    What did you buy today?

I got a few more Simpsons Minifigures tonight, so now I'm up to 7 of the ones I want. I'll get them all eventually, but some are less desirable to me (Wiggum, Krusty and Nelson). I've only bought one double so far (Bart).

    Future Simpsons Set Ideas

The desire for Ned's house seems to be an odd one. What is it about his house that is desirable? It's not much of a setpiece like Moe's Tavern or the Power Plant would be. Other than his rarely seen bar/gameroom, there's nothing notable there. What am I missing?
  3. Glad to see Mr. Burns long lost teddy bear Bobo is included with Maggie. :)

The LEGO Movie Video Game Discussion

It's one of the golden instructions you build in the bonus stage. Finally saw the movie today and I have to say that I'm pretty amazed at how much voice work went into the game. I figured it would be similar to LEGO: LOTR where the lines are just dubs from the films, but there's a TON of original voice work in the game. For example, Vitruvius talks about 5 times more than he does in the movie and he's way funnier in the game! I was also impressed at how they kept certain points from the movie out of the game while still keeping the story cohesive. I really enjoyed playing through a story I hadn't seen before and with characters that aren't highly established like LOTR, DC, Marvel, Harry Potter, Star Wars, etc. FYI, there's no TMNT or Simpsons characters in the game even though they are in the movie. :) Like in the past Lego games it gives you the characters you encountered after each stage, but in this game they also give you random characters as well. It's nice that you can buy them on the character select screen if you don't feel like finding them to purchase around the worlds. This is also the first game that I found all of the red bricks and other collectibles on my own with no codes or guides (none were available when I played through it!). Highly recommended for Lego game fans even if you're burned out on the series!

The LEGO Movie Video Game Discussion

Finished the game last night. Excellent from start to finish. The last Lego game (Marvel) was the first and only Lego game I didn't finish. There's just too much going on in that game. I liked the return to a more simplistic system that The Lego Movie game has.

The LEGO Movie Video Game Discussion

I was about where you are when I quit. It's similar to past LEGO games, but different enough to feel fresh. I'm really enjoying it so far! I was concerned when I started the game about the lack of options (resolutions, etc) but you just have to start the game and they are all in the pause menu.

    Pictorial Review: 10225 UCS R2-D2

A lady on Today while talking about LEGO was asked how many pieces the UCS R2D2 she got her kids for Christmas last year had. "It has like 6,000 pieces!" LOL, good estimate! That must be what it seems like to a parent when opening the larger sets.

    Troll Town [photos re-uploaded 04/07/2020]

I really enjoyed looking through this thread. Being a Fantasy Era fan (and recently assembling my 7094 Kings Castle Siege and falling in love again!) these are more interesting to me than most "modern" MOCs.

    Rock/metal discussion thread.

I've always like metal, but liked very few of the vocalists. I'm not into the screaming/growling, etc stuff. Lately I've been listening to mostly instrumental metal like Bob Katsionis and the instrumental versions of tracks from Nightwish and Within Temptation. I also enjoy the instrumentals from Dream Theater, like The Count Of Tuscany.

    Lego Marvel Superheroes Game Announced

This is the first LEGO game I started but just didn't finish. I'll get back to it someday I'm sure, but it just didn't grip me like the past ones. Maybe I'm just getting tired of the Lego game formula? Or maybe it's because I'm not a huge Marvel fan? It also seems that the more they add (flying, etc) the less I like it. The flying is always wonky control-wise. It was pretty frustrating in Batman 2 trying to fly and land in a specific spot.

    Members on the map

No Google account, but I'm from Tulsa, Oklahoma. I posted in the new members thread years ago and noticed a few others were around here too. Edit: I see a member is from Claremore, OK, which is pretty close to me!

    What did you buy today?

I haven't bought any Lego myself for a few months, but my daughter gets friends sets from grandma once in a while. She got the Dolphin Cruiser recently and she LOVES it. I'm so impressed by the Friends line, I hope it continues.

My very first trip to a Pick a Brick wall

Living in Tulsa, OK, there's a Lego store about an hour or so away in Oklahoma City, but we've somehow never made it there since I got back into Lego. We really need to make a trip there sometime!

    Lucky LEGO finds

Purchased a King's Castle Siege (the big set from 2007, with 900+ pieces) off Craigslist for $30. Yes, 30 DOLLARS. It has all the pieces (half of the bags were unopened!),all of the minifigures, the dragon and the instruction manuals in perfect condition. It even came with the box, which I would rate about 80/100. It was half assembled, then thrown in the garage for a few years.:) It's my favorite set, mostly due to the King figure. I bought a loose set a couple years ago with some other Castle sets for way more than what I paid for this one. So I now have 2 Kings Castles, 2 Kings and 2 Dragons!
