Hi folks,

today I'd like to present you my newest MOC. This time it's not really a Unimog. But the WF trac is based on the MB trac, so I stay in the family ;)

The WF trac is the same scale as all my Unimogs and cars, so nearly 1/12.5.

The original can be seen here: http://www.werner-trier.com/wf-trac/wf-trac-6-x-6-s/

All in all I used seven motors in this MOC for all the different functions.

The main functions are:

2 L-motors for the drive train

1 servo for the steering of the front axle

1 M-motor for the articulated steering

1 M-motor for turning the crane

1 M-motor for the double drum winch - each drum is separately controlled

1 M-motor for the compressor

For the crane I used the new pneumatic cylinders. The grabber uses four small cylinders for gripping an turning.

The cab can be rotated, but only manually - no room for another motor. ;)

I used 3rd party wheels since I wanted to stay in scale... The rear wheels are a little too narrow, but I don't really care :)

There are only some small details missing...

If the weather allows I'll do a video the next days...

Have fun with the photos...

Extremely well engineered!!!  :wub:

A couple of years ago I worked on a Moxy articulated dump truck which uses the same rear bogie suspension... No useable turntables back then, but these 28Z's do the job perfectly!!! :classic::thumbup:

Nice video! Could you specify the steering angle? I mean the angle the front makes compared to the back? It seems not that much...

Will there be a video showing more functions of this? For example the cabine rotation? Would be great!

Hi Ingmar,

thanks...

OK, I'll try.

Turning circle only front axle steering about 200cm, only articulated steering about 100cm and both combined about 50cm...

Cabine rotation is only manual...

You would like action videos?

Something like this:

I would suggest you replacing the 12 tooth bewel drive gears with 12/20 or knob gears in the chassis.

Thanks Zblj, knob wheels need too much space... The pictures of the chassis are old ones. I use 20 tooth gears on each of the four rear wheels...

Okay, that seems pretty tight! Watching the video I thought it would be much bigger...so I am wrong and I have to admit you did a great job on the steering as well!!!  :wink:

About the video, yes something like that!!!:thumbup:  :classic:

Hi Ingmar,

glad you like the video :)

Your praise meams a lot me! Thanks!

You are most welcome!!! "Final" request, could you do a video that shows us a little more of the off-road capacities of this beast? I know it is not a trial truck, but fooling around a little to show us how the suspension works would be great...

Hi Ingmar,

atm the weather outside is too bad for taking a good shot. But I'll take a video when it gets better...

Hi Ingmar,

the weather cleared a little and I took the chance for taking some small shots.

Hope you like it...

Yes, I enjoyed this movie too!:classic: It handles obstacles nice and loading on to a trailer works perfect!

What I do wonder, what controller do you use? The acceleration seems a little "bumpy", I mean it is on or off, nothing in between. Or am I wrong? :sceptic::wink:

Thanks, Ingmar. Glad you like the video...

Yes, atm I use the standard remote controller, with the train controller it should be better... :)
