Bionicle Protector Alternate Builds

Recommended Posts

Hey guys! Why do we use the same design and don't create something new?

I am starting to use the new style of protectors!

Here's an example of my own new design.

Furno

Protector of fire:

He is very athletical:

Because he uses new structure.

Here it is:

This is an action frame front view

And this is my protector in armour.

You may try my way of constuction. It's more flexible.

This new protector with new joints can shrug shoulders. It is very usefull for shooting Bionicle movie!

So I finally got a few protectors to play with,

I found I had less options than I thought with POI, so I kind took a liking to fire.

I fixed what I didn't like about the Tofas and added a second gatling gun.

I abandoned my unique chest build and added upper arms and longer legs.

Finally I lengthened his heels due to the extra back weight.

Ah excuse the poor lighting:

I think it looks closer to the animation models even with the additions.... and especially how the gatlings fold away.

Pretty simple Mod.

Ordered small tires to cover the small bare bones.

That looks BRILLIANT! I like that you used the silver feet, though I would've kept the tr. orange hands personally. I can't tell which pieces you used to attach his guns however. Did you use these twoperhaps?

Almost, it's actually this and this.

I really like the Protector of Water. The Protector of Fire, not so much, I think the legs need shorter shells. Unfortunately, #4 shells don't exist in red, they would have been perfect. But perhaps it would look better if they were attached sideways.

Correct, and I agree. I'm going towards shorter bones, but I'm waiting on the perfect shells to arrive. :)

I didn't use the transparent neon orange because its not in the mask, the only thing that matches are flame pieces which I'm okay with.

The POW actually has a big fin on his back....I'm still trying to work some gimmicky weapon on him.

Thanks guys! It's way better than the set connecting method. Less obstrusive and more functional. Definitely going to use it (with due credit if I share anything, of course).

I have been searching for some way to attach PoF's blaster to his shoulder with more stability and poseability. Your solution is borderline ingenious.

I've been holding back, this is my favorite work in progress, guess what the knobs are for :)

The extenders are very useful here... not sure why I've forgotten about them. This one is awaiting pieces too.

Very novel idea combining the gearbox with a chest shooter. I might try that sometime myself.

It actually works well, and not really visible from the front, thickness is about the same as POF or POE, the chest shooter is actually in the same position as POE,

I'm almost done with my "POJ" you could say, he's just missing a few pieces.

Highly recommend experimenting with the socket extender pieces.

My Protector of Stone came in today, and this is how he/she came out with Rayskull's original design:

Here's a shot of the modded shooter if anyone is interested:

I posted this in the 2015 Bionicle section as well, because it fixes Lewa's kneck problem. But this a breakthrough for our Protectors (if you wanted the gearbox on them).

Still not finished with my POJ but getting closer, I couldn't hold this solution from our community though. BTW it works much smoother than the normal cog system.

Ooh, nice! I wouldn't mind eventually getting some clearer images of its construction/connection at the bottom, and of course I'm looking forward to seeing your PoJ. :sweet:
