Aventador2004 Posted October 28, 2017 Hey everyone, do you remember a few days ago, when I uploaded the barrier racer? Well this is the vehicle to go with it. I may end up making a combined model, but I need a second motor first. Enough stalling, here it is (+with the barrier racer. Engine doesn't spin. And my favorite: with it's buddy! Please drop a comment, and here is it with a minifig.
JonathanM Posted October 28, 2017 It'd be neat if the fake engine worked, but it'd need to be another stud wider (or 2?) for that I guess? Maybe with thin lift arms you could get away with just 4 studs wide (I think the fake engine needs 3, or maybe it's just 2?)

It would need a chain (dont have), widen to about 5 studs wide middle, and a few bevel gears.
BondemandClausen Posted October 28, 2017 You don't necessarily have to power the fake engine directly from the pullback, you can get the power from the frontwheels.

JonathanM Posted October 28, 2017 (edited) Yup - that's what I was meaning :) You can do it in 4 studs wide easy enough. A few pics of something I hacked up here: https://photos.app.goo.gl/FEiHuWACMV5fpJhp1 It looks like it'll fit with what you've got OK enough - it's 1 stud longer by the looks at the front. It's possible to get that one stud back - you'd need to use a thin lift arm across front of engine (maybe the 3x5 triangle, at expense of 5L width for one spot - a thin 3x3 T would be nice, huh?) and then two 12tooth bevel bears instead being driven by just one wheel (as the axle won't go through - TLG needs a 1.5L axle!) Would be a bit trickier to make it strong maybe? Anyway, I reckon it is doable, and would be really cool :) Edited October 30, 2017 by JonathanM inline picture attempt

JonathanM Posted October 28, 2017 :) Look forward to it! I think this would be the first push back with a fake engine I've seen? It looks great too!
Aventador2004 Posted October 29, 2017 Not login it yet, even four studs looks too wide. Sorry for horrible pics, they were taken with my kindle.

Marxpek Posted October 30, 2017 i like it! But i do think the front wheels are too big for a tractor/dragster. fun project! keep it up!

Marxpek Posted October 30, 2017 Try anything :) maybe the ancient: or it think they would fit and look well but looking at it again: maybe increase the rear wheels also, they are a tad small for its chassis, most of the time tractor or dragster tires stand taller than it's bonnet and the driver somewhat sits between the wheels, not above them. nitpicking maybe.. Lakop Posted October 30, 2017 I think the pull back motors are underated. Good job. Have we had a pull back motor contest as yet? H

No, not yet, but we should have one, as it would be great to see some more uses for pullback motors. 7 hours ago, Aventador2004 said: And with a size limit. That passed through my mind, but for a contest, I would make it smallish for best performance. I would say only official motors.
