SirScottLego Posted July 25, 2006 Ahoy! I know a couple of you have asked about my torso design in a previous thread. (http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=2760) Yes it was a custom, for awhile I got into the whole Horatio Hornblower series and I designed a series of stickers that fit with the period... Enjoy the admiral, a merchant and a lobster marine Admiral: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=1917953 Merchant (Might be used for confederate army in another world) http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=1917965 Lobster Marine: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=1917956 I hope to post a couple of my moc minifigs in the future too! Thanks for your critics...
Mister Phes Posted July 26, 2006 These images are small enough to be posted in the thread so I'll do that for you... They look interesting but I can't wait to see them on mini-figures!
El Bucanero Posted July 26, 2006 looks great! I especially like the admiral *wub* I'm not familiar with ''lobster'' marines but I think you should draw another belt on it. Must look great on minifigs, I'm sure :-) Arrr Mr Tiber
SirScottLego Posted July 26, 2006 Thanks Mr Tiber! Correct me if I'm wrong anybody but English Marines were often called "lobsters" because of thier bright red coats... I think you're right another belt would be a great addition. Thanks for the suggestion!
Mister Phes Posted July 27, 2006 I have seen evidence of English Marines being affectionately referred to as "lobsters" and it stands to reason given their uniforms. Now, I am curious to whether there are any mini-figures using these designs? Images of those would be fantastic!
Evil Willy Posted July 27, 2006 These look great, but i've always found that decals don't look so great...Ill stick with originals.
Mister Phes Posted July 27, 2006 I say wait and see them before they are judged. Imperial John did a good job of recreating the lobsters a while back. We couldn't even tell they were stickers, although we were only judging them by pictures which obviously is going to limit what we can see.
El Bucanero Posted July 27, 2006 Great decals sir scott lego, here is my admiral
Mister Phes Posted July 28, 2006 That'd be right! Mr Tiber your image isn't showing on my end and I think you've put in the wrong address. So lets try this I must say that torso works well for such a distinguished gentlemen! It looks like his dinner suit :-D Where did it originate from or is it your design? Mr Tiber your image isn't showing on my end and I think you've put in the wrong address. So lets try this I must say that torso works well for such a distinguished gentlemen! It looks like his dinner suit :-D Where did it originate from or is it your design? Mr. Tiber used SirScottLego's Admiral design, that's why he posted it here! Be more observant, you posted the same torso earlier in this thread. ;-) but no need to apologize or anything, I'm just joking with you.
Mister Phes Posted July 28, 2006 The Lord Admiral Phes apologise for a mistake? That is hilarious. Like that would ever happen! I must have been distracted by giving you a promotion Mr Oo7. In the future I shall spend less time promoting you and more time focusing on which designs I've posted in threads. How's that sound?
oo7 Posted July 29, 2006 :-D Thank you for the promotion Lord Admiral. But why are you asking my opinion on this, after all, you are the Lord Admiral and everone else takes orders from you without questioning your authority. If you never regret any of you mistakes, why consult my judgement on the right thing to do? I hope you like the taste of your own medicine. :-D I'm only joking wth you, I would never confont my Lord Admiral's reasoning. So anyway, what's the story with that Avatar/sig thread? Mister Phes Posted August 15, 2006 It appears I missed Oo7's response! Just because I don't "apologise" (note that I didn't say that I "regreted") doesn't mean I'm not interested in what you have to say. I'm very democratic ya know? Anyway, the Pirate LEGO Avatar and Signature is part of the Pirate Ranking System so its temporarily closed till such a time when we can all discuss a suitable revision. As I'm quite unwell at present and have other projects to work on that might be a couple of months off.
Bonaparte Posted August 23, 2006 I've redrawn the admiral with coreldraw (took me some hours) so I could make some minor changes. Looks really great. I would like to make a captain, lieutenant, midshipmen, ... Does anybody know a great site where i can find some good reference pictures of these uniforms (from the period 1795-1815). Maybe I should just watch the hornblower movies again... Have a look at: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/jeanmark...ish-admiral.jpg The left one is redrawn. The right one is the original. B.
