Yes would be more interesting with farm sets with a higher age than 4+, but beggars can't be choosers and if we only get a 4+ set to keep the animals I will take it:tongue: I think it sold really well so hopefully if Lego understood it was because of the animals

Very true. At least they are on PAB, so I can get them easily enough.

Nice find with the flea market haul!

I can’t rmeember if we talked about polybag for City’s summer “uncle” subtheme but I will throw it out onto here anyways. It looks like there will be a baby gorilla in that polybag. Pretty cool to get an infant that cheap.

Can anyone tel me what this video says?

@Roebuck asked why it's so difficult to include larger numbers of animals in sets.  James May's response was that animals today are much more complicated and, therefore, more expensive to produce.  But James May paraphrases all the questions posted in the video, so you should be good with just listening!

Another YouTube clip where we see a short glimpse of what I believe is Gitte Thorsen making animal moulds. She is working on the calf and the goat is to the top right, not sure what is to the top left, but I assume it is moulds already on marked so Lego do not leak anything that way:shrug_oh_well:

Looks like a calf in brown and lambs in white? Or maybe all calves?

Great find!

That's what I thought as well, very unlikely Lego leaks something in a promo-shot like that anyway. In one of the Lego documentary's they repeat a meeting that had had before discussing the CMF hot dog man.
In addition the calf and goat was most likely not made at the same time either..

The new red panda mould is included in a Dreamzzz set as well!

Honestly a pretty clever way of making it more widely available without waiting another year or two to put it in another city set (The minigun panda has my attention more tho)

It also looks like all the Dreamzzz sets this wave include those mystical ravens (we’re up to 6 now) so that set is perfect for anyone who wants both new animals.

Nice to see they include the raven mould in a lot of sets and was not expecting the panda there. Hope that do not mean it is incensed, but most likely City paid for the mould so should not be a problem. Are dreamzzz ending after this wave? Now that they have started including animals that would be a pity :shrug_oh_well:

Dreamzzz is a Lego in-house property so there wouldn’t be a problem with any new molds they introduce either way. There’s been no chatter about the theme ending anytime soon, and while I wouldn’t blame anyone for skepticism after both Hidden Side and Vidiyo were scrapped with little warning after barely having any time on the shelves (and both with planned sets that never saw the light of day if I recall) - Dreamzzz isn’t trying to pair itself with a phone app as a major part of its play features. Instead it’s got a tie-in cartoon series, which is a strategy that’s worked well for both Ninjago and Monkey Kid, so I don’t think there’s any risk of it getting axed in the immediate future. Which is nice, because the designers have been introducing all sorts of fun new molds (still waiting for Izzy’s hair in a natural color).

It’s in ‘Castle Nocturnia’ - the biggest set of this Dreamzzz wave. That set and a second one that leaked today also have the ravens, so our total number of them is up to 8, while there are currently 3 total sets featuring the red panda (counting the as yet unseen City set).

It’s pretty interesting to see red panda mold to show up in DreamZzz as an unrealistic raven mold shows up in these sets. Also it’s really neat to hae molded creatures rather than buildable ones in hat theme.

Yes and I think there was a manta ray mold in City also showed up in Ninjago as a recolored verison.

Raven mold would be perfect for Hidden Side sets!

Yeah, it’s a shame that Hidden side isn’t still around - I feel like it and Dreamzzz could have a lot of fun using the new parts the other spawned in different ways. It sucks that Lego just can’t seem to handle doing themes with a digital tie in game these days, I’m not into the spooky aesthetic, but I know it’s popular enough that it was the focus of the very first themed CMF back with series 14, and Hidden Side was like a spiritual successor to the old Monster Hunters theme. Still, at least Dreamzzz is making good use of thier villains to partially fill that niche.

Agreed. I always appreicate in-house themes like Vidiyo, Hidden Side, Dreamzz, Monkie Kid.  I don’t think Hidden Side had a lot of animal molds toher than ghost dog Spencer and that red-eyed tan crocodile. Spooky themes usually have spiders and ghosts, that’s it.

I think a lot of the design language of both Nexo and Hidden Side went into Dreamzzz, seeing how they went mirror / evil characters this wave, with 5 main good guys having a mirror magenta "evil" variant this time around, reminds me a lot of Stone Clay , Good Jestro, or Blue Jack from Nexo and Hidden Side.

But yes, Black , Dark Grey, Light Grey/Black (Hooded Crow), or Dark Blue recolor would certainly work for that Raven mould for many applications.

LEGO already had a yellow and black raven knight in CMF, but that doesn't  mean they can't bring back that faction someday in a raven themed Castle set or something, and of course Vikings  / Norse mythology Huginn and Muninn ravens (which were somewhat referenced in the last 3-in-1 viking ship but via brick built small pieces)

Yeah, I’ve already seen people speculating about a possible Odin/Allfather character in the future CMFs thread. For that matter, Valkyries were often depicted as being accompanied by ravens (since Valkyries are supposed to escort the souls of slain warriors to Valhalla, and ravens also tend to swoop down on the corpses left on the battlefield for more practical purposes), and so far as I can tell, while Lego did a Viking woman in a cmf awhile back (long enough for her to be less than impressive next to the Viking Village figs), they’ve never done an actual Valkyrie. So that would be cool to see as well.

I really hope they bring that fraction back, since I really like the color scheme and the raven would fit perfect there :sweet:
