Benji thinks thoughtfully but shakes his head. "I'm sorry, I'm not sure. In any case I am preferring to save the Fey One, that is the way we should go."

As Karie consumes the mushrooms she can feel power coursing through her bones as she grows more experienced.

The group descend the stairs of the tower along the way finding more dead druids and warrior fairies. In the basement the corpses of long dead fairies are chained to the walls and the room smells of death, decay, and suffering. Blood and bones are spread about the room. Centered in the middle of the chamber, the Party finds the Fey One wrapped in a cocoon of white roots.

Be careful, no one rush in.  Benji If I may keep the medal of Valor You can wear the Anniversary Medal.

Vindsval Hands Benji his Anniversary Medal.  and then consumes  a Nostrum and Ambrosia

Watcha the dead, and for traps.  This seems a bad place to step poorly.

OOC: vindsval should be at full level 43 after getting triple experience for the last battle.

Benji inspects from a distance the body of the fairy, wary of a trap. Summoning his connection to the heavenly, he burns as much ether as necessary and uses his Arcane Wisdom to reveal any trick and to try and remove the vines.

Kiray stares stunned at the Founder. "Well, good thing we went here first," she mutters to know one in particular. She checks for traps. She then tirects her attention to the faeries, "Have you ever seen vines like this before?"

(WBD; Throlar shouldn't be immune to ice if he doesn't have the Weathered Shield equipped.)

The very sight of the room made Throlar feel nauseous, the stench alone was almost enough to make him retch. He managed to control himself, extorting himself inwardly to stay calm and consider the situation rationally. Regaining his self control he stood over the bound and helpless fey, pensively mulling over the scene in front of him.

"Now," he said after a minute, "if I was an Archdemon and I had such a prisoner and I decided that, for whatever reason, they had to be kept alive then I'd have countermeasures in place in case someone came to rescue them. Firstly, I'd assume that if any enemy managed to get this far into my fortress and neither I nor my servants could reach them in time I would start with setting it up so that any attempt to free my captive would somehow result in their death. If I could I'd also set it up so that all these corpses around here would come to life and attack if anyone tried. Finally, if someone did manage to free my prisoner regardless, I would try to enact some form of mind control on them that would cause them to attack their rescuers. Of course, Rosier is not me, and it is unlikely they would have the same thought processes as me, but it's still something to keep in mind."

"I wouldn't recommend trying to remove the vines until we know more about the situation, we should check for traps and countermeasures first." he said, using his Magnifying Glass to examine the room and the vines binding the Fey One.

"No...no..." I rasp hoarsely. "There is no time for all that. We've got to go to the rescue. We could have chased a demon, but we came down here instead, we've got to see it through to completion."

Benji learns that the bonds are demonic in nature and origin and that the right kind of spell would be needed in order to extricate the Fey One without killing her. The prophet sinks to one knee as he feels half of his ether reserves drain from his body.

Kiray and Throlar do not find any traps within the torture chamber.

Benji slowly rises and looks at the group solemnly.

"The fey one is trapped under deep demonic power. Is there one who can cast a spell proper to free her, or am I the best one to attempt the feat?"

"I'm assuming we need light magic? None of us have a diamond. I could potentially recede the vines with an Angelic Aria, but I don't know how effective it would be.

We could try and remove the vines with the use of an Emerald, but I'm not familiar with elemental magic."

"The bonds are definitely demonic by nature, they are not vines of the botanical arrangement. I doubt an Emerald would help, but the Angelic Aria might just do the trick, if you're feeling confident. "

"I have no idea what to do, I could heal them, but I doubt that would do anything to free them. We might be able to ask my angel for assistance but I don't know how we'd go about doing that. So far they've only appeared in battle and haven't spoken much when they did."

"I'd rather hold off on the holy fire until we've tried a few other methods first."

Throlar sighed, "Well, seeing as I can't think of anything else I'll try healing to see if it works."

With that Throlar knelt down beside the bound figure of the Fey One and began using the Unicorn's Horn to nurture them, muttering under his breath as he did;

"Angel, whoever you are, whatever your name is, and whatever god you serve, if any, if you can help us now in any way, then please do so. I beg of you."

Vindsval jams the club into his belt and pulls the Crystal Blade from its place on his back.

If it is a blade of light that is needed to cut back the darkness, would that once wielded by an Angel suffice?
