LEGO Star Wars 2010 Pictures and Rumors

Recommended Posts

Thanks for the link Lego Freak! They all look really nice. The Imp BP has two Snowies, AT-AT pilot, and a Imp officer! :wub The Rebel one has 3 troopers and a pilot. Too bad the Freeso doesn't have a clone. :cry_sad: I'll probably get the two BPs and Freeso. The TIE Defender is possible but I'd prefer a TIE Bomber, or Interceptor. I can't wait to get these after Christmas!

:cry_sad: I liked my old one.

I've only quoted myself twice in the time I've been here. I only did it so I didn't have to type it again.

I'm sorry if it's annoying. It won't happen again. :classic:

Don't be so sad. Look at mine. I loved "Or even Corn Flakes!" I put it in my sig that says some random(and wierd) things. I remember Oky quoting himself a few times. You're still a Star Wars Specialist.:tongue:

Quoting is not annoying.

Titles are meant to be fun.

Specialist is back in.

Now get back on topic or you're all going to a dark place.

You can see in the top picture that he's grey like a Talz, has a spear like a Talz, has a white head with four black eyes in the middle like a Talz... I think we're safe to assume it's a Talz.
Thank you, kind sir.
I cannot help but notice the helmet on the pilot in the Defender looks different...
It looks like one of those Imperial Gunner's helmets. They are like a sphere that extends down the back, has a small antennae (spelling?) on the front left(?) side, and a thin horizontal eye-hole on front.

I am so happy we finally have a good speederbike in a cheap set. All of the previous good ones were in expensive sets I didn't feel like buying multiples of.

Wow, things happen fast!

My comments:

Freeco Bike: My MOC was so much better. And about the CAT, told you so! And yes, that's a Talz.

Tri Fighter: Um.... no.

Tie Defender, Thank God! That thing looks awesome! Number one on my list of these!

Rebel Battle Pack: Rebel Ice Cutter! I was right! I was right! I was riiiiight! Rebel Pilot, right again!

Snow Trooper Battlepack: AT-AT Driver! Cheap! Woohoo! Great speeder, I wonder what that silver thing in the background is!

EDIT: Thanks, Lego-Freak!

Do you mean that little Flick-Fire 'Projectile' Launcher?

Yes, I said it. Flick-Fire.

I mean the thing to the left of the AT-AT pilot, looks like it could be a fourth minifig.

P.S. Tie Defender

P.S.S. Did anybody ask yet, why it says 442 for the battlepack's piece count?

Ah, I get it now! And to think, I was about to buy a General Veers off of BL. Now I can just get this thing, and say it's close enough.

I know it's just me, but it really looks like that Imp officer has a silver Droid Body! I like that the Imperial battlepack is the first to have 3 different types of figs! All the others were either entirely similar or only one was different.

It just looks like he has one leg missing and the other is really fat.

That minifig and the AT-AT pilot really make me happy.

Hmm... The rebel driving the Cutter seems to have the German mechanic face.... Hopefully they'll have corrected the grey mistake.

Did anyone notice that the rebel visors look new?!?!? They're more accurate, you can see in the middle they're orange-ish! Maybe a clearish material is in there?

Thanks for sharing those pictures Lego-Freak :cry_happy:

Rebel BP - "Tank" is average.

Minifigures are ok, but I hope it includes not only rebel troopers, but for instance Bren Derlin. Just a slightly different minifigure.

Snowtrooper BP - Simply great!

Speeder bike is very good and I especially like the AT-AT Driver and Imperial Officer.

They're awesome in a BP.

Freeco bike - Design is allright.

It looks like we're getting another "Han" in winter outfit. But adding an alien to this set is again superb.

Droid Tri-fighter - It looks sturdier than the 7252,

but I'm waiting for some clearer pictures to comment this one.

and last but not least

TIE Defender - I'm in love with this one.

This remembers me of the days playing TIE Fighter and X-wing vs TIE Fighter...

the good ol' days, when I was young(er)

The original clone BP had a shock trooper, a star corps trooper, as well as two regular clones.

I noticed the colered spots in the rebel battle pack too, and given that we may get clone pilots with orange visors in the arc-170 starfighter set, it's possible that tlc also used them for the hoth rebel battlepack.

but it would be better if they are greenish, like the movie.

these are my opinions of the sets:

freeco speeder: it's great we get a talz(you really whrite it with a z!!)but a pity there's no cat . :cry_sad:

droid tri-fighter: well...

tie defender: oooohhhh, myyy, god!! anybody lost a amazing looking lego ship?

rebel battle pack: who does'nt like more rebels to kill mmwwahahahahahaaa!! :vader:

imperial battle pack: I like the speeder and the at-at driver, but what the force is that thing where the officer stands on?

ps: i'm new, anybody saw the droids i'm looking for?

No way. Lego just made brand new goggles, they aren't gonna change them again. I don't really see the orange-ish either.

It's not a tank! and it's perfect! It's a Rebel Laser Ice Cutter (I was right) and they got ever detail down! It's true that it seems that the Anakin/Obi Wan are wearing the same clothes as Han always does. Or at least from the one glance I gave the thing before I decided I wouldn't buy it.

The original clone BP had a shock trooper, a star corps trooper, as well as two regular clones.

Wow, and the first Battle Pack. I just realized that means that in 2010, these will be the ninth and tenth battlepack released! I completely forgot those first ones existed!

Thanks A LOT for the new pics Lego-Freak  . This new line-up looks tons better than the one we got this year with a lot more variety too and a bunch of small sets, WAY TO GO TLC :thumbup: !!!!!

Here are my thoughts:

Freeco Bike: Finally the retunr of the SMALL sets :cry_happy: . The speeder looks incredibly good designed but the best part are the minifigs. A new Obi Wan or Anakin in new outfits are welcome but the true gem is the new Talz. Personally I am not a "Clone lover" I like them but prefer by far that the TLC give us new alien species over re-painted armors  . I ALWAYS wanted a Talz since I see that one in the cantina scene of ANH so this is a dream come true  . This is a MUST BUY for me.

Tri-Droid Fighter: I still dont understand the hate everyone seems to have for it. To me it seems like a major improvement over the last one and looks like a very interesting build with a good combination of techinques. The minifigs are somehow a let down but we still dont know what is inside the greenish pod so we can only hope for a re-designed Buzz Droid :cry_happy: .

TIE Defender: A piece of beauty  !!!!! The TLC really nail the design of the pod which was the part I most feared they would ruin but it seems like they hit the target with this one. The build looks interesting too. I can see a Stormtrooper from the pic but the indentity of the other "pilot" is questionable in my opinion. It seems to me like it wears a motorcyclist helmet in pure black and also at the top of the box you see what seems to be a greenish minifig whose place is maybe that one of the black "pilot" and this will confirm the theory of the black siloutthes that Baby mentioned before the pics where out.

Hoth Rebel Battlepack: Masterful!!! The vehicle seems complex contrary to the classic bunch of pieces the TLC gave us every year. The Hoth Rebel Soldiers are really welcome and that Rebel Pilot is a really good turn for variety.

Snowtrooper Battlepack: An AT-AT Driver :cry_happy: !!!!! The speeder looks good and is great that the TLC include some scenary too  . They finally give us a Imperial Officer in a small set and some Snowtroopers are always welcome.

Overall seems like a GREAT start this time  !!!!

Typical. The one day I don't bother to check the site much is the one day it updates with all these pictures.

Did Anakin ever use one of the Freeco bikes? I'd say it's Obi-wan but the colours don't really match what he wore in that episode.. I don't think they'd go back and do another Talz episode either though. Hmm. I assume it's just because they're prelim shots. It also says the battlepacks have 442 pieces, which seems incredibly unlikely, especially because of the size of them in the pictures.

Hoping the Kit Fisto in the ARC fighter turns out to be true as well then, I'd love a Kit Fisto, especially if it's a new Clone Wars version.

I remarked that these sets include many spare figures (the stormtrooper in the Tie Defender set, the Talz and the battle droids). Anyway, let's comment!

The freeco bike is well designed and seems to include a Talz warrior minifigure. This is particular because it seems to be a unique and exclusive minifig, which are, usually, included in the bigger sets. A few of these sets would be good to recreate the battle of Orto Plutonia. The other minifigure is unclear. It could be Obi-Wan, Anakin Skywalker or a Pantoran soldier, a minifig of a few interest. I think the vehicle will include stickers for the front details and republic insigna on the back. I hope the cockpit is airtight. Not easy to do at this scale, but still possible.

Finally, by judging the piece count, its price will probably be set between 15-20$. This is relatively expensive and, at this price, it will be hard to buy many and recreate the battle. And, although the set may be good, the idea is not. The only use I see for this set is the battle of the Clone Wars episode "Trespass". You cannot really use it for ground scenarios that are not taking place on a snow world. For this reason, its use is very limited.

I'm glad that Lego is finally releasing a remake of the droid tri-fighter, that we have seen for the last time in 2005. However, judging by the picture, it seems oversized. The minifigures (rocket punky battle droids  ) will only contribute to increase the price. The fighter seems to include two flick-fire missiles and the front cannons look interesting. I wonder if the main bubble includes another of these buzz droids. I think I can foresee one but I prefer to wait for clearer pictures. Like for the freeco bike, it will be hard to acquire a fleet of these, as the price will probably be set between 25$ and 35$. It doesn't look very exciting but is a good addition to a CIS army and unlike the freeco bike, this set can be used for many stories, scenarios and battles.

The Tie Defender set is a real beauty of design  I see that Lego has finally buried his blue and black design for Ties and is turning to more realistics gray and black. The fighter looks great with its three "V" style wings. This set is from the Expanded Universe and a welcomed addition to any OT fan collection. It has many different uses and is another piece in the Ties family.

The minifigures themselves don't look very exciting. The stormtrooper is a common figure but one more is always pleasant to have. The Tie pilot itself is also a common figure but this one looks different. Maybe it is because the bad quality of the image doesn't show all of the details. I do not think this is a new helmet because there are no variants of space Tie Pilots. I am looking forward to this.

I am satisfacted to finally have the confirmation that there will be a rebel battle pack next year and that I will not be forced to buy zillions of Echo base sets just for the new rebel troopers  The vehicle is similar to the 2008 scout speeder but share come characteristics with the Pirate tank : the turret. I also hope that there is enough space on the front of it to put another soldier in. It looks like the set will include two long rifles and one short rifle. But, as a battle pack never comes without four individual weapons, it will probably include another short rifle. The pilot is a particular addition because it is the first set to include one that is not a starship. This will help to diversify my rebel army :classic: As for the piece count, it is an error. Imagine if it was not! :oh: I sense that this set will become a must-have to elaborate Hoth dioramas and scenarios. Nice job, TLC

Finally, the snowtrooper battle pack. This is the only set to include a good number of snowtrooper at a cheap price. This is also the first white version of the new speederbike. Even if we all own zillions of them, this colour has an appeal to me. But I think the best element of the set is the AT-AT pilot. Yay! This minifigure is usually included in expensive and 100$+ AT-ATs. This time, everyone will be able to get his hand on one of these minifigs :cry_happy: The other minifigure is unclear. It may be a snowtrooper, an imperial officer or a AT-ST pilot. The station has a firing mechanism for flick-fire missiles and a red light on the right. It is not great, but it includes a white plate, always appreciated. However, I do not like the Clone Wars packaging for this set and the rebel one as they are not from this time of the SW saga. It remains a great battle pack that will come in handy for the collectors and army builders

No fair! They skipped a year!:tongue:

Why is it that Lego decided that CW packaging will now be for all sets? It bothers me, I really like keeping the two separate.

LEGO didn't decide to do it, LucasArts did. I think that all Star Wars merchandise have to have the three clone trooper and the red Star Wars logo, at least for now. Edited by ILikePi

From what I can make out of the picture, I don't quite see how it's a major improvement : it looks exactly the same as the previous one except for the greenish cockpit... Oh, and the added flick-fire missiles:hmpf_bad:... But I do like the old one, so I don't think this one is bad... I just won't get it, since I have the previous one.

But I will definitely get that TIE Defender. Man, that thing is a real beauty!

*sets money aside for Tie Defender and multiple battlepacks*

But seriously, these are amazing. I think everyone else has summed them up pretty well. If Luke's Landspeeder looks as good as these, then 2010 is going to be a great year!
