Ex cinno Posted June 14, 2017 My latest project, always related to Italian historical trains, is the diesel locomotive D 145, built for the F.S. by the Fiat Ferroviaria Savigliano in the early 80's. For its unusual orange livery was immediately renamed "Lobster". Width of the moc is set to 7 studs. Beck Posted June 15, 2017 You captured the overall shape very well, but I think the cabin might be too tall, as well as the engine hoods. I realize that this loco is probably difficult to replicate due to the many angles and vents. I would compare your locomotive to this scale drawing.
Vliebricker Posted June 15, 2017 Hi, Ex cinno, nice train you've built here! It's a pity though that you didn't post a picture of the real D 145. I looked up the real D145 on the internet and I must disagree with Beck. The real D 145 also has a high, huge cabin. Relatively higher than you see with other sort like diesel-engines. At the photo's I've seen of the D 145 it seems the loc has a kind of bump at the cabin and this I don't find at your model. Nice work Ex cinno, keep up the good work! Hi Vliebricker, thank for your words. Anyway the model you found in internet is not the same i reproduced here. My D 145 is one of the 2000 series while your is of the 1000 series. And one of the the difference is just that "kind of bump at the cabine". D145 00 by Claudio, su Flickr Here some pictures from the other side of the D 145, that is a little different.
