields in the other two sets. I really wanted that weapon, but I guess I will have to get it via BrickLink unless I'm willing to spend the big bucks on either Fortrex (unlikely, as it is just too pricey for my liking) or Clay's vehicle (tempting, but I dunno...). I'm still pondering which sets I'll pick up in the future. King's Mech seems likely, same goes for one of the smaller sets (most likely 70310 because of the new axe pieces).

    Bionicle 2016 Sets Discussion

So, I've been absent from EB for quite some time (thanks to various other stuff to do, also, Smash Bros. and Xenoblade Chronicles X demanding my attention), and suddenly the new Bonkles were already reviewed. Huh. I have mixed feelings about this wave. I don't like the large torso shells, and the proportions of the Toa look rather awkward to me (I never liked the slim but tall design, especially not with those short arms). Also, the masks and the new sword piece are hit and miss, some look very nice (I really like Lewa's new mask), others look rather ugly (most colorations of the new sword piece don't do it for me... probably because mixing silver with a solid colour isn't as appealing). And the huge focus on metallic colours, especially gold, kind of puts me off. But of course there's also stuff like the new hip articulation, which I will most likely get anyway for the sake of some MOCing, and some of the smaller creatures look decent enough for me. But nonetheless, Nexo Knights already got dibs on my wallet. I will certainly pick up a few of the new Bionicle sets, but not before I have gotten some of the Nexo Knights stuff.

    Nexo Knights 2016

I see, thanks for the info. Too bad that we don't have any concrete info on the availability of this helmet. I had planned to use it for a MOC. Well, maybe Clay's bright blue helmet that comes with his ultimate version might be a good replacement (though that mostly depends on how far his visor piece sticks out - if it looks more like a faceplate than a robo jaw, I'm all set, otherwise I need to find out if his helmet is compatible with Lance's visor), or I just go with the silver version in Robin's ulitmate set. Assuming that Germany gets the same exclusive calendar goodies, it's not. Going by the picture shown on the calender, the generic knight in that set also uses the same helmet as the others do.

    Nexo Knights 2016

Sorry to barge in, but I have a question: When the minifigs were first revealed, there were two different blue helmets shown for the generic good knights. So far,I've seen only one of them in the set pics. Does anybody know what happened to the other helmet?

    Bionicle 2015 Discussion

I was kinda non-active around here for various reasons, but I finally found the time to get into the Skull villains of 2015. Recently I bought Skull Basher (purple), and I plan to get the green four-armed fellow and the big VS. set. I just realize that I haven't really bothered myself with the names of all these skele-dudes. Oh well. Just a quick question: Does the silver skeletal bone piece only come in one size? Or were there any longer versions of it found in other sets?

    Nexo Knights 2016

No problem, it's an easy mistake, since both games are also kinda obscure in comparison with the others in the series. And thanks for the answer to my question. I just tried an old knight visor helmet add-on to realize that the Nexo Knight helmet probably won't work with the MOC for which I'd like to use it due to having not enough space. So as long as it doesn't turn out that the new visors are slimmer than the old one, I have to look for another helmet solution again. *sigh* Though I still will pick up a few sets I think.

    Nexo Knights 2016

SerenityInFire has beaten me to it, but yeah, Mega Man X8 was a fairly decent game. Mega Man X7 (where Axl debuted) though was pretty much terrible, as it was a poorly-designed mash-up of 2D and 3D with sluggish controls, horrible gameplay ideas (like being knocked to the ground when hit, civilians with perma-death who are vulnerable to anything spawning right in front of enemies and the poor balancing between its characters) and overall an ugly aesthetic. Back on topic: The axe blade used by Nexo Knights Axl is a new mold, right? Just wanted to make sure if that is really a new piece or if it's old and I just somehow missed it the 1000 times it was already used. As for the critics, it kind of depends on how deliver it, and if it's too negative, it can indeed hurt the forum in one way or another. I could tell you a story that kinda fits with that kind of thing, but it's very off-topic, so I'll box it. So joining this discussion just to complain about how terrible those sets look is neither nice nor helpful. It's fine not to like it, but expressing this dislike should be done with manners I think (and there are a fair share of nice and well-written comments expressing this in a tactful manner).
