tomdobs55 Posted August 11, 2011 (edited) Hello everyone, I'm Tom from Hampton New Hampshire, USA. I'm originally from a small town outside Boston, MA (Medford), and am 25 years old. I have two wonderful boys aged three and nine months. I have been a Lego fan for as long as I can remember and just recently dusted off my collection and stared sorting, after rediscovering the AFOL community. I have been on here before and lurked for a long time, but between three moves and two children I haven't been on much. Finally I am in a place with reliable internet and space for my Lego (although still packed in boxes), so I figured I'd sign up and start to become active in the groups. My other interests include videogames (mainly Xbox 360 and classics), baseball (Boston Red Sox), and hockey (Boston Bruins). Okay enough with the boring non-Lego stuff, I have loved Lego since I was probably four years old and have kept just about every piece I have ever owned. My favorite themes have always been the classic town stuff from the mid to late 90's along with the 9V trains. Currently I am not MOC'ing but sorting and unpacking. A big reason why I finally joined was to get resources and ideas for sorting and storing. I'm a little anal when it comes to organization (you should see my tool shed!) but I by all means use my Lego for their intended purpose. I love to create cityscapes and new buildings that are minifig scale. My master plan is to create a replica of my hometown of Medford, MA along with the house I grew up in on a complete minifig scale. I'm always on the lookout for people sharing my interests so if anyone is in the New England area I would glady get together in any fashion if needed. I don't mean to ramble and my "t" key barley works, but I hope this topic is informative and hope I can find some friends on here. Thanks for being patient with the rambling, anything anyone wants to know just ask I'm open to answer anything. Obviously due to safety and security reasons my address and phone number will not be posted anytime soon (if ever(probably never)). P.S. I feel like this whole post reads like a profile on a bad dating website hope that doesn't bother anyone Edited August 11, 2011 by tomdobs55

charlieboy Posted August 13, 2011 Welcome to Eurobricks! Your plan to build an entire minifig scale replica of your town sounds like a huge project! How big is the town itself? Good luck with it and post lots of pics of both the moc and the real thing for us to compare the two

Good luck with it and post lots of pics of both the moc and the real thing for us to compare the two Well it's more of a pipe dream at this point. It started out as being my house, then the square I grew up in, now I want to build my whole town (9 sq miles). It probably will never happen due to time, space, money, etc. but I will do at least part of it. By the way its Medford, MA if you're interested.
Brickdoctor Posted August 14, 2011 I feel like this whole post reads like a profile on a bad dating website hope that doesn't bother anyone Not at all! Nice intro. Welcome to EB. Thorough introductions are always a good sign. Though you could've done without the thing about personal info. Asking for it or posting it publicly here is against Site Guidelines. dr_spock Posted August 14, 2011 Welcome to EB, Tom. Medford isn't that big if I recall. You could use selective compression to fit it into your available space. Or microscale.

Asking for it or posting it publicly here is against Site Guidelines. My mistake, I only put that there in case anyone in the area was looking for someone to help on a project or something I'm always looking to meet more people with the same interests. And also, because I'm on my blackberry and can't figure out how to do multiple quotes, I thought about doing microscale but I just love the look of minifig scale buildings with full interiors. I'm working on a liquor store right now as my first big build at the moment. I saw the new stuff from brickforge and got the idea. We'll see what happens. By the way which is the proper forum for posting wips pictures of this ambitious project?
